Just as well Liz http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/856028/
Stay away from the desert this year.
That sounds so fun, wish I was not so broke and looking for a job or I'd crash that party too.
Best/ worse/ ? did you learn today #45 visit with friends...
wish you could to.... omg now those i'd be running away from to yikes!
It was found 2 miles from my house in a straight line with no cross streets between there and my house except dirt roads. Creeps me out, you know I have those big evergreen Attriplex shrubs in front, across from me is 10 acres of desert. yikes!!!!
What a cutie patoodie and your grandson is cute too.
hi all.. been busy this weekend and oh so tired now...
chat soon
hugs to all!
Good Morning,
Ohhh...Love this photo of Ethan!! What a happy happy boy.
Nice Smoke tree picture too!
Dawn, No can't say that I am sad at all. LOL, cried like a babe on grad day last friday! Just because our girl, growing up and went through hell, My gratitude for this was overwhelming. But...She has come out on top. Doing awsom too. Has a good job with benefits and college funding. LOL, We are all so proud, all our sad is behind us. My brother was the only one to make it to party. We were all happy for that. He has 4 lil kids and not always able to get away. So it is good to see him! OMG we had such a good time reminicing her Ladybug days.
That is what people called her when she was little. hehe, wanted to keep a bunny for a pet!...
So, party is done and I am one exhausted mom! Weather was gorgeous and all my iris opened for a slpendid display, smiling here lots of compliments on them! LOL, even overlooked the weeds. Not going to do much of anything today except visit with baby brother and enjoy the day out on the deck.
So you enjoy the day too. See you later, LOL going back to bed!
I have much the same plans as you do Judy. I was in yard for a bit earlier but have decided to stay indoors in the cool versus getting eaten by bugs outside. I still have a lot of plants that need to go in the ground, but they will have to wait until another day.
We had a party yesterday too. It was Emily's first birthday party. I can't believe that she is one year old now. She began walking about a week ago and is so funny to watch. She still doesn't like to walk by herself but is really going to town when pushing her toy lawnmower.
I took some pictures but hadn't downloaded them yet. I will share when I have a chance.
I hope that everyone will have a wonderful day today and a great week coming up. Take care all.
Ruby
Just went out and put slug killing powder under all 135 hostas and 100 babies and had to wear a mask that I hate!! Sweat still running down my face as I type. I am a terrific sweater but thats good, supposed to take all the meaness out HA!! Got to go to the camper and do some things today. We sold our one lot across the woods from us. We dodn't use it so had to mow anyway so that helps. Going to divide "ventricosa" hostas and put them arround the two big trees. No today. I have already had enough heat till this evening when it cools a little. It was 88 in this trailer yesterday but I am not turning the air on untill I can't stand it. Can't get breezes through the windows because all property arroun us is higher and they just go over the top unless wind is blowing good. When do you announce the Sps? I guess arround the last of JUne?
Dragon I hate when the sweat starts in the garden because it always goes in my eyes and burns and then I am too dirty to wipe it off. I must look a sight, with Mascara running everywhere and continuing on.
I wish we could grow Hostas. My sister can in here zone in Northern Ca. but not me in this heat.
Judy I have been an empty nester for the last year and kind of for the most part the previous year since my son didn't want to come to my house every other week like he always did before the divorce. He was a senior and just wanted to be close to all his friends. I moved to the boonies and he knew nobody.
It has it's merits but sometimes I miss the regular interaction w/him. I am going to be a Grandma for the first time in a few months so my dd stays kind of close. I see her at Church every Sunday too. I am waiting for them both to come over and eat Roast, which they begged me to cook, since I hate it and never cook it.
Dawn, I can not believe those snakes. That is one definite advantage to living here. I'll take snow and blackflies anyday.
I've been so busy this past week. It's nice to come on here and get caught up in what everyone has been up to. The weather has been beautiful this weekend. Yesterday I prepared the vegetable beds for planting. I figure that over the next couple of weeks I'll harden the plants off and get them in the garden. There's a Home and Garden show in Moosonee next week so I'm excited to go to that. A couple of my friends are going with me too. I'm going to take our double stroller so we can load all of our purchases in that. I've fit a two-year-old and 3 four-year-olds in it at the same time so we should be able to load it up nicely. It's times like this that I wish we could just drive across the river instead of having to worry about loading and unloading things in a boat.
Friday there was an awards assembly at the school. Sonora has been taking grade 4 math this year (she's in grade 3 for everything else) and she got the academic award in her grade 4 class this month for her work doing long division. She was really surprised.
Most of the water in our back yard is gone. Thank goodness. Last year it dried up in just a couple of weeks but it's been taking ages this year. Last weekend I got out a rubbermaid container and let Sonora get in and pretend it was a boat. It was a lot tippier than I expected it to be. She got soaked. I tried it out too with a bit more success but I still ended up filling my rubber boots when I got out of the 'boat'. For some reason Sonora's friend didn't want to try it out. Keith was not impressed that we ended up soaking 3 pairs of rubber boots (including the insulated ones that he likes to wear).
I am so excited. Only 4 weeks left of school. I'll be babysitting a 10-month-old girl for the last two weeks of school so that may get a little crazy but it's so nice to be at the 'last stretch'. I can hardly wait.
When I see snakes..I'm off running...see...I scroll down as fast as I can...away from tthem!!!
Sorry folks for MIA. No excuses, is being busy with 2 swaps a good one?
Betty, we've been missing you. Hope all's well with you and your mum.
Shall keep your seat dust-free until your return.
Oh yeah...Laura, hope you'd like the material I'll be sending Monday. Sent you enough to play around with.
Love to all!
Blessings Galore!
Jaye
Sorry to share this with you, the snakes that is. I found out when my dd house sat this past week for us she killed a rattler with her car, on purpose in the road. Good. I love animals but this is a bit much.
morning all,
dawn i remember rock hounding and looking for fossils out in the desert with my 1st dh and we would be far from the road always had a long stick with us, but i can remember further in we got as we walked im sure close to their burrow's you could hear the rattles going off! it was pretty scary and made us think twice about going any further lol but that pic is something else!
shar, he is just the cutest!! i cant believe how much he has grown since the last pic how cool is the gift you got from ruby smoke tree is so nice!
gilli, whoo hoo now you'll be right with us in spring, finally i was begining to think the snow would never leave your area lol how nice for sonora she must be so excited.
now dont ask me why but that does sound like alot of fun in a rubbermaid container!!
bev, johnny jump ups are always refreshing to look at!
betty, the yard is just beautiful! wow! lot of work , and speaking of swaps lol i see your always the first one at the post office standing in line lol how are you doing?
didnt see you post yesterday, omg went to inlaws wanted to bring fil a project so i brought 8 blue bottles and a bottle cutter wanted to make a wind chime with three top sort of a bell style with some stained glass hanging below..i guess this is why they make directions lol...

jeannine how are you doing? how was ds game?
hi cat, doc, abbi, vicki everyone have a great day
What a beautiful morning! Hello everyone. I have tried several times to post but have resorted to using my daughter's computer. Out to buy a new wireless system today--enough is enough.
I love the sailing in a rubbermaid tub--what fun. When my son was little he used to build rafts and try going downstream in the creek behind our house. Never suceeded but oh! the fun he had.
Sharran, what a doll! Future Prince Charming! Love the pic of the things Ruby sent to you. How nice!
Hellnz--Congratulations on about to become a grandmother. When is the baby due? I don't know what I would do with out my granddaughters--they provide so much joy not to mention the entertainment factor!!! The things that come out of their mouths at their ages. You can keep the snakes, tho. YUCK!!! I am right behind--nope maybe ahead of Jaye going the opposite direction!!!
I must just be lucky or the slugs haven't found my hosta yet. That must be a huge chore to have to do. Of course, I don't have as many as you do so maybe they just haven't gotten the word yet. Shish--we'll keep it a secret!
Laura, finally found a piece of fabric for you. Would have been faster but it has been packed so long, I forgot for a moment what I was actually looking for and started just "loving" on it!! I miss my good friends--yeap my fabric is my friend. They provide me hours of enjoyment. Will send you piece soon.
Good morning to everyone else. Hope you day is good, your plants healthy and have fun what ever you will be doing. Need to get dressed to go spend more money. Just wish it was plants and not a wireless system.
One never learns, just typed an entire post, went to check on a photo and lost it…I’ll start using as many of you do Word Perfect and then ‘copy/paste’ might seem a little longer but in the long run it avoids getting frustrated with losing a major post…
So here we go, didn’t go AOL just did some resting, working and did manage to play ‘crafts’..
Friday after work enjoyed a few hours of shopping for shoes and an outfit..always makes one ‘smile’
Sat. morning of course did the church ‘plant sale’ many goodies there but by the time I got home it was starting to rain so off I went to Midland for a few purchased, an hour later it had cleared..thought I’d go to Mae’s birthday luncheon for ½ hr. but many friends were there so stayed for abut 3 hrs.
Got home and thought because they were calling for rain on Sunday I should attempt cutting the grass, got it all done except for the side before it started to rain, figured I might as well continue the last 10 minutes of cutting while it rained so the entire yard got done…I came in, soak and wet, bathed and got into my jammies..was tired but was awaken about 8pm with Sailor barking, here it was Michelle (she does house staging and a decorator) she had a few friends with her and asked if I minded showing them the inside of the house..invited them in, said ‘excuse my attire’ went back to the couch and she did a tour, so I was quite touched that she found some of my decorating unique enough to want to bring people in…
After a good night sleep I was up ready to take on the day, well almost, watched a few of my morning Ministry shows, brought a table to the couch and sat playing with the chandeliers I had bought, lordy after working on them I realized they weighed a ton, so no being shipped out for them..I then got out the glass globes and attached them to the large glass light globe I had purchased..will be beautiful when done, had bought 5 bags of globs only to find out I need at least 7..perhaps on my way home tonight I’ll pick up another 2 – maybe 3 to be on safe side..
The boys kept dropping in from time to time while riding their bikes, of course grandma has great treats and if not, store next door has them..lol..
Finally mid afternoon it was a gorgeous day so thought I’d better get all those plants, planted..did a lot of edging, transplanting…Greg had to do paper work in the aft. So Melanie and the boys came for supper..I had cooked for about 8 including pies without knowing I’d have company so it was nice to be able to offer them a nice home cooked meal..which in itself is rare…They all left by 7 as Kyle had a project to turn in so I sat on the couch with the lovely Rose book that Laura sent me, reading, enjoying photo’s of the most glorious roses, just relaxing, fell asleep on the couch book in hand, didn’t wake up till after 11pm then of course I had disturbed my sleep and was awake every ½ hr. till morning, when 4am came, I decided to wash some bedding and do all the towels the girls use for painting on Monday..they are yukky with paint but clean…
Walked in the garden this morning, looks so clean and pretty, did a survey of what I’d like done and noticed I must move my smoke tree as it’s too close the the red maple, guess it should be done in the fall..on the look-out for another couple of trees so might get it all done then..fall is a good time to look for ‘tree sales’..
Had a couple ladies tell me they had dropped in and taken little lilac trees from my beautiful dark purple lilacs in hopes that they will grow..must do the same..
Was going to go back through posts to respond to you all, but think I’d better not or I’ll be losing yet another..
From what this old brain can remember…
Liz, gifts I received on Friday were not from my swaps, still have that to look forward to..have one of the glass cutters for bottles/jugs and circle cutter which say it’s easy as 1-2-3 but NOT…nope, just don’t work so it’s stored with useless gadgets…Am sure FIL will find a method ..
Dawn, we have ‘rattlesnake sanctuaries’ in our area..lordy, you’d get arrested quicker than if you hurt a human if you did something to one of them..it’s a national park and many camp and visit the island, think in all the years I’ve only heard of 3 or 4 being bitten..of curse they keep syrum on hand and they are rushed to Midland Hospital..I do visit Beausoleil Island at least a few time a year and am watchful…also, not far from me they blased rock to make new subdivision, well it was a breeding ground for rattlers, neighbors had to be extrememly cautious because they were around in droves looking for new place to live..glad you and Greg enjoyed your time away…
Ruby, how did the birthday party go? Emily must have been so excited..must show us photo’s..
Marion, is a beautiful day here as well, sun shinning..good luck on your shopping..isn’t it funny how the first thing we all replace when not working is the ‘computer’..feel naked without one…
Jaye, just waiting for name and I’m ready for shipping..check this morning and my Red/White/Blue still in Mississauga..girl at post office is looking into what’s going on..I am disappointed, thought my swap partner would have had it by now…must have patience right? Finished my ‘trash to treasure’ will have to send you a d-mail with photo..I LOVE it..could I keep it please???
Gillian, congratulations to Sonora, that’s quite an achievement..a home and garden show, wow, you’ll be coming home with mega ideas…and now you are able to plant, still chance of frost ??? I lost my new planter to frost last week, the one that is in the picture frame..looks pretty sad…
Shar Ethan is just so adorable..love your special pal gifts…did your smoke tree start out quite maroon, mine is – it’s about 4’ high right now, much like a shrub, think it has to be moved, not now though perhaps in the fall as not to disturb it..might call a nursery to ask if I can move it now as not to let it root too much..you’d love my rose book, amazing at the different types of flowers buds..so very interesting..now for my wild rose bush I showed you all early spring, it’s humungous, thought maybe I’d remove it from it’s present location (actually 2 of them) because there is no signs of any buds, so quite useless except for being a filler..looks as though it could overtake the area it’s in…
Bev..was the lot you sold at the trailer site or at home..yep, if you don’t use it, why have the bother of having to cut it each and every week? Nice to get away isn’t it…wow you were close to that storm front, much damage happen…
Judy, all the celebrating is over now over, now you can get back into a routine..is Julia enjoying her new job? Are you slow this morning now that you’ve managed to get that big project out of the way?
Carol, you’ve got company this week, just think, help to do the gardening…lol
Making a list and checking it twice..Diane’s birthday today, my brother Mike’s on Sat. and my step-father on Sunday and Mike and (OMG..you know I’m sitting here trying to think of her name, cannot, and she’s a great friends, visiting each and every weekend and for the life of me, her name has drawn a blank) ooooo it’s Anne, thank goodness I’ve remembered… anyway it’s their 40th this weekend and having a dinner/dance..so must pick up gifts..guess you all know where this weeks pay is going…
Well, know I’ve missed someone, SORRY!
Nice to hear from you Betty....I hope your day is great.
More later...
Busy today.
Whee! I am relieved you were only "taking time out to rest". Sounds like you didn't do much resting though. Busy, busy, busy!!!
You are so right, we can manage to do without somethings but the computer! NO Way. Just think, I was the one many decades ago (so it seems) who said, "no way, not me, don't wanta, don't hafta, ain't gonna". Well looks like my kids are having the last laugh on this one.
I did get up early this morning and took a stroll around the yard, watered things, thanked the squirrels for not chewing anything else and made a mental list of things I need/want to add. Now if I can just remember those notes I made.
Homemade pie? Once again Betty you didn't call me! LOL You would think all I do is eat wouldn't you but it isn't really so.
Need to dress to go do my shopping. Have a good day gals.
Got to get something done outside as another bad storm coming tonight and chances all week again. Not too much damage from the last one. The lot we sold is part of our camping area that we didn't use. We send a SP gift this month and then find out who's who and then start another for July & Aug.? Well all have a good day. I HAD to turn the air on!! Hugs to all BEV
Yep, right, BEV.....Sp this month then start again for July/August.
Heaven...your SP gift is on its way!!!
I love the picture of the geese. Yeap this Florida gal likes Canada geese. We have some that have taken up residence in a pond near constuction on I-10. There was a nice article in the paper today what is being done so they don't get hurt. Good for them!! Saw a family with 4 little ones last week.
SP? Is this open still?
Thanks Abbis Grandma, I am looking forward to it. I love when they are young and crack you up. I miss that, I hate when they learn sarcasm and self-will. lol
B, hi, I hope you are feeling better. I think it is gall bladder still, hope they know soon.
I had no clue that you have rattlers, I thought they didn't do cold?????
Yep, SP is still ongoing through June, then we start another 2 month round with a new pal for each....you can hop in on that one starting July 1, and running through the end of August if you want.
Got nothing done yesterday because of my kinky back, so maybe today will be a little better. Nothing like old age to slow us down. I just didn't expect a screeching halt.
Have a good day.
S
Good Morning.
So Glad to see you post Betty, was staring to get a little worried there. Wow, you sure had a busy weekend. glad to see you went to friends b-day celebration.
LOL, so glad you got to mow most of your grass, your favorite thing to do. I can just picture riding along merrily, smelling the fresh cut grass...ahhh.
Dawn, Congratulations on being a Grandma!! How exciting is that. No grand kids for me just yet, but i've pleny of Grand neices and nephews as well a young neices and nephews. Beleive me keeping track is pretty tough but we stay in contact via phone and My space and IM. Geesh...hard to keep up sometimes. But I do enjoy hearing all they have going on. and I got 2 more on the way!
So yes our big bash was very exciting. We had a nice crowd and Julia, was a wonderful honoree. My bother gave her an Eagle feather! he found it just three days ago. Now you must know it is quite the honor to be gifted with an eagle feather from an elder. Only those who have who have made a significant deed is gifted with the honor.
She was very overwhelmed by this gift. We hung it in her baby moccasin.
So I strolled through my gardens and did take some photos to share. I will upload this afternoon. Yesterday, basically just visited with my brother and his woman. Had a wonderful time and got cought up with all the children. He has 4. Oh my gosh they are just too cute. The youngest Jose is going to be 1 in June. Oh gosh, can't wait to see them for the 4th of July. Think everyone is going to go to the Cottage for that. Should be fun.
Breenie and Jake are excited to be finishing school. Jacob always keeps busy helping his dad, and Breenie, has applied for a position Caddying at the golf course, so waiting to hear on that. Julia is still working at UPS. She Loves it. OMG she is one big bruise!! But, she doesn't mind because she really is having fun packing the truck. She has met some nice people and likes the supervisor. So all is good.
woohooo 36 more days!! LOL, how on earth will I keep my house clean that long? Will have to ban everyone from doing anything but watch tv. LOL, yeah right. Oh well Liz, only one way to find out and that is by doing...So chalk those blue bottle as the practice.
OMG SP!! I got little tiny plants coming up!!! Yes shar, Very nice Gifts from Ruby what sweetie pie!
Carol, enjoy your sister!! how nice she is visiting all week. Will look forward to the stories. By the way i love your hanging plant basket!
Hellooo Ves, What you up to?
Hiya Shar...Nice informative article. How is the Gallery going? Did the ladies have fun with it?
Marion...Hope you get your new system hooked up quickly! Have fun shopping.
For my SP...It's on the way!
Well, i better get to work here!
Hope you are enjoying the day thus far.
Bev, glad you missed with the tornado, holy mackerole to cles for comfort for sure. Hope you got lots of garden time in at the camper.
Awww, Ruby so sweet a little birthday party for Emily. Definatley want to see a picture with her and her little lawn mower...way too cute!
Oh Gilli, How wonderful for Sonora! Congratulations on her award. I am sure you are all very proud. So glad to hear your spring has finally arrived. Have a great time in the gardens!
Going out here at home pretty soon and cut some stuff down while it is cloudy. Got the trailer cooled out so I feel better. Got a load of cloths on the line just love how they smell after being outside. Better get out there before it starts to thunder. May not talk till tomorrow but will see. Here is what was at the camper yesterday. LV BEV
Hi all! - I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was too short as I'm sure everyone else's was too! DS's team lost their last game. I am totally ok with that as Sat was miserable out watching the game - HOT, HUMID and they lost 17-3 (so painful!). Our team just didn't have it together this time. DS was nominated for All Stars but didn't make the team. He was quite upset but we tried to get him to understand that just getting nominated (only 2 per team were) was an honor. Also, all the other players that got nominated all play on traveling teams so for him to be included with all of them was awesome! This will give him something to really work toward for next season.
So DD had her birthday/sleepover saturday. We started out with a cookout then took them to the movies (I left so I wouldn't cramp their style - plus the dag gone movies are $9 a person!!!). Surprisingly, the sleepover went very well. I didn't have to tell them once to settle down!! Do I detect maturity around the corner? NAH!
Got all the girls up and out of the house by 9am because we were taking the boat down towards Williamsburg. We were actually killing THREE birds with one stone by doing this. See, DD has been using a very old hand-carved 3/4 sleigh bed. Well the mattress was a VERY heavy feather mattress that we finally threw away and replaced with a new mattress. Thing was, the new mattress didn't fit the frame. So we took the bed apart and she's been sleeping on the new mattress on the floor. Well, my parents wanted the sleigh bed back so they can fix it PLUS they had a brand new queen size mattress set for us to use on our guest bed. Well, instead of renting a trailer, I came up with the brilliant idea to take the boat down with the sleigh bed in it; go boating on the James river; then go back to my parents and pick up the queen set. My parents wanted to give DD an old white iron bed they are replacing with the sleigh bed. Well, she didn't want it. I let her know that she would then be sleeping on the floor cause we just don't have the money to get and buy her a new bed! On the way home, we decided to just put the queen set in her room and buy a deb frame for it. So she is happy!!
While on the river yesterday, we pulled up to a freat beach (can't figure out why no one was there!) and hung out there and ate lunch. I found some great river rocks to use in my yard so of course DH rolls his eyes as he sees me walking back down the beach with rocks!!
We've got another busy week - I don't know what's up with this craziness! I have never been a busy as I have been the last month. I will be so glad when school is out! So I have tonight to play in my yard; school tomorrow night; vet appt for Murphy Wed night; & concession stand duty Thurs night. I know there is probably stuff going on this weekend but I can't remember what. I know DH and I are going away the 20th for 2 nights for a late anniversary get-away and the weekend of the 28th is the Indy race here in Richmond and I will have 5 family members coming in to stay after the race. I am so looking forward to our vacation starting July 12th!
Well, I'll post some pics tonight from the river yesterday. Y'all have a great day!!
J
ahhh, could you not keep him as a pet...adorable..a must have - right? Could possible train him NOT to get into the garbage..more storms, wow you must be right in their pathway..
Forgot to mention this morning we stopped at Tim Hortons Coffee shop on the way into work, long line up, got mine first because Suzanne went to washroom, well I'm outside, there are chairs to be had, but it was lovely out so I sat, only for a sec, because their flower bed was full of WEEDS, so there I am, all dressed up, coffee/donut in hand, weeding like a trooper..women passing didn't comment, but the men sure did..might be an easy way to find myself a man..lol..
My May Secret Pal gift when out and she should have received it by now, the 2nd for June will be mailed this weekend...they sure are getting to know me at the post office..
Judy, 4th of July weekend, won't Liz be there as well???she'd be able to meet most of your family if she was...let me see, nope, she'll just miss it won't she by a day or two...yuk..
It is indeed one of the highest honors to received a 'feather'..when I took the boys to the Indian Village in Midland a tribe was their traditional dances, dressed in costume, and a father and son did the feather dance, kept dancing around the fire, feather on the ground and had to keep working their body until they could pick it up..wow, don't know how they did it, but did...
Judy, no rider, sister sold it..had been promised before I said I wanted one..friends are keeping an ear open for a 2nd hand one...truly, it's good excercise and I love it, so why I bother I don't know...
Suzanne and I made a pact that we would bring in our lunches and only go out Thurs. on payday..made mine, she forgot hers, so I'm sitting here at the office reading gardening magazines, nothing different than what I do during working hours...lol...reason for doing so was that Friday after work I'd get to treat myself mega time with my savings...
Thats too funny Betty, all dressed up and weeding at the coffee shop!
Oh my Gosh Bev...he is just so precious! My mom once took care of a baby racoon.
forgot what she named him...but he grew up and brought his family home to meet her!
Our family took care of the whole lot for several years. I just kept my distance during that time. But they are real cute when they are young....Even Liz has to agree LOL.
GG-hope you enjoy your time on vacation. Good for DS! and happy belated birthday to DD.
Well..lunch is already over back to work!
Sharon, I hope that you will be able to use your gifts. I am way behind in reading forums today, so I can't stay long. I am sitting here getting ready to nod off. I need to get up and fix myself something to eat. John cooked a roast on the grill and I am looking forward to trying it. He also grilled potatoes. Yum, yum.
I will eventually get some pictures of the birthday party posted. I haven't even looked at them since taking them. I am like you Jeannine, busy, busy.
Thanks to all who posted. I enjoy reading about everyone's days. Will check on you fine people later on. Take care.
Ruby
Hey wait for me Ruby...I want some of that roast!!
Somehow, that fresh baked pie scent brought me back here. It's been ages since I last baked.
Here we are begging Betty to rest, and when she did, we clamor for her appearance. Sowweee..but we do worry about you dear one.
Laura, you asked, and it's mailed Priority, today. Let me know if you need anything else to go with your quilt.
Liz, I can now threaten Kel with that foot!
Marion, I haven't found a slug in my hosta bed this year. They must be all having a permanent sleep over after the beer fest last year!
Think I forgot to post a pic here of what my SP sent me. A dear "Americana" teddy bear. The postage says Canada and Betty swore it's not from her. Hmm...Shar is not my so secret SP and Marion's still in Fla., while Liz is still playing with her tape measure in California...so who could it be?? Again thanks to my SP.
I wish I have kids...y'all are so lucky.
Might adopt a racoon or Canadian geese...nahh...11 cats and 2 dogs and Kel are sufficient!!
Blessings Galore and Mucho Love,
Jaye
Jaye, told you it wasn't a 'secret pal' gift, it was a gift for you for being the hostess with the mostest in in Red/White and Blue...lol
Oh my, my, my!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm all giddy now! Totally misread that post!! Thank you, thank you Betty. So sweet....I must allow myself a pat on the back. It's my first swap, and I am so lucky to have you and some special ladies signing up.(Threatening d-mail sure help too)
You are right Marion...who would ever thought we might gain great friendships just by being online.
What an adorable raccoon. Used to them when I was a child growing up in south Florida. Only visits I get now are turning over the garbage cans--even can undo the bungee cords.

Pie? Roast? Potatoes on the grill? I'm on my way. Shall I stop for you Jaye? I think Chef's salad is on our menu tonight. As hot as it is that is about all we can stand.
Put a new solar water fountain together yesterday and Mister Sun did his work. How exciting to finally see it working! Need to clean some stones and put in the bottom. BTW, Betty they are stones I brought home from Canada many moons ago. I have wonderful memories of visiting with my niece and her family every time I look at them.
Took a side trip to a nursery while I was out. Found some really nice white trailing Torenia--called Linen. The are snowy white with soft yellow throats. I had never seen the white one before --just love them!!!
Gardengirl, oh the joys of children still at home. Times you can never replace--good thing--as it will be such fun down the road to remember and be able to laugh at some of the things that happen. Some you will prefer you don't ever find out about.!
