OMG Ves, we are getting a new store in Midway. Maybe they will send you there to work, then I can torment you!! Must understand Midway is a blink of the eye and you are through to the other side--usually with a trooper waiting with a speeding ticket.
Love the irises! Tired those but I am obviusly doing something wrong. Just continue growing them and showing the pic will do!
Best/ worse/ ? did you learn today #45 visit with friends...
Right Betty, I can see this now! Bet they spend more time keeping you out of trouble. LOL
Betty if there is any way we can get you some of the hens and chicks let me know. I have tons of them and lots of babies that need homes! I've just been moving a few of them around so next year there will be more. They grow really good for me. In the fall I put a bunch in a dishpan and winter them over in the greenhouse and it gives them a quick start in the spring.
Don't know how much they check the trunk when you cross over back into Canada lol..might hit a nursery or two while visiting with Judy and Liz..know I'll be crafting but hope I can see a nursery along the way, if not real plants then maybe some seeds for next year...thanks for the offer..
Well, years ago not to well on checking since I went in with a baby alligator under my feet!
haha, Betty...Hmmm, lets see now, drag racing with loud vehicles, flirting with the cute guys in libraries and restraunts...Hmmm me thinks we will be keeping you from mischif. Or better yet, learning a good lesson right Marion?
Ves July 7-14. Will have to not toss Liz in a dumpster for bowlings balls and take a run up north instead. Soon as Betty gets here will hit the road again!
Thanks Bev. Never thought a geranium looked like that. wow, I am so not a good plant researcher. Hey Bev...l am going to do a map quest and see exactly where you are.
OMG Liz, going to need another week!
Bowling balls? Where I am having a hard time finding them down here! Guess that is what us southerns do for a past time--bowl. well other things too
Seed I agree--I think she could teach us all a few lessons! Pupil # 1 signing on!
Judy you are so funny. Still giggling! I think you all need to keep an eye on each other. LOL
Seed, I am 35mile staight south of Springfield on Rt 4. Betty to answer your ? I am supposed to watch Blue for leathergy, coughing and his coat getting dull and falling out. So far so good. He is such a sweety. Here is his pic. BEV As soon as I find pics will send
Marion, couldn't find bowling balls around here either so I opted for the nice large glass globes they put over lightbulbs..working out fine..did one with glass pieces and now am doing a larger with dollar store glass globs..no pattern, just random color..think they are pretty but don't want to waste mega time on them when they will be hidden by flowers..lol
Want to see just how bored I am today?
Got to go to lunch...
WIll tell you when I get back...maybe you can guess it..lol
Betty I sent you a pics of Blue and posted it on Hosta forum DUH!!!
Will go check Bev...thanks
You've got it here Bev...how old is Blue, has signs of age, don't you just hate it, Sailor is showing hip problems, oddities in her behavior, know what's coming..she'll be my last dog though..too tied down..wouldn't be without her but once she's gone..no more!
This is a differant one Betty. The other one is still in hosta gang. Blue is only 7 yrs old. They say they gray early with heart worm. Did you find the other post? We have a 20 yr old Peekapoo and I don't want any more dogs either. It hurts too much to lose them!!!
I went and scanned the hosta forum, couldn't find it..
Bev, he isn't old just distinguished (that doesn't look like it is spelled right--probably isn't! Brain and fingers aren't working together again.
Oh my Gosh, Ves, The white Iris is absolutely Stunning!! Wow...Think i will have to get some! i wish they would stay in bloom longer as well.
Bev, poor blue. so sorry for his troubles. Hope he gets well soon.
Well...yikes mgr just waltzed through here so i better get back to work.
LOL, she never come when i am super busy but always seems to hone in when i am playing. Poohh, now i gott a go.
See you all later.
Betty it is in Who's in this hosta Gang. The second one down now with Eurine as the topic starter.
Went to visit the site, let's just hope everything will be ok...Erynne started the hosta thread..we talk quite a bit, her sister (who was on DG at one time) lives in my town..Erynne comes up from time to time to visit Gatrix Lily Farm...lol..
I missed alot today as I have been on the computer applying for jobs. Not a lot of jobs here and the pay is crappy too, but the good jobs are in Aerospace and government and prison jobs which are in hiring freeze thanks to our Governator. No comments please so I don't get kicked off.
Betty we ordered a solar pump for a fountain on Ebay, it worked once and then we asked the guy about it, who sold it to us and he sent us a new one, we got it cheap though and we are ready to set up the claw foot fountain soon.
Dawn, will say prayers that something comes up within the Aerospace or prison for you (not as an inmate but working) lol..nothing Dawn like hearing the sound of water, it's so relaxing..never mind a pond or fountain, just have to look outside and see the heavy rains, doesn't quite make you relaxed, more worried about driving home in it with all the crazies...
Did you say Dawn in a previous post that you knew the gender of the baby or was that Laura..2 new grandma's..
Did you ever have a day that won't END? Today is my day..another 40 minutes..think I've been watching the clock since 9:00 am..unbelievable..hae books here to read 'Joyce Meyer - approval addiction' / 'how to avoid housework' and 4 garden magazines - am so bored that I can't even read or look at them..any suggestions?
Oh, did do something before lunch..
Know how I want to do a 'DG Friendship Garden' this year, still waiting for topsoil, but haven't had time or energy to get at it, well I did do a bit..anyway, wanted to put up a 4x4 and do signage for the garden..came up with the following ..
Each sign will be painted, with a flower or greenery of some kind and names and mileage put on it..so did get some of the mileage done (need to do a few more) have the wood, so maybe this weekend I can make a few...
Herbie 548/Liz2,239/Ruby 699/Bev 760/Marion 1,278/Judy 611/Doc 683/Shar 861/ Dawn 2,549, Vicki 928, Laura 10,557/Cathy 1,175/Carol 133/Gita 582/Jaye 981/Jeannine 582/Rachel 2,485
Now you all know just how bored I am..lol
She is a girl and her name will be Baily, she is due in the beginning of Sept.
I called my Nightmare boss that laid me off to ask about my profit sharing now that I don't have to claim it on my unemployment or disability. She offered me a temporary job at the front desk for $12 an hour, but my instinct said, "Run, Run for your life". I called my friend Vlad to see if it was all the mellow, atmosphere she claimed that it was now, as opposed to the atmosphere from Hades that it was when I was there. He said, No it is worse. That lady always knows how to butter you up if she needs something and like a Viper she will turn, she lies too and they always breed disharmony between staff members to get them to tell on each other secretly.
I have scars from that place and that is why I don't want to work for anything but civil service here. I treat people good and work hard and do not handle that chaos well at work.
Baily, girlfriend Diane's grandaughter is called Baily...such a nice name...September is not that far off..Suzanne's daughter is scheduled to have her on Sept.11th. so I'll be excited to see photo's of both..
Stay away from that place Dawn, give yourself more healing time and time to see what is out on the market job wise..you've only stopped your studies recently, know you want to be working soon but don't rush into something, there will be a perfect job for you...no fun working under stressful conditions...
Thank you Betty, I knew in my heart it was a bad move for me after 8 years of stress. My stomach hurts and my face is flushed and my headache is coming back just hearing about it. I called Greg and he said, "I am 100% sure that I do not want you back there."
I called his X wife who is looking for a job and my step dd too, they both just got out of school one for medical billing and the other for Medical Asst., I told Bev, Greg's X, that they are tough sometimes but that she is a tough cookie unlike me, she laughed and said she would call right away. I said since my step kid Cassandra worked in a Chiropractic office already that maybe they would hire them both.
Is that mean? I did warn them and Heidi (old boss) should take as a nice gesture even though I don't want the job.???
I didn't realize that I hadn't told you all of my upcoming trip to Alaska June 16 through 24th. I was invited by Ava to come to Carol Eads's memorial service on June 21, and to stay and visit with Ava the week before. I am very excited about the trip, since I have not been to Alaska, and can't wait to meet Carol's family. June 21 is also Summer Solstice, so I am going to do an article on the solstice, the Land of the Midnight Sun, and will also do an article on Alaskan Gardens. Ava has promised to take me to see everything there is to see. I am going sort of as a representative of the thread Carol's Journey, that was started last October when she discovered she had a brain tumor and was not going to live. The thread continues even now, with those of us who were regular visitors from October on, so the purpose of the trip is maybe ghree fold. At anyrate, I am excited to have the opportunity.
My daughter Ashley is on her way now to spend the summer with me, and will return to Florida in late August for her fall classes. She will be a great help, since I want to paint the interior of my house. She will get a job while here, though...still she will be here if I need her to paint the high spots, or if I get tangled up on top of the ladder. It will be good tohave her. And Ethan dearly loves his Aunt Ash.
So that is my story, and I just now realized it had not been shared with you. Sorry about that.
I will be back before time to start new secret pals. By the way Jaye, start watching your mail, I am going to send yours all at once since I will be gone a big chunk of June.
You'all have a great rest of the evening, I need to clean out an Ashley closet!
I am so excited for you Shar that will just do the body and the heart and mind good ^_^
Oh my, someone is expecting a little one on September 11th. Nice date for a birthday or atleast it used to be. What a lovely name, Bailey.
Sharran where does your daughter go to school in Florida?
It is beginning to look really nasty here.
She is in graduate school at Nova in Fort Lauderdale.
Very good, was just thinking if it was UF ( shame on me!) or FSU I am close to both. Might could drop in--could anyways when the remodeling is finished. What is her major?
Thanks Bev, great hosta!
Marion, She has an undergraduate degree in Chemistry, one in marine biology, and is now entering a program in anaesthesiology. She had always planned on med school, but does not want the responsibilities, insurance, malpractice, etc....so she is going into something like physician's assistant (P.A.) but is specific to Anaesthesiology....so it will be an A.A degree instead of PA. She would work under an anaesthesiologist, who would be responsible for all of the paper work/ins. that she doesn't want the responsibility of.
If she doesn't like that she can always do something with marine biology, or chemistry. She is just a very excellent student, and good in a lot of things, so she can never decide on just one. The further she goes, the more scholarships she gets. fine with me...I sure couldn't pay her way! Son is like that too, he has a degree in physics and is a patent lawyer for the government....is considering getting his Masters in Business as well. I don't pay his way either!!
I did a similar thing, too....degrees in Art History, Ancient history, studio art, Humanities, English and Old Testament History.....I just was not science oriented like my kids are. I guess we all just like to learn.
Bob was strictly history and data processing, he wasn't into any of the areas that the kids and I were interested in. Never a boring moment at our house all those years, you never knew what the dinner conversation would be about.
Well....I sure did give you more information than you ever wanted to know, didn't I.
morning all.
nasty migraine this morning... yuk
class went well thanks... plodding along
will post more when i can see straight.
Gosh I gave it to you I guess. When is your granddaughter coming?
Sharran, no I like hearing what others are/have done. My daughter was told after 7 years to pick a major!! Finally settled on Spanish and is only calculus short of a degree in Geology. You should be very, very proud. I am sure you are. Enjoy the trip to Alaska inspite of the circumstances and do enjoy having your daughter home.
Oh Laura, what is it with everyone having migraines lately? Hope you are feeling better soon.
Hello to everyone. Wow, that was a lot of reading again. I think the first thing that I can remember from reading this thread was that Vicky (?) asked about birthday party pictures. Still haven't had the time to get on computer yet. Will try later today. This morning I have a massage. When I have appointments and such early, it kind of throws my day off. Will eventually get to them and post here. Thanks for asking.
Sounds like everyone else is very, very busy. Oh my gosh, I would love to be a fly on the wall when Liz, Seed and Betty get together. So much fun, I am sure.
Well, I jneed to scoot along. Will try to check again later today. Have a great day everyone.
Ruby
Morning, dark gloomy rain day, storm is brewing..lordy they are paving the parking lot, not sure what they are using but the noise is loud and the office windows shaking..didn't think they would continue paving with this rain but guess they are on a time schedule...
Was an early night last night 8pm - in bed sound asleep, woke up this a.m. at 5am-got dressed, made coffee, got myself an afghan and slept until Suzanne called me to say it way time to leave..lazy bones..might as well get rested up because it's painting class tonight..
