"cannon's double", undoubtedly my favorite deciduous azalea.
Spring Blooms - Part 9
Two of the Cannon's Double, It's going to be quite a show here soon! The weeds below have been spared life intentionally... only for a little while longer. I suspect that there are a bunch of Echinacea seedlings in that area and I want to be able to identify the turkeys before I start pulling!

general view of the driveway area. The big red Rhody has to be moved (anyone want it? just send shipping :-p) It needs to be in the back or elsewhere. There are two cute white and pink rhodies in bloom behind it, but you'd never know it.
Johanna? maybe?? total shot in the dark. It's a very nice plant whatever it is. I aways prefer the warm reds to the cool ones.

Make sit all the more depressing that my new one croaked.
Sorry about your TreeP. These go back to at least 1920's
I think the nursery was started in1900.
Thanks. That was my second attempt at one. And they ain't cheap!
Wow, fantastic blooms and pics everyone! Al, how'd you get the light underneath the tulip? Congratulations Dyane! I love that car Alice!! Stay cool RC!

Great shots, Jo Anne and Shelly. Love that azalea, Shelly!
I have been to Linwood several times on their Artist Days---pay a fee spend the day doing whatever.
Thought I would buy a tree ,looked in their book of specimens---They started at $75.00 went into the hunderds.
Sinci I didn;t really have a good place for one I took a pass.
I hope DD will get one for her full sun garden so I can enjoy it.
What is the Linwood Place? It sounds interesting.
You lost something twice Victor, what was it? I missed something in the threads? The fact that something got away from you is amazing. Cannon's Double has been my favorite since the day I say it. I have three actually. I bought a third one a few years ago, It was supposed to be Arnesons Gem or something like that. But, when it bloomed..... it was Cannon's Double. I figured I was supposed to have three of them then!
Yes, unfortunately. Tree peony.
Ooohhh ouch. :-( that's too bad. Hopefully it wasn't one of the really $$$ ones. Losing one that you really like, even if only $ is just as bad.
It was expensive enough!
Gorgeous photos everyone.
I love that native columbine shot ~ well, both the photo and the plant. I don't have any columbine that look as true red as that one looks. Very nice!
what kind was it?
I have another question. To anyone though: Would you be all right with four kids 4-11 years, being told by someone else that they could go around your yard and pick bouqets? I have family coming to visit next weekend and one of my relatives told another with the kids that they could go around my yard to get flowers (for several sites at cemetery) instead of trying to buy them some where. I'm trying to figure out if it's just me being staunchy or what?
