Todays Weather in Your Garden - 28

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Sunny and going to be more humid today. Also going to be hotter. At the present time not much wind and not a cloud in the sky. Unlike a lot of you I am hoping for some rain tomorrow a.m. when the front bringing nice dry and cooler air comes through.
Happy to hear your trip was so nice Victor, sure sounds like a good time.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Temp 75.9°, Wind WSW 1.6, Rh 54%, Baro 29.80 steady. ☺

Sunny& cloudless am here, supposed to be the hottest day this week, Forecast is for 90°.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Pat. 73 and sunny here. A bit humid. About 90 today and more humid. Willie, do you have a weather station?? I am still looking to get one.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

No, Victor. I live just about next door to one stationed at the elementary school for WeatherBug. I like WeatherBug especially for that reason, you can find a really close observation station and it's real time.

However, for the statistics I post, I use a widget on my mac called WeatherDock. Since that one is also sampled less than 1/8 a mile away (airport), I figure that is close enough for my needs, at the moment.

Now, with koi in the picture, I am thinking I want something that would include remote sensing of the pond's water temps. I would be most interested in what you find.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks. I use Weatherbug also. Unfortunately, the closest station is now about 4.3 miles away. That's too far when it comes to precip. I like a model from Oregon Scientific that uses solar powered sensors.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Temp 75.2°, Wind SW 4.5, Rh 56%, Baro 29.74 steady. ☺

Not too bad today with the breeze, temps reaching the projected 90° mark, cooling down nicely now in the evening hours.

Breeze was helpful--but still difficult to work in the sun.

That thunder storm blew away any extra sleep grrrr

Sunny this a.m.with a light variable wind, temp is 74. Hoping for a bit of rain from the front going through early this afternoon. So far looks like all you up north are once again getting the most. Cooler and drier the rest of the week.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Beautiful morning. 72 and sunny. Supposed to get some rain and then some real nice cool clear weather. Taking my son to the Mets game tomorrow so it should be great. Maybe a bit chilly at Shea, where there's always a breeze at night.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Sunny, cloud-less skies this am, a thin film of haze giving the skies a pale blue color. Rain predicted for this evening along with a high of 87° for today.

Overcast now and looking forward to some rain to go with the clouds. Temp is 79 degrees and the wind is more steady from the west at 4 or 5 mph.

Anyone see the mental giant who went 'kite surfing' in the FL hurricane? He was slammed and is in critical condition.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Nope we had one here on Lake Ontario on a Jetski, rescued two miles out.

I saw that this am on the news. DUH! Hard to have sympathy for some idiots, but I do hope he does recover and has learned a very hard lesson.

Southeastern, CT(Zone 6a)

I agree with Patti. I saw it on CNN this morning also.

Both my mom and sister live on the west coast of Florida, so I was happy Fay remained a tropical storm.

Clouds are moving in now, very muggy. Chance of showers this afternoon.

Why didnt that guy just let go?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

That's what I was wondering too - after he hit the sand first.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Well alrighty then. Got very dark,a little thunder, wind picked up, sudden sideways heavy rain for about 15 minutes. Sun is out again and the temp has dropped ten degrees.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Probably he didn't let go for the same reason he was out there to begin with....duuuumb!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Darwin Award wannabe...

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Doncha love the Darwin Awards?
The all time best was the first one I read.
Two guys attached a booster rocket to an old Chevy.
Completely forgot there isn't any breaks or steering.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

LOL Victor. Not somebody you would want your daughter to get married to for sure. They do seem to be every where though.

Yonkers, NY(Zone 5b)

Just when you think people can't get any more stupid, they go out & prove you wrong.

Nancy

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

What an idiot!!!!! I was gonna say if he doesn't survive he'll make the Darwin awards for sure!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Unfortunately we all pay for morons like that with higher insurance premiums, etc.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I was trying to listen and see if any of his buddies were yelling "Let Go!" but nope! Not a one!!

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Probably a transplanted crazy New Yorker! ☺
The image of being drawn and quartered comes to mind, (I don’t think it got to be a hurricane, if it was a hurricane he’d be fish food).

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

If it was a hurricane he would have smacked into the Sears Tower.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Okay the idiot isn't quite as stupid as we first thought. I just heard on the news he was strapped into a harness so could not let go. Not too stupid to let go, but just mostly stupid overall. :)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

So strapping yourself in so you can't let go is less stupid??

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Weather took a great turn during the day. Unfortunately, we got none of the predicted rain but it is beautiful now - sunny, clear with a nice breeze. About 77. Perfect kite-surfing weather.

He could of ended up in Cuba if he caught the right wind! What a nit witt.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

The strapping in part is included in mostly stupid overall. LOL good kite-surfing weather, good one Victor. :)
We got one short really heavy downpour, just missed the rest that blew by just to the south or just north as usual. Happy to get the quarter inch of rain we did get. Going to be a bit chilly tonight, going down to low 50s. I think I will leave windows open for a while since there has been a nice change in the air.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Great sleeping weather!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Um....we are going down to 49 tonight.....where's my fleece PJ's?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

52 here!
