Candyce--They are planted about a foot apart...LOL...but since they have grown, the leaves are all touching.
Ok, I'm getting the "hairy eye ball" look. I'm gonna go pack, we will be leaving tomorrow for our vacation.
I will have very limited email while away, which is either a good thing or a very bad thing :-/
The thing I'm most anxious about...lol...I have about a dozen or so DL's that are new wins from the lily auction that have buds on them, but are no where near going to open up before I leave! darn.
Have a great week everyone, I'm sure I will have lots to catch up on!
Garden Photos - Part 25
mine is a noid too..... we bought it last year at a local nursery... no tags... and no one working there knew what it was... we saw them earlier in the season when they were in bloom and ended up buying one when they had there end of season sale....the smell of them pulled me in when we saw them and Randy loves the height... he said he would like to get more... but I don't know what they are either.... we counted 21 blooms on one stem... and I think it's up to 4 stems ... we won't tell mama then
:)
Dyane and Nanegoat.... I hope that works well for you and actually does save on some of the garden chores! I planted those in soil that is raised and mostly sand with a little bark so that they would drain and dry well. I never get around to lifting anything. For me, once it's in the ground it's there to stay, no matter how good my intentions were to begin with. I wish that I had your diligence and patience!!
I posted it in the lily forum... maybe someone can id it
Good morning! It always makes me happy to see others have as many noids as i do! and glad our secret is safe!! (that's very important!) Do you agree that they may be the same? If not, the height is uncany! Last year that one did form some of those little bulblette things (I don't know what they're called) between the leaf and the stem. I stuck them in the ground and last i looked, I thought that I saw some little leaves coming up. Maybe yours will do the same as a means for obtaining a few more.
oh that would be good. I'll have to find it and check on the answers.
yours look brighter yellow... but that might be from my wonderful ::::coughing:::: soil
other than that.... they do look the same... I mentioned to him we can split that one up... he wasn't too thrilled about digging up something he liked ... he said "no lets see if we can find more... I like the multiple stalks on that one"
haha. the lovely... ahemmmm... soil. That could be it. or maybe yours is in sun and mine never gets direct light? But, we can blame it on the soil if you like!! :-p Yours has multiple stalks? that's cool. Mine is still just the one stalk, but there are what seems to be stems coming up from new bulbs around it. I bet that yours will have those little bulblette things on them too by early to mid fall. I never get around to cutting the stalks down until they've gone brown in the fall. anyhow and those little bulblettes are usually there, hiding and still green. I just pluck them in the ground somewhere near the parent and they seem to be growing ok. My casablanca lillies will make anywhere from 5 to 15 of those little things on almost every stalk. I'm such a sap for live that i'm slowed to a near crawl when cutting the stalks back because i'm investigating every single leaf node on the stalk.

This might be of intrest to those of you who divide hostas.
I tried to find the drawing and note from Garden Gate.
I'ts easy to describe.
The divisions were made with the plant in the ground using a bulb planter.
Just push into the roots and pull out a core of the desired plant.
Here's that link ge1836 mentioned.
It is a Sample Issue of Garden Gate Magazine in PDF form
You might need to get Acrobat Reader to view

Nice garden to visit Redchic. Not too much of a task to stroll in and check up on. Thanks for giving us a tour too.
Onewish nice pots and lilies. Those tall orienpets start to look more like small trees than garden plants don't they.
Kassia as usual very pretty roses that you share. I like them a lot.
Patti all your garden pics and now the lilies are wonderful.
and Celeste you do sem to never run out of beautiful DL blooms to show us, thanks.
wha even find time to post some garden ballons.Nice.
Thanks for the info and link ge and willie.
I have this really tall, thornless, long-stemmed, red rose that I found at the curb in someone's garbage.
Any ideas on an ID? Gets well over 6' tall and might need to be moved. We'll see how she does next summer as the mulberry shading her will get trimmed this year.
ngam: no problem on the link! One thing I learned in college was Boolean Search Techniques. Finally, someone, somewhere gets some use out of it!! :-)
glad to pass on the tip.
I must have read that article at my sisters I don't have that issue.
Thanks WNY
