Watersorb crystals! Does the DGer have any that she could use to wrap the ends with? Are they rooted? I have plenty of watersorb crystals I could send her for her to use with shipping your brugs.

Hey, Jaye, I'd send them to her already hydrated, plump and juicy just in case she doesn't know exactly how full those things get. One tbl holds 1 gal of water.

Deborah, Brandi sent them to me in one of the swaps. I had never had the chance to use them. So, soak them first..of course!! 1 tbsp. to 1 gallon of water. For 4 brugs, I'll send her that much?
Hopefully the DGer agrees to wait till she gets them.

No, just hydrate some, let them soak up all the water until you can eye-ball how much you think she would need to put in a damp napkin for each stalk.. Won't take much at all. I keep mine hydrated in an ice chest during the summer to use when I plant stuff. That way I won't waste any.

What you send to her hydrated, ask her to re-hydrate them again before she packages up the brugs so the cyrstals will be good and plump when she starts to use them.

Just got dmails. The organiser suggested refund ($60) and I get the brugs too. But I told the organiser to let that Louisiana lady keep the brugs...hate to see them DOA.

Found "Old Timer" rose, but I'll wait till fall before I order it. Fell in love with Pride of Acadiana, but I have no luck with designer hibiscus!!! Then every canna lover must have a white canna...Ermine it is.
As for the dahlia...I can live without it.

can't read more - been out in iris patch digging all day. Storm chased me in - no got to go shopping - it's tax free weekend for getting back to school stuff, and DD is 16 and rising junior. I've GOT to get her to stop dressing like a total geek nerd.

geek and nerd are 2 nouns that mean the same thing honey-not sure if DD is the dorky one here!!ROFL!! JK-smooches Bonnie;)

this is what I get for letting her geeky nerdy dad raise her and teach her how to dress while I worked night shift.

geek and nerd the same? well, I used to lead the geeks (I was the suit that gave them all jobs and they never let me forget it I wasn't one of them) and gotta say there is a difference - some of those boys were HOT (I was their mama's age, but I'm not dead). They used their high paying geek jobs to do things like race car driving, kayaking, mountain climbing - i.e., it paid for their hi tech and sports toys both. most of them were buff.

And they make great husbands!!! ;~D

been digging irises most of day - got to go to bed night, everyone. still haven't read much.

Well it isn't midnight yet and I am home finally so: Happy Birthday Jojo. Hope it was everything you wish and more!!! Did you get a pirate?

...and just why is ice under my seat? Did you realize I has been being that hot at my Mom's and sister's home? Well, I sure was!!! Left Mom doing somuch better and physical therapist is working with her not to be totally dependant on the cane and walker. I very happy about that!!!

It is so good to be back! I couldn't wait to get on a computer that works for a change. Still need to unpack the car and go through the mound of mail on my bed.
