No new flowers since the last ones, waiting for the Hydrangea to do its thing.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Forgot to post these.
Went to HD to buy bulb food and slug poison and also came home with three new Astilbes for the DL garden
in red for your amusement
DG cropping eliminated one I think.

Thanks - yes it's very active, Bill. 'Viral', as they say!

'Moonlit Masquerade'---FFO...yeah. This, and 'Canadian Border Patrol' are two of my top favorite DL's. Love the light/dark eye combo!

Here is another .25 cent bag-o-lily bloom.

First bloom on my 'Lady in Red' hydrangea...although, it should be 'Lady in Blue'...lol.

'Snowbound'...I think this is a little to young in the flower cycle, either that or I was sent the wrong Dahlia...the flower petals are supposed to twist and be sort of tentacle like. I will take a pic in a day or two if the flower does anything funky!

Thom, MM is one of my favorites too along with CBP and 'Please Say Yes'. Oh and 'Maxfield Parrish'. Oh heck...don't think there is a DL I don't like!

Victor, I need to get Jolyene Nichole....it's the only DL that spells my DD name right. Nichole.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Nice shots, Thom and Jen. MM is nice - reminds me of Pandora's Box. Jolyene is really gorgeous, Celeste.

Does anyone have any idea what 'Summer's Angel' looks like? It's a DL I got as a bonus from the lily auction...(don't tell Paul, I'm still bidding and winning...lol!)

It's an E. Salter '02 intro...but, that's about all the information I can find on it.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

This is all AHS says, though you probably saw it:

Summer's Angel (Salter-E.H., 2002)
height 26", season EM, bloom 3.75", Rebloom, foliage sev. , Tetraploid
yellow self above green throat
(MY SPECIAL ANGEL X sdlg)

Kershaw, SC(Zone 8b)

lol...'ya know me so well...lol.

blah, it's got a tiny flower...fooey. It breaks my less than 5.5" rule for flower diameter :-/

Although...I wonder how green it gets? hmmm...could be interesting.

Thanks Victor!

No problem, Thom. That's cool, Celeste - should be tutti-fruitti.

You don't like mini DL's??? I love them, love big ones too but that beside the point!

I have many mini weeds.

heehee
My sister came over today and said she loved my garden because there were no weeds, or if there were, she couldn't see them.
She couldn't see them.

I ask all people with glasses to remove them when they visit my garden.

Kershaw, SC(Zone 8b)

I ended up collecting mini hostas, but not on purpose. Some people out there in hosta land included about 6 as bonus hosta, and I think Jim, and Jim's Hostas has a surplus. The last 3 times I either ordered from him, or won items on the hosta library's auction site, he sent me a mini bonus. I have about 15 or so mini hosta. I don't dislike the smaller flowering DL's, BUT, huge big ole BUT, if I'm gonna bid upward of $50 or so, or drop a couple of $$, I want it to really really count. I like 'em big and bold ;-)

get rid of your weeds - i weed every two/three weeks - takes about a day - i do it over two days. with all the stunning flowers/plants/trees to see crab grass, clover, or some other weed. can't stand them.
Weeding would be much easier if there was someone about 90 pounds with small feet to walk on me afterward.
