Nice pic WC!

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Thanks Debilu, just got 17 pics of him an hour ago, he was watching me rake leaves in my yard! ☺

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Great pic! What happened to his other leg????

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

He was resting it... here you see him when he brought it up.
Juvenile sharp-shinned Hawk, (as far as I can ID him using Sibleys). ☺

Beautiful!!!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Awesome shots WaterCan!! I thought maybe he had been injured...glad to see he has both legs!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Great shots! In your tree??

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Thanks ☺
- at first he stopped on top of my bonsai table while I was cleaning up... I was stunned! Then I ran inside to get the camera and he sat on the branch about 20' away from me in my yard!

pls excuse the mess ( I was spring cleaning) ☺

Look at that mess .LOL Nice shots
Those Coopers or Sharp shinned are not as wary in cities.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

WC - great shots. Loved the John Barrymore shot the best!

Too cold to do the lamb outside. We'll try it tomorrow in the garage on the gas grill after the cars have been moved out, of course.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

In NYC they would be. The pigeons are bigger.

Southern Dutchess Co, NY(Zone 5b)

Does your sharp-shinned stalk your bird feeders? The ones around here find easy pickin's with all the feeders the neighbors provide for the song birds! I do love to see any of the hawks and wish they would get some of the squirrels, crows, blue jays or better yet, deer! Ha, ha!

It's 38 degrees here after a nice, but chilly day in the Hudson Valley.

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

I love your pics WC. I haven't seen mine in a bit. I remember the first time I did. We were having a snow storm and I thought something fell out of the tree and landed on a bird! Boy was I amazed! I always know when he's been around though....a little pile of feathers

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Great shots WC. We have those and one other kind of hawk around here. They get birds, mostly the less than brilliant mourning doves, bunnies, snakes, chipmunks occasionally and field mice. I wish they would scare the deer when they stalk the bird feeder.
It is a nice sunny day but cold, only in the upper teens but not much wind.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Here is a pic of Bambi and friends at the bird feeder early this am. There are six in the group, the others are in the woods out of the shot. Sorry not a good pic, it is taken from inside through the window.

I haven’t noticed Mamasita, I think he usually hangs out in the shopping mall where all the food is!
Thanks Anita, don’t see any piles here, probably the cat…

Temp 31.1, wind North 2.4. ☺

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

33.3 here with wind at 3 MPH. Seems like I should play some lottery game today - all 3's.

Port Matilda, PA(Zone 6a)

Geez, ngam, and I thought the squirrels here were a problem eating at the bird feeders!
37 and bright, if chilly, sunshine.

Thomaston, CT

It is 40, & sunny, but rain later--lawn still too squishy to rake, but a good day to pick up branches which I may do---still tired out from Easter--my DIL, who is 8 months preg wanted everyone --15 adults, 4 little ones over--but of course, we all brought the food & did all the cleaning up, plus we had my stepson & wife from ME staying with us, so I'm cleaning here, too--oh, well--nice to see everyone, & really a treat for my 93 year old Mom.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Holy smoke!
It's 8:30 PM, and it's still 32 degrees outside!

A small patch of the huge snowbank out in from to the house has melted down to ground. Anna and I went outside, 'cause we just HAD TO SEE if there was anything green. There sure is!!! Whoo Hoo! We have daffs sprouting!!!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Hurray! All your patience was worth it.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Oh great news Candyce! Spring is springing up everywhere. Yeah!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Oh! I can't wait for the blooms!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - congrats!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

It's so funny! That patch of the front garden must be all of one square foot, but I am so THRILLED to see what's just under the snow and ice!

Clinton, CT(Zone 6b)

34 our now and projected to go down to 24 tonight. So what happens to those tulips which are an inch or two high? Will this finish off the crocus which have emerged? First year I've planted bulbs.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

They should be okay.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

DP ~ I promise you that even if it snows, they'll be OK.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Snow can mess with the crocus flowers though.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Oh yeah. Sorry. I forgot about that, Victor. Thanks for reminding me.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

If they haven't bloomed yet, they're okay. It's once they have that any new snow - especially heavy - will squish them.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Victor ~ if I see any more heavy snow, I swear I will scream!!!
You'll hear me all the way to the bars of your cell.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I believe you and can't blame you!

Clinton, CT(Zone 6b)

Thanks Candyce and Victor...that is reassuring. I couldn't believe it when I heard it was dropping to 24 tonight. Been watching a group of heirloom crocus (a dark, dark purple) which almost bloomed today as well as some other stuff. and thought, well this is the end of them.

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

We're down to about 6-8" of snow. Should be gone in the next few days. Hurray!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Just a couple of piles here and there for us - should go today.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Twenty-four degrees with high thin whispy clouds. Occasional light breeze and some blue sky and the rising sun is showing through.
