I was given a Plumaria by my SO's father. He has one that must be 18 foot tall. He also went to Hawaii to get it. He now has several babies. Mine is about 1 foot high. I have a hard time keeping leaves on it but it seems healthy enough. Plantlady you be careful with that mowing. Drink lots of liquids and DON'T try to do it all at once. Dimmer you GC are beautiful too! We are all so lucky! I am sure glad that I found this place on the internet. Now if I can just stay away from E!

(Zone 1)

Susan: I Love your hair! It is absolutely Beautiful, just like you! I need a haircut so badly ... one of these days I am going to go and get it all chopped off. I can't remember when I had a haircut last and my hair grows really fast ... it is so long, way down my back .... I wear it in a pony tail every day and even in a pony tail it is too long. I have been coloring my hair since I was 15 or 16 and I'm currently in need a dye job. Just never seem to find the time anymore. The box of haircolor is sitting in the bathroom just waiting! If my natural grey was as pretty as yours I would DEFINITELY let it grow out and not mess with coloring it! I remember my Mom telling me I was going to have her color of dull brownish grey and I sure do!

LOL Wildskygal, At my age, I have to take breaks when doing yard work ... lots of breaks! I'm 60 years old and have been mowing this lawn for the 33 years we've been in this house. Yep, here in Florida we have to drink lots and lots of fluids when working outside in the heat. Also use lots of sunscreen, wear my hat and sunglasses! I can't do it all at once anymore. Even though we don't have lots of property like some folks do our house is on two lots so we have a pretty decent size yard. I have been using a riding mower for at least 12 years now which makes it sooo much easier! I can't imagine walking behind a mower anymore, even a self propelled one!

Dimmer/Kim ... Your grandbabies are precious! What great ages too! I bet you have so much fun with all three of them!

Ottawa, IL(Zone 9a)

dimmer those kids are adorable, you must be so proud.by the way ladies, you can grow a sinniniga from a leaf but most of the time they grow a tuber & nothing else.they are called blind tubers, you jsut about have to take a top cutting to get anything.

SPEAKING OF GRANDKIDS!!!
I have a new one! One of my step-daughter's had a beautiful little girl at 2:32 this morning.
Her name is Kathleen : ) And she has an older brother & sister.
I'm threatening to buy a t-shirt that says - "I'm only 43! Stop making me a Grandma!" And wear it every time I see one of my kids or step-kids. LOL

It seems like just last week that you were telling us he had just been born. Happy Birthday to your pretty step daughter Sheila! No grands from her yet, huh? Well, if anybody ends up with too many grandbabies to spoil you are more than welcome to adopt me as a surrogate grandma! I would love spoiling some little ones!

Those look really great, Diane! I'm contemplating an order and seeing your Streps makes me feel a bit better. Sometimes they're pretty small. Looks like you hit the jackpot, though! Those are really beautiful, and a fabulous selection! I know you're so tickled with them! ^_^

Awww, Nancy. I had convinced myself I didn't need to buy a plant of S. Potpourri, then you go talking about how good it smells! LOL Rob says it's heavily fragrant. Can you smell it in the room or do you have to stick your nose in it?

Northeast, NE(Zone 5a)

Not that smelly Amy..LOL..I need to get pretty close..how about yours Diane..can you smell it??

Darn! I want something that perfumes the entire house! LOL Hey, really, do any of you know of a houseplant that is very strongly fragrant? Some Hoyas, I know, but other than those?

I'm trying to decide if I want to order from Violet Barn or Dave's Violets. Tough decision! They both have stuff I really want!

Gosh~~~~~~~~when I am just gone for the day I miss everything going on!!! I love all the babies and children of everyone!

Wildskygal....don't order leaves!!! I should have been nicer when you first joined and sent you leaves. Please don't order anymore. Leaves I do have..............

OK I need help. Does anybody have Strep Bristol's Blue Bopper? The description says it's really blue (as in not purple or lavender, but actually blue). Is it? Are there any Bristol's Streps that are really, truly blue? Thanks! ^_^

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

Let's not forget, I am nursing a TRAY of baby chiritas for this fall everyone and they are growing with each passing day so don't anyone be ordering chiritas!!!!

XO
Kim

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

My favorite blue is Blue Mars but as far as Bristols? I don't have any that would be blue :( Sorry I couldn't help ya luv :(

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I don't know about Bristol's blue ones. I have Blue Beard that is really blue and Blue Mars is a pretty blue. Let me go take a bad quick pic of Dracula's Shadow I grew from leaf. This is the first plant and first bloom from her. The bloom is giant on this tiny baby.

I've got Blue Mars, and you're right, it's fabulous! I also got Heidi at a nursery a couple weeks ago. It's tagged as Heidi, but I haven't seen a bloom, so I won't swear to it until I see it. Maybe it won't be long.

I'm actually putting together an order with Violet Barn and I want a Strep or two. I legitimize the shiping charges by buying enough plants to make it not so much per each plant. LOL Who am I kiddin'??? I just want a lot of plants! LOL Any suggestions of anything I simply have to get? ^_^

Thanks, Kim!

Oh, I love the name Dracula's Shadow! It's bound to be gorgeous! Thanks Gail!

Northeast, NE(Zone 5a)

psst Amy wait til our trade..lol..Blue Bopper is really Blue... ..this is from a few days ago before my good camera went kaput so the colors are really true in the pic

Northeast, NE(Zone 5a)

Heavens Yes Gail.. have you down for a leaf of every one I have : ))

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

bad pic.......nancy..........she is the most beautiful purple I have seen. A lady in our club gave me a leaf.
I am going to the Strep pictures and see what they have posted for her........I love that blue of yours..................there aren't many blues around........

Nancy, Blue Bopper is gorgeous! OK, I took it off my list. I wouldn't even be ordering now, but they've got Sinns Darth Vader and Bewitched on special and I just have to have them. It pains me to pay so much shipping, so I'm picking up a few Streps, too. I sure wish they had Bristol's Moon Mist. It's so pretty! Does anybody have that one?

Gail, Dracula's Shadow is fabulous, too! I hope you'll save me a leaf of that one. And Black Gardenia, if you still have it. ;o)

Northeast, NE(Zone 5a)

Well It better be Bristol's Blue Bopper..LOL..I bought it from Robs..marked on the pot..I wonder what the heck he sent me then.......

Mid, ID(Zone 3b)
