Marion, remember you have all of us with you in spirit. Will be praying for the best for your Mum and for Him to guide your family in making the right decisions.
BJ, you should have recorded Don't buzzing, whirring and pounding. Yep...hit replay whenever you miss him!! :D
Linda Kay, your fairy garden is so neat. Both you and BJ contain your mythical kingdom in one area. Mine are scattered all over! Think I'll group them together in a 'nothing grows' corner!
Congrats Bon!! Pretty soon you'll have some of the best looking irises that none has.
**SWEET INTERRUPTION** 9
Oh, Marion...I'm sorry you all are having to deal with this. Do you think Mom will fight you on moving?
I'm praying for you girlfriend.
(Whatever that yummy stuff is in the picture...I WANT some! )
marion, keep your chin up.{that way you won't spill any bailey's}
Doesn't that look yummy Joyce? I love fruit tarts. A little custard base first before setting the fruits, then gelatin poured over to firm them up.. oh boy!!
Got something here.. hope this will bring some more smiles to your faces.
Biology Lesson
Mr. Jacobs, the biology instructor at a posh suburban girl's junior college, said during class, "Miss Arnold, would you please name the organ of the human body, which under the appropriate conditions, expands to six times its normal size, and define the conditions."
Miss Arnold gasped, then said freezingly, "Mr. Jacobs, I don't think that is a proper question to ask me. I assure you my parents will hear of this." With that she sat down red-faced.
Unperturbed, Mr. Jacobs called on Miss Jones and asked the same question.
Miss Jones, with composure, replied, "The pupil of the eye, in dim light."
"Correct," said Mr. Jacobs. "And now, Miss Arnold, I have three things to say to you. One, you have not studied your lesson. Two, you have a dirty mind. And three, you will someday be faced with a dreadful disappointment."
Marion your such a good Daughter!! Your mom is a lucky lady! Take care of yourself, we miss you!!!
Marion we are sending our prayers to you all. Thanks for popping in. We are all concerned about you and your Mom.

Linda Kay
Thanks everyone, I sure will need some prayers in the days to come. Nope, isn't Mom--she's been ready to move for 3+ years. It's sister. We will cross each bridge as we come to it but atleast the doctor said I didn't have to keep saying it this time.
Kathy, chin is up--absolutely no spilling of the Baileys', I need every drop to get through this with my sister. Ah, such is life!!!!
Will send a prayer up Marion.
..glad you are able to check in.
Marion-we miss you:) And will be keeping you an mom in our thoughts:) Smooches;)
Joycet-have you gotten any boxes lately??
Jaye-Love that!!LOL
Oh, Marion... I'm so glad you checked in. I have been worried about you, but I knew internet connection was kinda iffy there. Glad you got on.
I do hope it goes well with your sister... perhaps when she sees that it's best for MOM, she'll give in. Keep us posted... ok, sistah?
My prayers are with you, as usual.
Here's a good "quick" fruit tart I do sometimes... specially when company calls last minute that they're coming over. I bake one premade pie crust... you know, those ones you find in the freezer section at the gro store. I make one large package of Jello instant pudding (cheesecake flavor), and pour it in the baked pie crust and let it set in the fridge for about 30 mins. Then I just start covering it with what ever fruit or berries I have on hand... peach slices, blueberries, strawberries, etc. A little sprinkle of granulated sugar sometimes, or not. We really like it, and I haven't heard any complaints from the guests.
Thanks all for your prayers and best wishes. Not going to be an easy decision but I keep asking my sister, if you didn't intend to move why did you buy a house? Duh!!!
Probably won't be on anymore, Live Longer at Home services are coming to assess the situation here. Scary!!! Will tell more later.
Love you sistas!!
Oh boy that sounds really good, and easy!!! Can't get better than that.
Marion, I have a fresh new bottle of bailey's. I will save it just for you. Take care.
Linda Kay
If any one is interested, purpbutfly has agreed to make tiny beaded bugs for your decorating pleasure.
She will sell them directly, or possibly trade for some plants...
Thanks
Linda Kay

OK y'all I have one for you
It was the fall of 1972, winter was at the door every morning chilling legs, noses and the resolve to get to class. Ralph Nador was stumping his latest controversial subject, and he had stopped off at Wellesley College. That evening Alumnae Hall was filled to capacity, and the seniors, class of 1973, were having fun testing his brains and his wit. Applause had been polite. He had railed against everything from hot dogs to hydrocarbon emissions from cars. Then he went after any chemical form of birth control. When he hit this last topic, it hit a nerve. Earlier, the freshmen of Beebe Hall had been wondering aloud this particular weekend, in this the hippie era of "free love," if any of them could make it to graduation as virgins, and, if not virgins, at least not the unthinkable, pregnant. A few passing upperclassmen and seniors chipped in a few comments here and there. Now here was the time and place to speak up in earnest!
The Pill was lamblasted from the lecturn for all it's ills. The seniors were on their feet, railing at him as much as he at them. The history of back alley abortionists was brought out by the history majors, the tenets of all religions debated by the philosophy and religion majors, the financial repercussions of unwanted pregnacies discussed by the economics majors. The Poli-Sci majors were practicing their future policitic prose at the top of their form about the social ills that befell unwed mothers and their human rights. He parried every thrust they could make, efficiently and fast, critique and comment flowing fast and furious on this touchstone subject.
Finally, in desparation, one senior stood up, one we all knew was probably going to valedictorian that year. Loudly she educated him, "Mr. Nador, you just don't get it. Some women would put just about anything in their mouths not to get pregnant."
A full 45 seconds of dead silence. 60 seconds. Then...
.....Pandamonium. Sheer pandamonium, raspberries, catcalls, whistling, cheering, raucous applause, and such a stomping of feet as Alumnae hall had not heard even at the last barn dance held there. The grand old hall's balcony shook with such motion, girls started pouring out into the stairwells, and still the stomping went on.
To his credit, Nader didn't turn too purple in the face, though I'm not certain he ever said another word that night except "Good. Night. Ladies.".
Kathy-look at # whatever the last thread is-I had a ?? about the guineas after you put a pic on...
Happy Sat'day sistahs.
What's everyone doing today?
I'll be doing a Deborah ;) Hole digging today. Plants that I got from the marketplace and DL Auction came in. I got some Agapanthus and about 5 new DLs.
The brug co-op sent me the wrong plants, hope they will make another journey, Monday. Got them soaking in rainwater, I'm sure they'd perk up better than in tap water.
Bon, that must be the first time Ralph Nader was reduced to a simple retort. Good one!
Marion, hope you have slept well, as best as you can, last night. We know you're tough, but don't be too brave to take on the job of caring for your mum all by yourself. Hope a solution will come up soon, and that your sister will see the light.
Stacey, I saw the pic, and yes they are plump guineas. Maybe Sis is thinking of making gumbo with them?
Be safe everyone.
stacey, guinea don't get ripe silly girl!
What do ya do with em and how big do they git??
at full gron, they will weigh 2-3 pounds. ya let them in the yard to eat bgs. they make excellent watch dogs too
Kathy, when your guineas have chicks, do you seperate them from the adults for a while? I heard that the adults will run through the morning dew and it can kill the chicks by drowning trying to keep up? Is this true?
yes, most guinea are not good mothers. i'm thinking about getting an incubator, then i on't have to worry about them
So you don't eat them??
yes stacey, guinea are very good to eat
Do you eat yours???
not yet, they ain't big enough
you will then-I couldn't do it-if I keep something as a pet I couldn't eat it-that is why I could never live on a farm....
LOL stacey, i was raised on a farm. if we wanted to eat we had to butcher it
