Celia, real quick wanted to tell you that the dishwasher has to be replaced, it's ruined. Krista is fine. With CP she has a built in sense of knowing how to fall just right so she doesn't get hurt. Lucky girl..lol ☺
Pepper, how are you? Are you getting any of these hard freezes we're getting? Last night and one expected tonight too. Last years late freeze killed my redbud, but I go on Sun. with my best friend to get another and lots more pretties.
You 2 have a good night..☺
Stop and visit, talk all you want. Pt 21
Good morning, everyone.
I feel TONS better. I went to work but came home early. Slept all afternoon and night. Whew! Darrell got me a sandwich last night and, boy, that helped.
We have a couple of ponies close by. I should stop by and see if they'll let me have some poop. Most people don't mind if the shovel for them, do they? LOL
Terry, glad Krista's okay. At least it wasn't the washing machine. You can still wash dishes without a dishwasher! LOL
Off to work...again.
*gag gag choke choke cough* ME?? Wash dishes? Surely you jest!! Isn't that what husbands are for? LOL The washing machine is safe as it's in the basement...lol. In a house that's 112 yrs. old, the stairs are too steep and hard for her to climb. Plus, nothing worse than somebody putting 1 shirt into the washer, then the dryer, then complaining to mom (moi) that's it's all wrinkled! LOL
Glad you're feeling better also!
Where's pepper?
Running around, riding, working, catching up on here and running behind. :~)
Not going to Iowa RU this weekend. Parents said no (and I mean no) so not gonna make it. Plus gas is just too high. So terry we have to postpone meeting up. One of these days we will get together. :~)
Hey girls, having fun catching up with the other threads. Amanda, I so wish I was riding with you. I miss it.
Terry, when I said "you", it should have automatically translated "husband"!!! I know hwat they're for! LOL

Come on down!! LOL. Just don't come tonight. Wild weather with tornadoes north of here and west of here. None will be near me on this storm.
Had a good visit wioth mom this afternoon. We were there almost 2 hours. I think that's a record or her. She had lots to say, ate, drank, complained, coerced and cajoled. It was fun to see the old mom again! LOL
Sorry girls, haven't been checking in with threads.
pepper, I'm sorry your parents put the kabosh on your trip. I know you were looking forward to it.
Celia, I'm glad you had a wonderful visit with your mom. I know all to well that feeling of looking at somebody who you've always known and loved all your life, but it isn't her. It can't be her because the woman you knew wouldn't act or talk like that. Your last visit was with the woman you've always known, so please cherish the memory and the days like that. I'm sure I don't need to tell you that.
They installed our dishwasher yesterday. It's basically the same thing, but it was an Amana that's made by Maytag (almost 4 yrs. ago, now it's all owned my Whirlpool). This time I got the Maytag. I have had a Maytag and it was the best dishwasher I ever had. I can see differences in this one already. But it was supposed to be the same as the one in my kitchen now. It wasn't and it isn't. If that's confusing, I know it is because it doesn't even make sense to me☺ The other, the Amana was just gross. It was always growing green mold on this side of the rubber seal. And it always splattered gunk out and onto the metal side pieces that are screwed onto the cabinets on either side. Disgusting.
Eeeeew! Sounds gross, Terry. Good you finally got it replaced then.
Yes, it was great visiting mom. Althought, I'm kind of fearful that this might be a "last gasp"? I'll keep the memories and make a place in my heart for them. A special one I can bring out a look at when I'm sad. Thanks, Terry. You always have good advice and calming words. I'm glad I know you. ☺
We had a visit from some old friends this morning.
I took my grandma plant shopping today. Checked out a greenhouse in a neighboring town and then went by work to check out the plant sale. At the gh I got a astilbe that is huge and a varigated vinca vine and also a basket with succelents in it. Grandma got a pink dogwood, varigated vinca vine and I think some annuals. At work I got the Mona Lisa oriental lily and grandma got the red hot poker. I got some other stuff yesterday too. Jacob's ladder, Jose Aubergine Sedum, amsonia, sneezeweed, 4 bell peppers, and something else. I did really good and altogether spent less than $80.
I'll say you did good! LOL What a haul...
It was a good haul but I have done better. LOL. Last year I spent close to $200 on plants at the plant sale. I cleaned out weeds in a shady bed and put new plants in there. Some ferns, hostas, and solomon's seal last year. This year the jacob's ladder and astilibe so far. I want to wait til my hostas get bigger so I know what I have to work with. I have Francee and Island Charm hostas in one bed. The Island Charm is a dwarf so I am using it as a border. But I lost at least 2 this past winter so it won't look as good. :~(
I still have more stuff to plant also. Huecheras, and some more ferns for that bed, then some sunnier plants for another. All from co-ops.
Oh, got blackie sweet potato and colorful fushia for pots. They both trail down so it's more fun for Curly. LOL. Just gotta get more soil for them.
Tomorrow I get some rabbit stuff from some members on here. Gonna have a bed tilled up and some of it will go in there. I hope to get alot so I can really spread it around. :~)
Sounds like a good time. I need to get some topsoil and horse manure for the new bed in back. I have all kinds of things in the GH that I started in late winter.
I am also hoping to use it in a bed of ditch dirt. We have a hard time getting stuff to grow there so I have decided to make it a succelent bed. I just planted hens and chicks and will see how they do and if they thrive then will plant more. Then maybe the weeds will disappear. lol
Succulents should do well there. They have such a shallow root system. Post a pic when your "finished".
This is the bed I have to complete. I had to put a plea out to all the DGers for seeds. They came through for me. ☺This is the best shot I have right now. It's only half of it. Actually, it's only about a thrid, now I see it in the pic.

LOL. Funny pic of hubby.
And if you need more seeds, holler. I have more than I could ever plant.
...Well Hello, Thought I drop in to see what you all are up ta.
Ohwah, I see you are really hard at work too Celia. LOL.
Celia, Very happy you had such delightful visit with mom.
..smile, hoping you are doing well. Haven't read around. We got lots of excitment going.
You all are fun to spend sometime with...Terry, hahah, I got kids to do dishes. you are just so cute!
So...Biggest news is I'm a GRANDMA!!
Haha, He's a floursack with an egghead. ROFL, what can I say. we have some excited drama.
Hehe..Will say good night on that note.
Ummmm.....very interesting tree to say the least. lol
Been busy here. Went out of town yesterday with another DG member to meet up with a couple who are also DG members. lol. They live about 2 hrs from here so it was a long drive there and back. They don't get company much so they were estatic to see us. Especially Dave aka dave719. He is usually stuck at home because they raise goats and rabbits and he does the majority of the work there. But we had a nice visit, got 17 bags of black gold and left at dusk. I got home after 10:30pm. Veerrry tired today. lol
Well dang girls, I haven't been keeping up! Got a lot to say but good grief went to supper tonight with an old friend and we laughed and talked till we literally had tears falling down our face. Wanted to check in and say I'll be on again tomorrow, I hope, and tell what I've been up to. Until then---Terry
Hi all. Not as good day today as I had hoped for. Tired and weak, huge headache. This is so old, it's becoming ridiculous.
I went on Sun. to a native plant sale up in a Chicago suburb (2 1/2 hours from here) with my best friend. We had both pre-ordered and when we got there, we decided to look to see what we had forgot to pre-order and neither could really remember what we'd ordered. Seemed almost everything had a big bold sign on it that it was sold out. We decided to go find out what our orders were, so we went up to the counter and I said my last name, spelled it, lady flipped to find me and I wasn't in there. My best friend was beside me and saw her sheet, our last names start with the first letter. The PO lost my envelope? Who knows. I could only remember 1 tree, 1 shrub and 1 forb that I had ordered, so I ended up with those. My best friend bought 3 extra plants and then we went up to get her pre-order and my tree and shrub purchased on that day. They told her to get the car, she did, they said they'd load and we thought they had. Come to find out, they didn't put the box that had our extra forb purchases from that day in the car. After we left that place, we drove to another 'burb and stopped at native nursery. We each picked up a few things and on the way to my house, we stopped to eat a really late lunch and then continued on to my house. It was here that we discovered our purchases weren't put in her car from the sale. She's tried calling and left messages, but so far they haven't returned her calls. Yesterday was a gorgeous day, but with no energy to plant anything? Oh and my native plant order that I placed last fall that I had then asked to be sent this spring arrived also. So I've got all that to plant, but no energy. Then yesterday a very good friend of mine that I've spoken with over the last few months but haven't seen, came to town last night to take Krista and me out for supper. She stayed till past 10:45pm, I posted above and went to bed where I promptly fell asleep. Today, all the energy I expended last night and the day before is really on me. Today was an even warmer day, but with no energy? Holy cow. Remember Dolly the sheep that they cloned or was Dolly the name of the cloned sheep? (is sheep right for just one?) I wish I could of cloned myself back in Dec. before all this started and I could stay in here and rest and my clone would go out and do the planting and the cleaning. Wouldn't that be nice? LOL It's supposed to rain tomorrow, so hopefully I can continue with my resting and by Thurs. I feel much better. I keep trying to do things with the thought of having the energy I had before, but it isn't here. I can't seem to slow down or really know how to slow myself because I see things that I need to do, I want to do, but I just can't and I'm so tired of feeling like this. Enough with the whining already. Jeepers.
Celia, I'm glad that my words give you comfort and you realize how much I do empathize with all that you're going thru. I'm glad to know you too☺
pepper, I was going to give you a hard time about something but I can't remember what it is now. Amazing how my brain works to me. I can remember such details about some things and then other things I don't remember. Can we blame it on the meds for now?
Oh gosh, that dishwasher was just the grossest thing ever. I told the guy that installed it to make sure Frank, the small store owner here in town where we buy all our appliances and I've known forever, sees exactly how gross it is and what the heck I was talking about and maybe next time I complain about something he should really listen to what I'm saying and not assume something else!! You know what they say about assuming! LOL It's so weird how Maytag made the Amana, and the only difference was supposed to be the name on it and the price, yet they are really very different on the inside. I sure do hope that this doesn't shoot gunk out of it and grow mold. From the looks of it and the way the door and rubber seal is, I don't think it will and so far it hasn't. I'm hoping it doesn't anyway. I don't think I could handle it if this does the same. Poor Frank will really get an earful if it does---lol.
My dad had his first chemo treatment yesterday. I spoke with him today and he feels good. I can only hope and pray that it stays that way, regardless of what my heart feels like.
Seedtosser, congratulations being a grandma!!
That's all I have for now. I'm so tired I can't really think straight.
Have a wonderful night to all!
Well terry, you are on your way to being back to normal in some ways. You are back to being long winded!! LOL
I said I had a lot to say!! Love your sense of humor and keeping things in perceptive..LOL
Oh Amanda, that's so mean! LOL Terry, we love you!!!
Seriuosly, feeling bad makes everything hard. When I get laid up with foot problems, I get nasty. I know I do. My Darrell puts up with it but I know he feels bad when I snap at him. I always apologize right away but...
Today was a good day for me. We had a meeting with our new boss. (Our division has merged with another.) He's very nice, sincere and knowlegable. He's also, and this is the good part, willing to work WITH us. Some bosses don't. He has a sense of humor that we can relate to and is pretty funny. All of that counts for more than what he knows.
I don't know! I'm thinking I have to watch my back with Amanda!! She's so ruthless LOL Kidding, just kidding, I've seen pictures of the girl after all! Feeling badly, I think I could still take her on with one hand tied behind my back! LOL
You know Celia, I don't have the energy to snap and after 26 yrs. John just knows when I'm not feeling good. Tempers always seem to flare when we simply don't feel well, but I'd like to think I know where to direct my anger appropriately. John and I have never had a fight. A small disagreement, of course, but to fight or argue back and forth? Never. My best friend thinks we're "weird" as she says..lol. She and her husband fight sometimes like cats and dogs and don't speak for days on end. I call that weird! As Amanda so properly pointed out, I sure do like to talk and I can't imagine not talking to my male best friend.
I'm glad your boss is a good boss. That wouldn't be fun to go to work with somebody who didn't really work with you!
Rainy today. It's now cloudy and a small chance for more rain tonight. We had to run to the bank today and it was funny when the manager said all this rain was going to at least make the grass grow. But then she would have to cut it. I was thinking I was so glad it was raining because my plants sure do need to rain, not the little tiny splat of grass we have!! Who cares about grass, right?? LOL
If I can knock a 180 Ib man back several steps then I can take you down. LOL.
I wish I could say who cares about grass but my dad loves his grass and no one is gonna take it away from him. lol. At least we don't water it except in the old country style. lol. You guys try to figure that one out.
Ah salt, see the difference is I'm ready for you. You're not catching me off guard and since men should of been taught not to hit a woman, then I can see why some guy wouldn't hit you. It's times like these when remembering the rough and tumble times that my brother and I had come to mind quite fondly! Your room is ready for you to come, so let me know when you're ready!! Bring pots too so you can take home some plants to fill up all that barren grass you've got..LOL
I'm basically in town, a small small town, but after all, we're surrounded by woods, farm land and farm houses. So watering the lawn the old country style way? I know what you're talking about. I don't believe I need to figure anything out, you think? ☺
Laundry water too. LOL.
Hi all! i was catching up on a week's woth of posts, and i started reading Pepper's post from May 3rd and asked myself, "What on earth is a grandma plant"?
Hey, yeah. What is it?
I took grandma plant shopping. In other words 2 people shopped for plants. LOL
Hi, Happy Ma Day everyone.
Terry, aww so sorry to hear your not up to par. Hope you get to feeling better, I hear you on the no fighting. We don't fight either.
Ha, we bicker until he figures out I am right...heheh.
Oh so cute on the Grandma plant.
Thanks on the Grandson...saga continues through today. LOL MIL loved him up for about 5 minutes even let me take a picture. So I leave the room, come back and he's thrown on the floor like a sack of flour!! LOL, he is but geesh no way to treat the great grandson. LOL told her I was telling his ma on her...no fun she didn't care...played her part and was done. Party pooper that she is.
Well, Just wanted to come say hello and I hope you all are enjoying the day!
Seed, that's too funny!!!
We're off to see the moms soon. We had fun playing in the yard. I pulled two Caryopteris out and got them thrown on the compost heap. Boy, those things like to throw seed around! LOL Darrle got the rest of the reed grass in the trash and put two new tree rings around our little trees. The old ones weren't big enough. I gave my weeping cherry a haircut, too. She looks MUCH better now. I got more seeds in the ground...marigolds, sunflowers, butterfly mix. I need to get some more flax seed. AND I need to start some loufah seeds. I hear they're pretty.
Are you anywhere near Ogden Utah? My DH is going there this week for business...
I'm about 30 minutes from there!
Any interesting places to eat, or see? He doesn't have much time there...
Hmmm...Not really. They have a chinese restaurant that's pretty good. Bangkok Garden. If he likes Italian there's La Ferrovia. There's a steakhouse called Prairie Schooner. I haven't been to that one, though.
As for things to do, not much unless he has the kids with him. Does he have time to golf? There's a few nice courses.
Oh oh oh!!! There's a restaurant called the Rainbow Cafe!!! He MUST eat there. It's in Ogden Canyon. They have the greatest food! There is also a gift shop in a swimming pool. He can bring you souvenir.
