WOW Brenda, what a handsome lad :)
Would you look at all that snow?
Grandma at 38?..........How cool is THAT!!!!
The Real Deal Thread for April Blooms
Handsome g-son Brenda! That's a lot of snow.....
I love newborns too, then my next favorite is the stage James is at now. Starting to laugh and interact, tyring to crawl. Aftert that, give them to me after they're potty trained! LOL
Thanks Kim!! He was not a happy camper that I was making him stand out there so I could show my family how deep the snow was. LOL He comes to my shoulder, hard to believe.
My daughter was 21 when she had him and then she and her husband waited 9 years to have his sister! This little monkey is keeping me busy this evening, she is a real piece of work ^_^
Amy I'll get you a Black Gardenia if Gail doesn't have one left!
~Brenda

Yes Nancy this is the hurricane! She is into everything faster than I can keep up. LOL I turned my back on her a month or so ago and she came running into the kitchen and look what she had in her hands!! Of course I had to re-pose her to get the picture but you can imagine my heart stopping when I saw her coming at me......
~Brenda
Brenda, you have a beautiful family! What handsome grandson's and love that smile on your little granddaughter ... her eyes just shine!
Beautiful grand's everyone! If I could be granted just one wish it would be to have a grand-baby. But, it just wasn't meant to be for me. I have hopes that my Goddaughter and her husband will decide to start a family in the next few years but it's doubtful. They have been married 7 years and she just finished getting her Masters Degree and plans on starting a career. My oldest niece and nephew are in their late 30's and neither have kids and don't plan on it. My youngest niece is 21 and has another year of college. She wants to get her degree, start a career, get married and have a family ... all within a couple of years! But, she has never even had a steady boyfriend! So, it looks a bit doubtful there too!
So ... I hope y'all will continue to post photo's of all those beautiful grandkids once in awhile! You are all very blessed!
edited to correct spelling.
Oh, Brenda ... I see you DO get snow out there in Idaho, don't you? I have to admit, I have never seen anything like that in my life! That is a Ton of Snow! Tell your grandson that this ole lady from the South really got a kick out of it!

Hogging the thread??????????? Are you serious??????? I do nothing but post pics (some boring ones too). You have the most beautiful family I have ever seen, Brenda!
I think I feel an order coming on...........from Rob's...........that Ribbon Candy is more than fantastic!!!!
OK.........her mother and daddy would kill me if they knew I was putting a picture of her on the internet. But she reminds me of Brenda's youngest one! This one is in the bottom 10th percentile in weight and height and a little firecracker who never stops talking. Her mother came home from work the other day and this barely 2 year old said, "I 'm hungry. Whatcha' you got for me, Mama"? She doesn't call her mother Mama.........just being funny!
Gail I can't tell you how happy I am to see your little grand daughter and to hear about her! Last I had heard she was still in the hospital in serious shape after her appendix ruptured. It's wonderful to know she is up and running at full speed!!
Strep Emily turned out well today too, just the right amount of sun coming in the window I guess.
~Brenda
OMG Gail! Is that Julia the little cherub?
She reminds me of those Cupie Dolls!!!
What an absolute angel!!!
I could just squeeze her cheeks :)
Goodness I love little ones!!
Such innocent angels!!
I have babies of Emily and happy to know she will look like that. Yes, she may look like a cupie doll but she is a hurricane like Brenda is talking about. She doesn't know how to walk anymore...........just run.........
Yes, Brenda..........they did have a long hospital stay but she got the stitches out a week after she came home (from the second surgery and the drains) and has been running hard since.
Gail, I am so glad you posted a photo of little Miss Julia. She is precious! What a great age ... they are so much fun at the age of 2. Some people refer to that age as the "Terrible Twos", but I think kids are such a joy at that age! I know for parents, kids that age can be a handful at times but they are just doing what comes naturally ... we were all 2 at one time! Fun thing about being grandma is that you can love em, spoil em, enjoy time with them, and then give them back to their rightful owners! ^_^
Uh, yeah Lin......As I lay here with 4 1/2 month old James asleep next to me because Mom wanted to go somewhere with some friends. And I have to work in the morning so he better STAY asleep! LOL I get aggravated some times but I would rather have this than never get to see him...
About the scented Strep I got from Rob's that's blooming...Someone asked about the scent. The one bloom doesn't scent the whole room but I could start to smell it once I got pretty close to the table it's sitting on. I didn't smell bubble gum but it did have a nice floral scent to me. It's all in the nose of the smeller! LOL
We sure have some pretty little girls in our 'family' garden, don't we!
I was never a good grandma with infants. (except to hold them, love them and then send them home with MOm and DAd) I only kept them after the age of about 9 months when they were starting to sleep through the night pretty well.
Oh what a great looking bunch of wonderful babies...
I have a question... Does anyone have a leaf of AMBIENTE *New Red Fleischle German Strep???? I would buy give my youngest son my right arm for a leaf of this plant... Gail when I got the cherry roulette you said you were gettng a diffrent one also... What was it?
susan
Oh, just look at all those beautiful baby pictures! They're so precious at that age! Thank you all for posting them! Makes me remember when my kids were that little. Now I'm the shortest one in the house! LOL Mine had BETTER wait several, several years to make me a grandma, but I see what joy lies ahead of me! ^_^
Thank you, Brenda, for the offer of Black Gardenia! It's a beautiful one! Actually, I was able to find that one for sale, but there were several I saw that I'd like that I can't find anywhere. We should start a wishlist thread, posting the plants we want but can't find for sale. Surely some of us here have those more elusive plants!
Strep Cherry Pie was open and smiling at me when I got up this morning! ^_^
Gail, look at Shoshone! I really think I'm going to have to grow all my AVs in self-watering pots. This is the best one has ever done for me. The real test, though, is when it blooms. I've had quite a few bloom so pretty for me, then they just die. I hope Shoshone doesn't do that. If she makes it through this bloom cycle and doesn't die, then I'm going to start buying self-watering pots. LOL
Sinningia Mackenzie is blooming again. So pretty! I had an awful time last night deciding whether to order from Violet Barn or Dave's Violets or both. I finally went with VB because of the specials, but I'll be ordering from DV in a month or so. He's got several Sinns that I simply must have!
Edited to add: This picture is ginormous! Sorry about that!

And I have to show you my little Dendrobium unicum! It has exploded with blooms! Smells faintly of an orange creamsicle! ^_^
Edited to add: For size reference, that's a nickel the pot is propped up on. It's so heavy on that side, it tumps over if it's not propped up. LOL

Oh my Rain ... Gorgeous Blooms! And that Dendrobium unicum is now on my wish list! Wow! The scent sounds delicious!
Wowser Rain............love the pics!
Susan, I can't remember what I got but will when I wake up!!!
I am going to post Dracula's Shadow again........this time in natural light......
Rain, please start a thread where people can put what they are looking for and we can keep it a permanent thread with 1 2 3 4, etc.............good idea.........
nancy, awesome pictures and plants. That Ramblin Peach is a peach of a plant.
I wish I could grow hoyas as well as you all do but am learning!
Susan you cracked me up this morning, offering children and or body parts for a leaf! LOL I'll have to go google that one and see what it's all about.
Nancy I did go and google Silvia that you were talking about doing so well for you! Talk about wowsers!! That bloom is over to the top gorgeous!
Amy that big picture of MacKenzie just made it easier to see how pretty she really is! I am assuming that Dendrobium unicum is an orchid or in that family. I had to bring DH in here to see that little bitty pot with such a big array of blooms. Amazing!
Lin here is a hoya bloom that has the best smell of any I have smelled yet, it is just a beautiful scent without being over the top or cloying to me. I love it and it's pretty to boot.
Verticillata with more blooms forming to keep the enjoyment going.
~Brenda
Oh Nancy, I can't wait for you to root a piece of Hoya bella for me! I have wanted that one and always heard it was a difficult hoya. I love that AV Ramblin Peach! I am getting real interested in some of these trailing and ramblin AV's. Don't have any but am sure loving the looks of them! I want to downsize and not have so many large to huge plants that take up space inside on my stands!
Oh Brenda ... That H. verticillata is soo pretty! One I don't have but maybe someday will acquire. I love the fragrant hoyas! The cuttings I got in the Spring David Liddle order are not doing well at all. One arrived already kaput and the other 5 are struggling ... I really have my doubts that any are going to survive, but that's the chance we take ordering from as far away as Australia. And, then the problem when they reached California - they were in transit for a long time - which I'm sure caused stress ... then they arrive at my house and are put through more stress. At first I potted them up, then I read where other folks were rooting theirs in water, so I unpotted them and put them in water ... then I read that maybe water rooting wasn't a good idea so I took them back out of the water and potted them up again. Poor babies ... might not stand a chance!
How sweet Sally- Love those little ruffly leaves!
That is adorable! I love the ruffled foliage and that pretty bloom. So tiny ... is that considered a micro mini AV? or is there such a thing? Oh, wait ... I believe I've heard Gail talk about semi-mini's ... that's probably one of the semi-mini's. I'm thinking of the micro mini with the Sinningia's.
So, that would be a trailing semi mini AV ... if I've finally gotten it straight in my brain! LOL
great looking plant, Sally!
Jannich, the delicate blooms look so pretty against the bark of the trees. Pretty flowers.
That Shiawasee Trail says Standard Trailer on the First Class site! I thought it was a tiny one! We shall see how it grows.
Waaaaaah waaaah I want a big raised rose bed so badly!!!!!!!! If I would quit buying avs and their cousins I might could have one! I am falling in love with the multifloras like you have. I saw one called Disneyland that I almost fell over in the nursery looking and smelling her fragrance .
Thank you Sally.
Oh Gail you need a rose garden! There one of my favorite flowers. Now if I could keep the black spot off of them I would be happy.I think the humity here is causing it.
