Pirl--That hosta stands out like nobodies business! I wish I had the name of it too! lol. Jack and Gary from Naylor Creek have an intro that looks somewhat similiar, but definitely not the same, it's from their Olympic series.
I'm no longer upset that I missed it...I was a little peeved at Paul...but, it's all good now. I just am bummed, especially now seeing the photos!, of not being able to go.
The next one, short of a death in the family, or someone in the hospital, I will be there...either with Paul, or alone ;-)
Visit to Pirl's Garden
Great, Thom. I'll look forward to meeting you and so will my friends.
That DL is spectaculor...it's like a breakfast at sunrise!
I just have to remember to bring a gift for Harry :-)
A very beautiful garden Pirl and that's an understatement. There are many dayliliy hybridists here and it looks like you've got a hybridist's collection.
Do you have an update on the veggie list/garden you posted earlier? Sounds like you are growing a big veggie garden. Do you store any of your produce?
Laurel
Yes, HHH or Harry might attack your shoe.
MP: we eat what we grow.
I'd expect to have a collection since I started doing hybridizing in 1998 and we have 1,364 of our own here on our property in addition to those I've purchased and trades from the wonderful DG people.
Beautiful gardens!
Thom - that is a great name for Pirl's hybrid daylily!
That is a good name!
Thanks, Songs!
Wow! It's so nice of you to post those photos, Louise. It's true what Zuzu wrote to me today - that it's such fun to see Kassia's photos and now yours. It gives a different aspect and perspective than I've taken. The huge hydrangeas by the obelisk were two of three we bought in '95, no names, for $5.00 each at a big Nassau County nursery.
The daylily is one of ours: Seductor by a nameless red I received as a bonus many years ago. I do love that one!
You were so respectful to ask permission and you're welcome here anytime. Take cuttings until you can't fit any more into the car.
Here's 'Charming Charlie', a gift from a friend months before Charlie was born.
Louise - the last one you posted is 'Becky Lynn' by the famed 'I forgot'.
great photos!!!!!
What beautiful pics!!!
I am sooooo bummed I missed it!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe you can make it next time. I'll be sure to invite you.
Oh wow the photo's are just stunning! Wow pirl you have such a lovely yard as I have told you before.....I would love to sit there and just have tea (or a glass of wine LOL) and enjoy the scenery! Beautiful beautiful beautiful!
Glad you all had fun at pirls!!!
Thanks, Dawn. We did have a day of fun.
and I will def accept. (Unless something unusual happens)
I'd probably aim for 7/11.
I'll mark it down NOW.
It's gonna be at a convenience store?!!
Lol Victor, but I think we will all be counting on your attendance! We'll even buy you a cup of coffee :)
You can count on victor. Down here it is WaWa not 7/11.
Again, beautiful pics.
Kassia and the next one are lovely. Well, shoot, they're all great.
jan
Thanks, Jan23. Do I dare throw out a guess that your birthday is January 23rd?
what a great mug!
Jan, so funny, I worked for Wawa for 22 years and just quit 2 weeks ago. It wasn't that long ago that I told a fellow DGer that I LOVED my job. My how things change and so quickly.
Can Victor and Harper fight over it in a mudslinging jello fight? I'd buy tickets :)
Looks good Kass and Pirl. Seems to be a lot of daylilies - I heard 20,000.LOL

and still plenty left
Victor, I told everyone you are my imaginary friend... lol... I think I am never going to see you!!!! soooo funny!
Venu, thanks again for my rose... she is planted in a pot until I can finish weeding!
Arlene, the coleus is doing ok... it was totally shriveled up when I got home... but I have it in water and it's all back to life! so good...it encourages me... maybe it will really take off!
Allison is right. Poor Arlene still has tons of daylilies to dig... I got at least 100... and still plenty left! I was greedy... but I am sharing mine with some friends... oh so looking forward to next year... daylillie heaven!
I forgot to post the roses.... shame on me!
I love that last picture.
My dream is to someday see Pirls garden. Lovely pictures, thanks! What gardens she has, and that veggie garden of Jacks is amazing, too.
100 daylilies, Kass? You are hooked. So roses, daylilies, what's next?
