Garden Photos - Part 19
'I'd like to see this in a 9 W, Z 7A, please.'
Way to go, Debi. Hadn't found the hummer/butterfly forum - I assume there are lots of pictures of your babies(are they still babies if they morf?)
Fine shots Victor and everyone else, too. So much great plant material growing in every one's garden or in their neighbors. I must take a day to catch up. I went away for a few days and came back to lots more lilies out and garden looking finally full. Lots of weeds too. Here are a few collages of some of what caught my attention this morning. Patti
Thanks, Patti. Is that a JI? Very pretty. I am seeing many Japanese beetles.
Patti-gorgeous pics.
i have a lot of little brown spotted beetles... Are those JBs?
This is a jap beetle.

I have the brown ones too and I need to find out what they are.
I LOVE your yard!!! Is puppy a border collie? I love dogs, too!
Great wide shots, Patti.
Very nice shots everyone.
They are 6 year old sister border collies from the same litter of 6. Their mother belongs to our vet on Nantucket and their father is a working herding dog on the Cape. They couldn't be more different in looks and personalities. Both love to dig holes in the garden. I always take it to mean that I need more plants. Patti
Hahaha - your dogs are your enablers...
Ha, I found a new hole tonight. I am thinking it will require a nice big clump of astilbe that I saw last time I was there. I have lots of astilbe, but I think this one would be a new one for me.
I have dear friends arriving on Thurs. who use to have no garden in their Tribeca NYC loft, thus I could con them into major yard work when they would come to visit. But alas they bought an "up country" house in the Hudson River Valley and now come and raid my beds for their young garden. So I will have buy more to replace the holes they will leave when they pillage my beds. Happy to give them as much as they can tot home in exchange for some pruning help and their company at the nursery to help figure out what I need next in the garden. Love enablers, 4 legged or two, plus all those online ones too, like you all.
Found a picture of DH working in the veggie bed while I was snapping away. Patti
Lovely photos Patti, I so enjoyed the trip through your yard!
Not sure there is a tag/label, Patti, but I will check. The chinensis will be starting soon. I like them a lot too. More sun/heat tolerant and they spread to a nice cover.
Good morning all, wonderful pictures Patti your gardens are lovely I especially like the astilbe w/hosta and other shade plants, my currant project.
Victor!greatcloseups as usual and the lilies from down under was a blast.
Do the chinenses astilbe have the finer whaspier blooms?
I am also looking for some dwarf astilbs for fountain garden.
Went to visit and weed for girlfriend who had back surgery, she showed me her "ornamental Oregano" grows with other rock plants on the wall.
I don't know where she bought it.
I bought mine at high country gardens

Isn't that beautiful?
I don't have rocks anywhere except where I want to plant. Is it only a cascading wall plant?
beautiful pics!! Patti, how large is your property?
DL 'Wedding Band'--had 2 open today---here is the close up. Thus far this is one of my favorite white/greens. Didn't realize that it had a serrated edge to it. Not sure if/what I will get, but I did attempt my first DL cross today. Put pollen from WB to BS, so I hope BS is as easy as a pod parent as what I have read!!!
I like Bella, i've had WB for years.....yours looks way more yellow than mine. Must be the zones.
Bella looks nice. I like the desert rose.
