I let my daughter name our last 3 kitties, they are as follows; Mama Meow Meow, her daughter Scardy Cat, and Fluffy Dirtball. LOL ^_^
Help with Moms yard :o)
LOL sounds like my daughter's names! She is 15 and still gives animals names like Fluffy Star Pie. Needless to say I didn't let her name the Bulldogs!
Speaking of Bridget I have a pic for you, gonna go post it over on the "Nut" thread!
Lol! well my kids named my Dusty :o) but theres a story :o)
I brought home this lil fluffball siamese kitten 10 wks old .. who was VERY active and ATTACKED everything in site.... His name from previous owner was 'Angel' cause HE was mistaken for a SHE. well, I was NOT going to have a male called ANGEL! lol! so asked the kids what they wanted to call him.... DD loved the name Angel and didnt want to change it. But the boys wanted something different :o)
So one morning kitty was going beserk attacking everything in site and kids were playing with him and having a ball.... I just woke up and hadnt had any coffee yet (need at least a pot before my eyes open!) and the kids asked me...hey mom ...how bout "Angel Dust" as a name? Now I knew the name was familiar, but being half awake... It sounded like a compromise.... so I said 'sure'.....
later that morning (several cups of coffe later!) kids were calling out "angel dust!" and it hit me! oh my! we cant call him THAT!!! lolol! well, at the moment kitty was trying to get a moth on the ceiling and jumped from the counter straight up at the ceiling, missed the moth and then fell but fell to the ground instead of the counter. My 3 yr old son looked at him and said "thats a stupid cat!" my older son said "thats a crazy cat!" and then I thought...well, maybe angeldust IS a good name!
we never really called him Angel Dust, thankfully cause he did outgrow that 'crazy' stage of attacking us everytime we moved.... his name was promptly shortened to 'Dusty' cause he's siamese and looks like he just dusted the furniture (and he does!!) but the kids and I have always known his REAL NAME and joke about it every so often.
try explaining to a couple of kids that dont even know WHAT drugs are... that Angel dust is a drug and you cant name your kitty that! lolol! Once they were older and really understood... it just became more funny :o)
Dusty used to get up on top of the open door, balancing on the door...and wait for the kids to come down the hallway....then he'd take a flying leap and 'attack!' LOL! kids were afraid to walk around the house and never wore shorts! lol!
That's a crazy pet name story! Along a similar line: When my son was four, we got a guinea pig with bright pinkish -red eyes. When I asked him what he would like to name her, he innocently suggested 'Pink Eye' and was hard to dissuade even when I explained that was the name of a sickness that makes your eyes red and itchy. I helped him come up with other words that could describe her eye color, and he finally settled on 'Ruby Eye' which was shortened to Ruby most often.
lol! we have had fish named 'oreo' 'quiet' & 'hush!'
oh and then there were the birds... 'big bird' 'elmo' and 'snuffulupagus' :o)
Your fisht names are pretty creative, our last one was named Steve and out current Betta is Carl LOL
We had a black and white cat that was part siamese wander in one day so my daughter named her Velvet. And began to call her Velvet, Queen of the Pussies. We had her for 17 years.
Tils is it hard to get that eyeliner on your cat. Looks neat!^_^
Sorry no dice, If I tryed that I would look like hamburger, Its real all her own doing and eyes ice Blue. I wish I had them LOL.
Neat names on kitties, and the stories behind them., Too cute.

tapping foot!
You know how I respond to the tapping foot, eh? If you think you will get what you want, THINK AGAIN!!!! Just ask my DS...........LOLOL gotta Love Ya Sis!
So, for good measure, here is your 1st pix. just cuz Jem is showing off for the ladies so much these days, thought he could strut his stuff for others too......... ^_^
Cheryl, just wanted to let you know that the flower you called a begonia is really a daylily. The begonias haven't bloomed yet.
Mom
It looks so great. Lots of stuff coming along.
OOPS!!!! See how much I know? ^_^
tee hee.. well you BOTH stand to be corrected!
Begonia/Daylily is actually a LILY! asiatic to be exact :oD
tee hee! I'm such a 'know-it-all!'
I see lots of caladiums coming up too...
and little sky lilies :o) fairy lilies! you all need to get closer shots for me! like the snow pea shots :o) so I can watch them all grow! lol!
Well... If you move up here you could check it out every week. The hydrangia by the porch doesn't look like it is very happy. Don't know if it is going to make it or not. Everything else, including the one you thought wasn't going to make it is still alive. Amazing!
Mom
At least I was close. It looks like a daylily to me.
Mom
Everything seems to be growing right along! I am still amazed at the yard grass gone and now there is paths, bench, rock borders, pots, etc. It looks so cute! I bet you just love going out there during the day! :-)
Please keep updating us! I am enjoying seeing the progress! :-) Anjl's doing my yard next! LOL!
BTW - Cheryl - Your peacock is beautiful! It sure brings back memories from when I lived near the college that had those birds everywhere! :-) They are amazing to watch! :-)
Yeah, I love wandering through my garden checking out anything new. Pretty soon I will have a bowl full of strawberries. This is so much nicer than all that grass.
Pat
Well finally got through this thread. You are all to be commended for all your hard work. Look forward to seeing the progression.
Guess I should have thought longer and harder about a name when I joined this site....Maybe, AnjlsAunt or something, huh.
Love,
Aunt Sharon
Hi Aunt Sharon. Didn't those girls give you the memo about the family naming convention? Shame on them!!
roflmbo! sheesh! i tried to get DH to sighn up... you know ... AnjlsDH? something like that.... no way! lol! he said he'll just leave the 'research' to me! tee hee! little does he know I'm researching mroe 'projects' for him!
can you get me a pix of the hydrangea? it may be not enough water, or not enough sun...
if you can get me a close up of the whole bush, and a close up of the leaves?
'we' (cheryl & mom?) may just have to dig it up and plant it more in the sun :o)
Aunt sharon...they will change your name here on DG if you ask them to, but they will only do it one time! so ya gotta make sure you really like the new name!
((hugs)) AnjL
