Good morning my sistahs. A start of a good week for all I hope, especially you Marion, our much missed sistah. Sure hate to think of the inconveniences you're going through for your mum, but they are necessary ones. God is looking out for you both and we'll continue praying, all according to His will.
Gonna pack some brugs, redirecting them to the right recepient..hope they make another trip to Robynznest (Robin). I hope I have enough space in it to send her an extra from me. Lord let it be not a scorching day along their journey.
Have fun my sistahs, whatever your plans are for the day.

Linda Kay
water is gone, but yard is soggy
Good Lord!! Sis, hope you don't have to wade in that water!!
(there's a song somewhere)
Any plants that need replacing, post it here, we'll do something for ya, right sistahs.
Ok...another question...are those feathered creatures of yours okay?
Did a creek over flow, Kathy?
OMG... Kathy's yard looks like the view out my back door... but my water is suppose to be there... her's isn't...
Yes, we'll help replace what plants you loose... just let us know... I too hope all the non-human residents at your house faired the flood well... it looks pretty scary.
Morning, sistahs... *waving to Marion*... High Five, Jaye... grinning at my favorite niece...
Isn't a wonderful Monday?... well, for some of us...not Kathy... sorry dear.
Yes we will help replace what you loose. Please keep us posted.
Please take care.
Linda Kay
deb, that water is the result of a faulty storm drain, and lots of rain.all my birds faired well, as did my plants
Prayers for Marion - and for Kathy's plants!
Morning Y'all! Jaye - what a coincidense - you're going to have a b'day same as my little sister! she's turning the big 5 0 tomorrow. Come to think of it, I need to call her and see how my nephew is doing - he's going to Olympics in four years swimming (we hope) and I think he had some big pre-Olympic thing here recently.....
hot out, and no rain. Kath - bottle that stuff up along with your chowchow and send us some of that there water. (see Jaye 0 I'm fluent in Redneck)
Ooo... we could have an Olympic celebrity in our midst... good luck to him...
Remember the ducks that come to my front door to get fed everyday... well, when Don's mom was here, she named them Dilly and Dolly. I noticed a few weeks ago that Dolly had some feathers missing from the back of her head... I looked into what might be causing that, and one of the possibilities was that Dilly may have been 'fertilizing' her eggs... so to speak. Well, a few days ago I was dead heading my zinnias and noticed a duck nest with 2 eggs in it on the ground below my zinnias, which, when you live on a lake, that's pretty common. Well, today I went to check again, and Dolly is sitting on 5 little eggs. When I walked up, she left the nest, but just stood nearby... I just hid behind the stand of zinnias so she couldn't see me to take this pic. If she thinks her eggs are being threatened, she'll try to move them, and will probably not be successful in doing so... ducks are pretty clumsy, ya know. I really, really want her to hatch those eggs right where they are. So, dead heading my zinnias for the next month might get tricky.
Last year, a duck laid some eggs below my hostas, and some predator attacked them. I found egg shells all over the yard. I was upset for weeks after that.
If you look closely, you can see some of the eggs Dolly is trying to hatch.
Jaye, it isn't nice to withhold information from Mother Nature you know!!!
Shame on you!! Love you just the same.
Mom is some better but still having great difficulty getting around. Visiting nurses will be here this afternoon so hopefully more progress will be made.
I miss working in my yard and being able to get on the computer in a reasonable length of time.
Today DD started her 22 year of teaching and I wasn't home for that. OH well, she will survive.
Take care all. Kathy careful in all that water. Tinky Winky, awhummmmm--what can I say? You get the idea. LOL
Good to hear from you Marion. Sounds like mom is on a steady course of recovery, albeit a slow pace, but steady anyway. I know you're anxious to get home, but you're where you need to be right now. How are things with your sister? Has she decided to move yet?
Be careful out there Sis, you know what comes along when the water rises like that.... s n a k e s!!! Can't stand them!!! Walk with a big stick!!
Ahh BJ. Indeed a beautiful start to know that all of us will be Aunties to your ducklings. Short of building a fence around Dilly's nesting area, to ward off predators, wonder If sprinkling some red pepper or tabasco around it might work?? Forget it, might do some harm to Mama instead.
Amen to your mum making a little progress. One step at a time, and that I'm sure gives you some encouragement, Marion.
Uh, Bon, I'm glad I remind you of your sister..her B'day that is. What's your nephew's name? We'll be sure to cheer him on.
Well, yes 53 young tomorrow, and the celebration started 53 years plus 9 months ago :D
Have y'all seen that rare red brug "Super Spot" selling on eBay? Too afraid to bid on it, cause it's just a cutting! Pretty sure it will go for more than a 100. He's selling on his website for 200!!
$200 brugs? now I'm glad have no GH.
prayers for Marion's Mom (sorry 0 left her out earlier)
Ducklings! that reminds me - DH should be giving me parakeet pics soon. I am so disappointed. DD didn't want to photo them when they were pink featherless bobbing blobs. Now, except for size and flying ability, I can't tell them from their folks. DD said they should fly by day 26 - they almost did, think it was day 27 for one, and on day 30 she agreed to a photo op - they look BIG. ah well.
Well, Jaye... since the bed that the zinnias are planted in, and the eggs are in, is a raised bed... about 3' off ground level... hopefully they'll be safe. I just took some bread crumbs out to her and sprinkled them around away from the zinnias... I spoke softly to her like I do when I feed her and Dilly... I approched the zinnias and she left the nest, then I dead headed 2-3 zinnias just to get her used to me doing that... when I came back in, I watched out the back window, and she ate some of the bread before getting back on the nest. I have some of those zinnias tagged as to color, and I hate to loose them to the birds.
I think this might work since she already knows me and recognizes my voice... or is that my imagination?... don't know how smart ducks are... but I like to think she knows me.
i was bidding on dola. but i finally stopped. she sold for $51
Bj, you have to be so proud to have the ducks and the nest.... That is so cute.
Marion, glad to hear your Mom is doing better. geting the visiting nurses set up, can be a real big pain in the you know what, but once you get it there, it will help her out. You too... Be aware that they do random, surprise visits, about once a month... Usually when you are not even out of bed yet. That is what they do here...
Oh well.
Take care all.
Linda Kay
I can't believe how pricey some of the brugs go for! WOW.
Are they just greedy, or really rare???
Linda Kay
OH-how cute baby ducks!! I think they do recognize you:)
Marion-was that ahemm in reference to my shirinking comment??
Kathy-be carful of the slithery ones and I am gald everything has fared OK through it:)
