Happy Mother's Day everyone...did you get/do anything cool?
Blooming in May
Lucky you, we sure could use the rain and it poured all around us but we only had a few minutes of wet stuff. There was a tornado watch and when the sky got dark and the thunder and lightening started I hysterically ran around dropping hanging baskets and rearranging the garage so we could fit all the vehicles in then poof it went and rained elsewhere. There is supposed to be a big blow tonight but that will probably fizzle for us as well. After reading about all the destruction in NC I am truly thankful.
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all the Carolina Girls.
Deb,
I have no idea what that is, but it sure is pretty!
I had 2.1 inches this morning. I need to get a larger rain gauge since mine only measures to 1.5 inches and I had to empty it during the rain. It sure is steamy out right now. Glad I worked all day outside yesterday. Lots more of my mini gardenias are open today.

The liatris I planted yesterday is now laying on the ground. Haven't seen any other problems.
Rednyr: My snaps got a bit beaten up as well. But the rain was welcome. :)
Lussah: My mini Gardenias do have buds, at least. Looking forward to that scent.

Oops - I jumped in the middle of your list! :) Love those red Gerbers.
The lantana that ate Bluffton.
oh, and my brug just y'ed
Oh my, they are gorgeous. Big sigh of envy here for those who can grow peonies.
Lovely peonies. I periodically look at the Klehm's Song Sparrow website and sigh. Oh well, we always want what we can't have.

LOL, me especially!
well between work and my yard I have finally outdone myself...my sunburn has sunburn, no more tank tops for awhile ....anyone have a good home remedy? and no thank you on the vinegar...I don't need to smell like half a salad dressing LOL
Aloe. You should grow some since your genetics probably don't like sun all that much.
speaking of aloes... any nice ones hardy around here?
I'll have you know I am part Indian, part German and oh wait ok got some Irish in me...you may have a point LOL already got the aloe on...it's not doing much at this point...my fault...shoulda not worn a tank top to work LOL but it gets hot as heck working in the sun all day!
Indian, German and Irish? Oh my. It's to easy, I better sit on my hands.
Any French in you?
Trent, I have several hardy aloes and they bloom like crazy which makes them extra special.
They pup easily so I can drop some off the next time I am down that way or let me know if you head north of the Broad any time soon.
yeah that'd be great... but after may... when i'm out of school. unfortunately i don't get north of okatie too much... like maybe twice a year
My grandma is French Canadian and Indian, my grandpa Irish, my dad german...I was tainted at birth LOL it's not my fault!
sice were on the subject, im a tiny smidgen cherokee, a bit more german, and a whole lot english/scottish/irish...you know
Rednyr, you and I are very similar. I'm Indian (Lumbee), Welsh, and English. There may be some German, too, but no one in the family is sure about that one. ;>
