Stop and visit, talk all you want. Pt 21

(Zone 7a)

Home again, home again, jiggity-jig!

Where did GEENP go? Come back! Don't be shy.

Amanda, pah-tay on, girl! LOL

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

I'm hoping a certain person at work is gonna give me a cake today. LOL

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PEPPER (AMANDA), HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!! AND MANY MORE!!!

The weather man says we didn't get down to freezing last night but when Pau just went outside to uncover the plants we had covered, he brought in one of the covers we had used and it had ice on it , which was starting to melt, so it's a good thing we did cover our plants. Our thermometer on the back porch says it was 38º just a few minutes ago but the weather "thing" on my computer is saying it feels like 32º in our area. You never know which temperature is correct. Better safe than sorry!

We haven't heard from Terry in a few days. I may have to call her later today to check on her.

I'm off to shower and then head to a ladies' breakfast which my Bible study group is having. Talk to you girls later.

Love and hugs to all,
Mau

(Zone 7a)

Good morning, everyone.

Happy B-Day, Amanda!!!

The sun is coming out now. Maybe I'll get to plant after all.

And have a good time, Mau!

Thanks for the b-day wishes!! It was a nice sunny day though windy.

Hope the meds aren't causing alot of problems for Terry.

(Zone 7a)

Nothing new today except we had dinner with my niece, et al. Then to the book store.

And it snowed.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Keep the snow.

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

SNOW!! Doesn't it know that it is Spring? Yep, definitely keep the snow--we don't want it! LOL

Everybody have a good day. I'll be away all day so I'll check in with y'all tomorrow.

Love and hugs.
Mau

(Zone 7a)

Good morning, everyone.

Still a teeny bit of snow on the lawn but it's melting.

When I was at my niece's, her boy, Timmy, who is 3, was playing with his chalk/dryboard. I told him he should color something on the edge of the board. He looked at me and said, "It's called a perimeter." My jaw hit he floor. He's so hilarious!

I have an early day today. Y'all have a good day!

(Zone 7a)

Good morning, everyone! Beautiful day out.

I haven't been able to get to see mon in a few days but my niece went last evening. She said she looked good and was coherent. Kept asking about a sweater. Don't know what that was all about. Huh...

Have a lovely day!!!

Good afternoon, everyone!
Celia: Knowing "Perimeter" at 3 years old!! Kids learn so much faster nowadays!!
What is that plant? It looks like the bud is black in color.

It's 70º and cloudy here. Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous. We drove up to Harrison, AR and spent the day. Here's the view from where we were. It was a little hazy but still a good view.

How would you like to have this for your back yard? See that platform that sticks out over the mountain? Do you think for one minute that I walked out there? No way! I don't care if it was held up by steel posts! LOL

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

This is the house where we were visiting.

edited to add: The town of Harrison is at 1359 feet above sea level. This house is at 2025 feet above sea level. There are quite a few houses up on the same ridge where this house is located.

What a beautiful view! I'll bet it's awe-inspring at night! Thanks for sharing that one.

Mau, the flower bud is my first lilac!!! I've been waiting 3 years for them! Patience pays...

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

I didn't realize that lilac buds looked like that. My MIL has a lilac bush but it is already blooming so I didn't get to see the buds.

(Zone 7a)

I've been outside every morning since the buds started to open to get that shot. I didn't know they were almost black as buds. Live and learn? Every minute!

"I've heard it said
That people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led
To those who help us most to grow
If we let them
And we help them in return
Well, I don't know if I believe that's true
But I know I'm who I am today
Because I knew you:

Like a comet pulled from orbit
As it passes a sun
Like a stream that meets a boulder
Halfway through the wood
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you
I have been changed for good"

Edited to add song lyrics...

One of my faves!!!

Good morning, everyone. Another pretty day happening outside. I'm going to try and get some things in the ground before work. 2 evergreens, 2 roses, 1 forsythia.

One of the tulips opened this morning.

Good morning, Celia, or rather, Good afternoon. it's 12:37 p.m. here as I type.
What cute balloon "flowers"!! Lovely poem/lyrics.
Raining here, 52º heading for 62º. I've been on the computer for over an hour typing posts on DG in various threads so I think I'll go grab a sandwich. You "friends of mine" have a good day and hopefully I am changed for the better for knowing all of you! :o))

Love and hugs to all,
Mau

Heading to work soon. I HAVE been changed by my pals here.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Wet and cold here but will warm up tomorrow. RU going on tomorrow and it's gonna be messy. But at least the sun is supposed to shine.

(Zone 7a)

Woo hoo!!! Let the sun shine!!!

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

that's a different musical!
^_^

(Zone 7a)

LOL I need to see WICKED. I love the music and I loved the books.

(Zone 7a)

Well, we had a warm day but the wind blew a bunch of dust or clouds or something at us. Can't see the mountains very well. The wind is blowing a storm in.

Good night, everyone. It was another good day. ☺

Love that pic. Busy weekend here. RU yesterday and today we went to Powell Gardens and looked around. Spent some money in the gift shop too. lol

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Yesterday and today were both absolutely gorgeous days, especially today because the wind was blowing yesterday. I got a lot of work done in the lasagna bed which we started last autumn. I am going to plant some flower seeds tomorrow if it doesn't rain. I noticed the other day that one of my "wave" petunias which made it through the winter has one open bloom and several buds on it. This is unusual because petunias usually don't survive our winters. We have to plant them every year. Three of the "waves" survived this year. I am happy about that, needless to say.
Pepper, did you get any neat plants at your RU?
Some of the "girls" on the Mid-South Forum are meeting at Rita's Nursery (Randolph's) in Jackson, Tenn. on Sat. the 26th. I'm going along with two others from my area. It should be fun. Rita's has lots of sun perennials which I am interested in for the new lasagna bed. We are going to have a "mini-trade", too, as some of the DGers are bringing along extra plants to give away.
Here is a pic of my wave petunia:

Evening girls

Med changes are NOT fun. I think the worst is over, but I'm still so tired I can't see straight.

Talk another day when I have more energy, just wanted to let you all know I'm still alive and kicking☺

Terry

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Evening, Terry. I'm glad the worst is over but I'm so sorry that the med makes you feel so tired. What a bummer!!
((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((Terry))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Love,

I got an elephant ear, 2 ornamental grasses, some dusty miller, ornamental pepper-Black Beauty-very hot when eaten, hen and chicks which will go in a strawberry pot when I get one, and some type of sedum which will go in a bowl planter I think. That's it. No room for anything else since I have some stuff coming in from a co-op. Should have my last order coming in soon.

(Zone 7a)

Terry, so glad you're still alive! :-)

Mau, nice days make you fell better, don't they?

I have things I need to plant still, Amanda. I'm not going to get to it until Tuesday.

I had this whole thing typed up about the trust being held up by a gold-digger but I decided it was petty and won't post it. ☺

It was a good day.

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Pepper: it sounds like you got some good "stuff" at the Round Up. Take some photos when you get a chance.
Glad you had a good day, too, Celia. Yep, it's probably best you didn't post that about the gold digger. No sense in bringing yourself down to their level--you are better than that! :o))
Another beautiful day shaping up in our neighborhood. I'm going outside to plant some seeds in the Hummingbird/butterfly bed--hope the beds don't eat them!
Here's a tulip collage made with pics of one of my favorite tulips:

(Zone 7a)

Good morning, everyone.

Thanks, Mau, I felt better just typing it. Erasing it felt good, too. Fabulos tulip. It looks like a popsicle.

Have lots to do today!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Love that tulip!! My favorite one here didn't come up this year. Spring Green. I just loooove that one!! But not this year. All my others did though.

I planted one of my grasses with the silver dust and parsley in a big pot. It will look good when filled out. :~)

(Zone 7a)

Can't wait to see that!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

I'll try tonight to get a pic if I remember.

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

I'm looking forward to seeing that photo, too, pepper!
The tulip in the photo above came out of a bag of tulip bulbs of mixed colors. However on the bag it said, "mixed colors"; Triumph; Tulips; so I guess it is a Triumph tulip. Tulips sometimes don't do well here because our winters aren't always cold enough to give them the "freeze" they need. I have read that we should dig up the bulbs and save them till planting time for next season after storing them in the refrigerator for a month or so.
My pansies are doing better right now than they have all winter. Soon it will get too hot for them but they are blooming quite well right now.

Thumbnail by marsue
(Zone 7a)

Ooooo, love the pansies, Mau!

My tulips are changing colors. I heard this was because of something in the soil. I don't remember what, though. I like it.

Okay...my back hurts, I broke 2 nails, my foot hurts and I'm covered in dirt but I feel great!!!

I got some stuff in the ground. FINALLY!!!

Forsythia.
