One more because I didn't include Michelle! There she is on the right in red. Hi Michelle!
Visit to Pirl's Garden
Oh Kassia, you got to go! Pirl, Kassia was so looking forward to seeing you and your garden. I can tell it did not disappoint. What great shots! I just love your daylily, Kassia. 2 shades of ORANGE. So very you!!!!! You are now so important!!
I can just imagine how fantastic your yard will be next summer with all the daylilies you were gifted among all your incredible roses. So much fantastic color!!
Great shots from everyone. Makes me feel like I was there too. Just great to see your gorgeous garden again, Pirl!
Harper great pics, I love your colorful descriptions. In that 2nd to last pic you list 5 people I only see 4.
Ok now that you posted another one.... I'm talking about post 5346237.
Great pics, Harper. Thanks. Wonderful garden tended by two great gardeners.
No - only four, Jen - Jack, Nancy, Louise and Memory.
Oh hee hee, looked like there was another Nance listed. oops my bad.
You did a great job with photos, Harper. I especially enjoyed Yowza - another good name for a daylily.
You and Nance really seemed to enjoy the freshest asparagus possible. You were eating it three seconds after I picked it and not even Whole Foods Market can compare with that!
The dahlia is Bahama Mama, the orange sherbet daylily is Haidee and the JM is Scolopendrifolium.
Mother Goose was a gag gift sent by none other than JD. She's been repaired frequently and she's sitting on her nest of Christmas wreaths protecting the site where our former pets are resting, along with birds we've found and a rabbit and the neighborhood duck, Adelaide, named for the original owner of all of Calves Neck, Adelaide Harper. There's a chandelier above them so they'll know we "left the light on" for them.
Thank you, Harper, for the terrific photos.
Thanks, Kell.
Nice sentiments, Arlene. Is Calves Neck the name of your area?
Yes, Victor. On many maps it's Harper's Point, which I know Harper would just love!
Way back in time it's where the farmers put their cattle since the peninsula, with a long fence across the top, was ideal for letting the cattle graze with no risk of having them escape.
Oh, yeah! I was willing to eat a plateful of that fresh asparagus! Yum!
I didn't know the significance of the nesting duck there. I like that area all that much more.
Oooh! And I love Harper's Point! Now I know I gotta move there! It's made for me!
nice photos .... man why didn't we think of taking the photo next to the street sign... that's it Harper get back there!
Next time, I'll be going home with that sign in my bag! No... just kidding. Wish I wasn't!
Okay, Allison! I'm going! Wanna come? :-)
sure!
Yay!!
Great pictures, Harper, of a truly great garden. And I just adore the Mother Goose. I think items like that add a lot to the garden.
I do too Polly. When I die, I think I'd like to go to a place like that.
Looks like heaven to me, Arlene.
It's fun seeing the gardens from everyones else's shots. We all forgot the group picture though. Shame on us!
Regroup!!
Count me in :) !!
Well...I'm waiting...where is everyone?
Great! Someone talented can do a collage under the Harper & Hill sign.
I didn't want a days drive to hold me back.
Good thinking and you're not wasting gas either.
ok, I am coming back! but not today!!!! I am so sad... Nestle is gone... don't know what happened but she is gone... Yesterday I put both of them outside and checked on them a few times - went to Home Depot and when I came back my mom was looking for her and only Cocoa was in the water... I looked all over. Everything around looks fine and no signs of her... so sad... Cocoa's neck looks like it was bitten and the skin was almost broken. I am wondering what happened to my baby... she is so much bigger than Cocoa that I wonder if a bird could have lifted her... I don't know. I am very sad... but I hope she is ok... maybe she will be like Cocoa and come back!
oh well! not a fun day!
I am so sorry about Nestle.
I hope she comes back too. It's hard enough when a plant dies but your turtles must heve been like pets.
Jo Ann
Thanks! I hope so too... the silly thing! even have a garden! oh well!!!!
Good luck, Kass!
Oh, Kassia that's so sad. I hope you can find her.
Great shots of Pirl's beautiful gardens everyone! Looks like you all had a lovely time!
Kassia, good luck finding Nestle!
Oh, Dear! Kassia.....I hope Nestle is ok. Has she gotten out of the water and "gone missing" before? Keeping my fingers crossed that she is just taking a tour of your lovely gardens and will show up. Sniff.
Let's hope she just went to smell the roses and returns very soon.
Oh Kassia, I hope Nestle turns up for you. Do they ever bury themselves in the soil?
You poor thing. You must be worried sick. I hope she's just hiding behind a pot, Kassia. I'll be thinking of you and hoping for a quick return of your precious little one.
thanks allison - I didn't see that thread.
