Jackmanii gone crazy

Nice blooms, Harper! Bill, I would make the 90 pound person weed. Wouldn't need any back-walking.

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

I'll see your Jackmanii and add 2 Polish Spirit.

Nice clump, Andy. What was the critter that was eating your hardy hibiscus, Andy?? One of mine is getting eaten alive.

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

Victor, I have only one hardy Hibiscus left and it's getting eaten up. It's in the back, hard to reach so too-da-loo, lol.
Sow bug larva. The small ones are usually under the leaf. Watch for small black flies.

Victor, I'm trying to remember what was eating my hibiscus last year - it was the only thing I used sevin on. They are little green catapillars - you can barley see them, and they turn into a type of fly? I was thinking saw tooth fly, but don't see anything like that. I'll keep looking. The leaves ended up as skeletons.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

That looks like them Andy.

Thom, I love mini plants... there is just something about miniature things that appeal to me... even newborn babies ... such a tiny human being... little puppies... kittens... and now plants...I got dwarf hostas by accident also...
BTW the one you gave me last year is really pretty... I would not call it a mini but its probably a dwarf one...

Victor that first daylily is gorgeous....

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

I feel like the Phoenix rising from the ashes. Went to NC for a bit and came home to gardens on the wane. Glad I got a nudge from a fellow Dger to check in here. Everything is looking great for y'all. (something I picked up down south :)) So I wandered out today with the camera after pulling many, many weeds. Still don't think I hit the 50% ratio as far as the weeds are concerned. Here's one I grew from seed, which is extrodinary in itself. I'm not the best at seed growing. I think it is honeywort or commonly known as shrimp plant.

Thom--you are such a bargain hound! Get some cash & go to the casino! I also weeded today---spiderwort is taking over in 1 garden! I think this is the worst year I've had for flowers--just too much foliage--I have lemon lilies out & 2 other nothing special DL's. Hope I can post a few things that are blooming--mainly asiatic lilies. The hostas are looking OK--here is Northern Halo.

Welcome back, Weeze - nice shot. The hosta looks happy, Robin. Here's a different view of Jolyene - with some sun.

Right back at ya Victor. Jolyene is beautiful. I'd like to get a few more Dls with the full recurved petals. They're so voluptuous. Here's a shot of a Blue Angel leaf that will be going to new homes this fall. Just a bit sunbleached

I like any post that contains 'recurved' and 'voluptuous'!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

love the purple winky... do you have it planted by your pinky winky?

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Victor, if we ever forget how sexy flowers really are, you are sure to remind us :) This is balloon flower with hand held over the flash. Interesting color but not true. it is actually very blue

A new way for me to try to keep track of plants. Paint pen on stone. So far it has withstood sun, rain , hail. Love to see it withstand winter

HEY, I just noticed I forgot the "L" Is there an eraser for paint pens?? LOL

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Oh, I love mimosa trees Louise. They're not weeds to me. Hi Andy! You're very much missed around here. Good to see you. Yup, your Jackmanii wins over mine. I fall.

I tried posting more pictures earlier, but they never went through. Here I'll try again. My first bachelor button.

Whir-l-wind. I have whirwind written which sounds more like a carnival ride. Although they're fun too, if you don't fall off and die...I'm starting to feel like my old self again !! :)

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Ditto on Onewish. Chianti is stunning Harper.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Eeek! I don't rember what this asiatic lily is called. Behind (barely) it is clematis 'The President'. Does it matter which President? Maybe it's the President of all Clematis?

Double ditto.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Thanks Allison and Weeze! It's a hardy, healthy one too! None of my AL's came back nearly as good as this one. I'm impressed they came back at all after all the neglect I gave them. It's the true test of a good plant. Neglect.

Speaking of neglect, I think that's the best way to get my epiphylums to bloom. I don't know the name of this one. It's from my MIL.

And Dancing Shiva is another of those sexy DLs :) I'm not surprised that it came from Pirl as we know that she gardens in silk pajamas.
