**SWEET INTERRUPTION** 2

Jaye, we're kinda tucked away at the end of a cove, so nobody usually brings their boat back in here... except fishermen who remember when it was inhabited, and they chummed this channel for catfish... not anymore, so they stay away. As far as kids trampling anything... really don't have a problem with that either. One little girl (the 12 yo helper I mentioned) is the only child on our street. Another neighbor is having her grand kids for the weekend, but she keeps them on a real tight leash... they're good kids anyway, so if they do come around, they're very polite and careful around my flower beds. So, no problems for me this weekend... just gonna stay out of everyone elses way.

Thank you for that link... I went there and wished her well... hope she finds out soon and is able to get it fixed.

good afternoon--went to work in my class room for a couple of hours and back now-too hot to do much in the yard now but i stopped at lowes and no sales!! so sad! i did need a few sprinklers and got those-
bj i am not sore but the tops of my thighs are burned--didn't burn anywhere else-i don't usually wear shorts so i guess that area hasn't seen as much sun
i stopped at our neighborhood farmers market on the way home from bj's and got zuchini, tomatos, beans, and i forget what else but i made the zuchini with the tomatos, onions, basil, breadcrumbs and parmeson the way my mother always did--it was so good! so now i just had some of the leftovers---
will keep betty in my thoughts today

Mmmmm... that sounds good Linda... I'm going to have left over fahitas...

I'm off to do some errands today... and to find "something round" like a ball.

Okay, loads of things to do but have to post for Jojo. Oh Jojo where are you?????

My strawbale garden grows peppers, eggplants and tomatoes. They all bore fruits, and I made a peppery ratatouille...of course adding squash and onions.

my veggie garden is kind of at a stand still--lots of plants but very little produce--might be the extra hot temps? maybe i will feed them tonight and see if that helps-

Four Worms and a lesson to be learned



A minister decided that a visual demonstration would
add emphasis to his Sunday sermon.


Four worms were placed into four separate jars.


The first worm was put into a container of alcohol.

The second worm was put into a container of cigarette smoke.

The third worm was put into a container of chocolate syrup.

The fourth worm was put into a container of good clean soil.



At the conclusion of the sermon, the Minister reported the following results:

The first worm in alcohol - Dead.


The second worm in cigarette smoke - Dead


Third worm in chocolate syrup - Dead



Fourth worm in good clean soil - Alive.

So the Minister asked the congregation -

What did you learn from this demonstration?




Maxine was sitting in the back, quickly raised her hand and said,



'As long as you drink, smoke and eat chocolate,
you won't have worms!'

That pretty much ended the service --

Actually, I layed down, and couldn't find anything on TV ... then I started hearing fireworks pretty close, so I went to investigate... the neighbors are celebrating early just across the street... probably will keep it up all night... sheesh... hope they didn't see me walk out in my night gown... but, oh well, if they did... maybe they'll get idea it's time to go to bed... ya think?

I am so sorry everyone, my evening took a weird turn. Neighbor shows up with noisy skid steer (LOL however you spell it) . Then his wife syas run to HD with me, ok, turns into HD and Target and starbucks. Finally get home and try to get a very excited little boy calmed down because there is a tractor in the yard. Then neighbor's wife shows up with crepe paper and says Lets decorate Zekeys wagon for the parade tomorrow. Not good! Iit's 8:00 and the boy hasn't had a bath. Sigh, so we decorate wagon, finish up about 9:00, get everybody out of the house. DD has given Z his bath so he's getting ready for story time and bed by 9:30. Then DH calls ( he is on a 24 hour shift as a paramedic)"Honey, you know that final exam I have to take for my online class, well I have been so busy that I haven't taken it. It has to be finished by 11:30. I love you!"
Uggh so DD had to put Zman down, not easy as he wanted Mommy! And I took a test on the priciples of marketing, which I know Jack about. Had a 1 1/2 hour time limit so had to hurry. LOL I was speed reading I tell ya!! Got the test finished at 11:16. Then finally fed myself LOL. I tell you I'm so tired not sure i'm going to make the parade tomorrow! I am so sorry about the pictures. I promise I will post some tomorrow,between the parade then the hayride and bar b que and then fireworks. Or maybe I'lll just sleep in since I have such good company now!! ;~)

We had planned to bar b ques but at 3 ish I remembered I hadn't marinated the chuck roast so tomorrow for that. We will celebrate with the good ole American hot dog, cole slaw and apple pie!!!

happy 4th! oh that brisket does sound good and i make a good brisket too! but it is a lot of work and --well i guess i don't feel like working that hard today! plus someone mentioned KFC and now that is on my mind--talk about easy! the other thing about brisket is that it cooks in the oven slowly for like 13 hours or more! and with 95 temps who wants the oven on?! jo jo those parade days are fun when the kids are young! in fact kids make all the holidays more fun! i am not a grandmother yet but it must be great! relive all those kid times the easy way!

Mornin Linda... Yep... it's a lot of work to do brisket right... my son makes the best BBQ I ever ate... he marinates his over night in BEER... then slow cooks it on the grill with his homemade sauce... he's really missed his calling, I think he should open a BBQ restaurant.

My grandkids are all teens, and no longer interested in things like FAMILY... what a bother... their FRIENDS have taken over their lives... but they'll come back to us someday... we'll be important to them again, I'm sure.
