Kaleem - what is the name of the water? Is it a lake or a river?

Your photos are lovely, as always.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Beautiful country side.
Great cloud pictures too.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Beautiful, Kaleem!

Southeastern, CT(Zone 6a)

Oh, Kaleem, it's beautiful. Where are you moving to? 300 containers IS a lot to move!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Beautiful! I'm with Nance....300 is alot!!

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Beautiful shots of your country Kaleem. The last one wants to make me jump in. Especially since there is not one powerboat in sight :)

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

Hi, Kaleem.

Nice to see you posting on here. Lovely pictures, as always.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Louise - I'm right there with you in spirit regarding the powerboats, water toys and the horrible noise from the cigarette boats. With the gas prices there's more peace and quiet than ever before.

The dahlias are really so gorgeous this year. Here's Wildwood Marie, from Al.

Very pretty, Pirl.

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Cigarette boats ???

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Thanks, Victor. Last year I neglected to tie it to the stake and it didn't make 3' tall. It's much nicer erect.

Yes, JD. They are racing boats and SO noisy! http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=cigarette+boats&btnG=Search+Images&gbv=2

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Remember Miami Vice?
That was a cigarett boat (vulgar things)
I preferr rowing or a canoe.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I'd never heard them called that before!

I have seen them in FL They are called hydro boats. Used to go and party on the banks in Biscayne Bay. When they were not racing we would jump in the water and chill out. Miss Budweiser..............

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

I;ve never heard them called that, either.
They race those here, too...and yes, they ARE really loud !

It is not funny, but kind of cool to see them flip 3 times and land upside down. Lo and behold the driver manages to get out. Sometimes the divers go in and rescue them.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I think the cigarettes are 'lighter'...

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Oh, Victor. It's so good to see you haven't changed.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Actually I did. Friday's clothes were starting to smell a bit.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

(Do I have to do this? I guess it's called for.)

Victor!!!

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

lol!!!! yes.... Victor!!!!!!! I think your mom would be mortified if she heard that!!!!!

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

oh no...and he probably has dirty dishes under his bed, too !

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

No, the bodies are there...

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

lol!!!!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

I'd be happy to see some dead deer bodies no matter where they are! They ravaged the cucumbers last night at 8 PM. Brave Harry scared them off. Jack is buying more Deer Scram today.

They're so rude! They don't even pay attention to the sign I posted.

not only they are rude but also illiterate!!! sorry to hear about the cukes... thank God for Harry!!!!!

You should be getting mail soonnnnnn.... big hug!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Oh, cukes. When I was a girl we had a dog ( part dachsund and part ?) named Fritzi who would go out to the garden and pick the cukes and gnaw on and litter the ground with them. He didn't eat them just left lots of teeth marks. No... we didn't eat those. It was frustrating.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow - bad year for you with them, Pirl. Sorry to hear that. Do you have Liquid Fence? Deer Scram did not work for me.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Pirl, sorry to hear about your cuke loss.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Liquid Fence

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Doesn't Liquid Fence have to be applied again after every rain or after the irrigation system goes on?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I don't. It does say to do so after a heavy rain. I just use it every few weeks in general, or when I see new growth.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

I use Deervik. http://deervik.com/ I sick a green bamboo stake in the jar and place the stake in front of a yummy plant. After about three years they are I think getting used to going some place else to browse. The turkeys may also be helping. I plant mostly deer resistant plants if I can but a few that I really like the bambi family does too. Also chase them when I see them.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Thanks, Victor.

Jack bought two more containers of Deer Scram today so we'll try it around the vegetable garden where they enter (not the gate where I spread it last week).

If it took me or takes me three years to control this you can write to me at the Funny Farm.
