OMG Gillian, look at the size of him....I'd be so frightened I'd drop him back in...I'm just laughing to myself, how amazing you are with your children..imagine, filling a pool indoors to enjoy a summer swim...lucky them..you found your niche..that of 'motherhood'...
Best/Worse and What did I learn today? Friends pt.35
Wow! That's a huge fish! And pretty (the spots that is). Did you eat him?
Almost time to put away the stained glass equipment and trade it in for gardening, so before I do so was looking for a few feeder projects in stained glass..while doing so came across this one..looked interesting..just might try it..of course not glass but that's ok..they have an icon that you can click and shows how bluejays have to struggle to get the peanuts...can visualize how to make it already..lol..guess bluejays will be arriving if they haven't spent the winter and are here already so just might start it this weekend..
I know crazy me...
http://thebluejaysgarden.com/9inshellpeanutfeeder.html
I like it but what will you use for the vertical metal "poles"? I bet these tick blue jays off big time!!
Well, Helloooo!
Wow!! Gilli, don't know if I am excited about the size of your fish or the size of your smile. What a catch. Now you enjoy eating him! LOL, looks big enough to feed a couple of families...Oh how cute to set up indoor swimming. I could just picture the splashing and squeeling of excitment.
Ves, so glad to hear your meeting went so nicely...Sorry to hear about those sinus again. Hope you get it under control before it gets worse. Will keep fingers crossed about new pup.
PS, Love your plants!
GG-What a nice trip to be planning.
Liz, LOL, I am up, I am up! Yep love the new project plan. Will have to think about it, Mainly, because i can't picture it in my head and well i don't have a glass cutter...oh woas me! ROFL, so funny you tell DH...I got enough coins to fill ten payphones!...shhhh(not really, but will fake it f I have to)...Now OMG, went back to look at the posts from Sat. Don't know how the heck i missed your "spying" on DH. Oh golly still laughing. that was pretty funny, Well at least dog doors are used for other important things!! heheh, I will keep that part a secret.
Waving hi to Shar...Hope you are up and about a little more today.
Gita, another busy day for you. hope all goes well at docs. Nice "living" building you shared. Now, i am guessing too maybe they rake the dead stuff off, or weed wack. Would be interesting to know.
Betty, yep...having extra company is actually quite common at our house. What is not common is them being laid up. Anyway, Can you please explain the cups and saucer birdhouses, what kind of glue did you use? Maybe if i see one complete, I might understand better. LOL my mind just isn't grasping this concept.
Well, got a busy afternoon
see you in a bit.
Here's a photo of the cup (birdfeeder) and the poem that goes inside when I give them away..
Edited to read:
They did not put the spoon in theirs..I do because it gives the birds a place to perch..for reg. size cup I use teaspoon, for larger cup I use table spoon, for the cups you saw I may have to upgrade to something larger...
Your feathered friends could use a rest,
A dainty teacup would be the best!
A cup of water, a plate of seed,
A tiny perch is all they need!
A pretty spot surrounded with flowers
And you'll be entertained for hours.

Just got in and got a call from DB Bernie, Mathew took a turn for the worse, they just rushed him to Toronto Sick Childrens' Hospital..apparently the infection is back..so hoped that being in the rehabilitation centre was all it would take to get back to health..could used some prayers...
Betty, sorry to hear that. Will be praying for him.
You take care of you. I am fine, so don't worry, OK?

GG,
The roof on the Visitor's Center is just "wild" sod....I am sure they don't mow it. I saw this kind of thing in other places too--some people even have it on their houses....Suppose to be ecologically friendly and a good insulation.
A have been to AK three times, as my Sister lives there--in Homer. An amazing, beautiful area! If you take the Cruise, you will not be going that way.
Homer is mostly known for the 5 mile "Homer Spit" that juts out into the sea. That is chock-full of snamties and bars aand gift shops--ALl very interesting! At the very end is a nice restaurant called "Land's End". That is also where all the Ferries depart from and arrive. ASlso where the commercial fishing ships unload all the fish.
Homer is at the very tip of the Kenai Peninsula and has mountain ranges on both sides. They even have a beach there--NO sand--just beautiful, round, gray rocks of all sizes. Because this beach lays in front a forever eroding, sandy, high cliff, all kind of things keep tumbling down--including big chunks of coal. You can see the dark vein running through the sandy facade....
We were there in July, and it is just as hot there as it is sometimes here. Definitely summery--BUT--as soon as the sun goes down, you need a jacket. The weather near the water is always more temperate than inland.
How long does the daylight go? Well--well into late evening--it just gets dusk until about 11PM or later. Dark comes around 3AM or so. Short nights.
Another interesting fact--wherever you are driving--you have to look out for the young Moose. As their mother's have the new calves, they abandon the yearlings--who wander through peoples yards, the parking lots in the town and all over the roads.
SO many beautiful side trips to be had from Homer! It IS getting a bit more crowded, as the world slowly invades it. Seems people have "discovered" this charming, little town.
Tis is looking down on the Homer Spit from a high hill just outside town. YES! it is 5 miles long! The only other, natural Spit that equals this is somewhere around Asia...
morning all,

hello to all and have a wonderful day
Morning! Truck day here. Have to go to work in a couple of hours. Then I get to work 7 hours. Then work Sat. 7 hours. I get 14 0r 15 hours per week. Thats how much hours have been cut. Then try to get done what the manager wants done and it is impossible. But she seems to think it can be. But of course the District manager is telling her it can be! Someone needs to get corprate in here for a month and see if they can do it up to there standards! Rant over. I really like the job but the stress is really building at times.
Betty sending huge prayers and hopes to them. Hugs to you.
Liz so fun to hear your enthusiasm about the craft projects. I have something else in mind for a friend. No not special friend. But I do have to get busy on it. Just hope it works. Will post pictures if I ever get it done.
Gilli you do look so happy in that picture. Glad it was such a good day. I think we need more of them.
Hi to the rest. I have to get going. Of course the time I do have is just flying.
You all have the day you need.
vicki, i think your company or my company owns each other lol they just dont get it do they!
with us working on three people it is impossible to keep up to standards.
Here is some interesting information I just got from a friend regarding Easter
Easter is always the 1st Sunday after the 1st full moon after the Spring Equinox (which is March 20). This dating of Easter is based on the lunar calendar that Hebrew people used to identify Passover, which is why it moves around on our Roman calendar.
Here's the interesting info. This year is the earliest Easter any of us will ever see the rest of our lives! And only the most elderly of our population have ever seen it this early (95 years old or above!). And none of us have ever, or will ever, see it a day earlier! Here's the facts:
1) The next time Easter will be this early (March 23) will be the year 2228 (220 years from now). The last time it was this early was 1913 (so if you're 95 or older, you are the only ones that were around for that!).
2) The next t time it will be a day earlier, March 22, will be in the year 2285 (277 years from now). The last time it was on March 22 was 1818. So, no one alive today has or will ever see it any earlier than this year!
liz if they aren't the same company they must take classes together! LOL Ahh Corporate Am. You gotta love it! NOt! Sure has changed in 30 years.
Gita, loved the information..I'll copy and send to a few friends if that's ok with you..
Just got to work, I wasn't feeling well so Suzanne brought me to a pharmacy, imagine, 9:10 am and I'm fighting the the pharmacist...
I simply went over to his counter as explained that I wasn't feeling the best, had been to a Doctor, doctor thought it likely could be gallbladder, have tests scheduled but wondered if he could recommend something..showed him were it was painful and burning..now he starts, tells me I'm only masking the problem, could be very serious, go to the doctor, so I tell him again, I've BEEN to the doctor, awaiting tests, and he says, no, go get yourself to the walk-in clinic across the street...hello/hello I just thought he could recommend something other than rollaids or thumbs...so I thanked him and said I'd just go pick up rollaids, he followed me and said if he MUST recommend something then it would be Pepcid Complet...made me agitated...got to pick up a gardening magazine though..Country Almanac - 73 magical garden rooms for inside and out...- gain an outdoor room and host a garden party are 2 articles within as well as $25.00 room makeovers you won't believe..just had to have it, so it will entertain me for part of the day...
Then we are just arriving to the office and Suzanne's cel rings, her daughter who just is 3 months pregnant was in pain last night...she went to emerg and spent 5 hrs. there...dr. is sending her for test this morning..
Gita loved yesterdays photo's of Alaska..I can only dream of going there...in the meantime, I'll enjoy your stories and photo's..
Liz, I thought I saved that stained glass windchime but couldn't find it yesterday so I'll go looking for it today..
Paul is at the hospital today, tmr. and Friday..they are checking him out quite thoroughly re his pain and loss of memory..all caused by the accident last year he had on snowmobile..so I'll have the day to try and fill in so I'm on the search for a couple of things..
Last year in the storm my gazebo collapsed and I had to purchase another one, but, the 4 metal ends were ok so I'm thinking what great project could I do with them...could encase an area and make a sitting room right? So now for ideas..if I get all the ideas, make a plan of my yard, get the materials I require then come spring..voila..I'm ready...
Just thought I'd post the following:
Life is like a garden
And friendship like a flower,
That blooms and grows in beauty
With the sunshine and the shower.
And lovely are the blossoms
That are tended with great care,
By those who work unselfishly
To make the place more fair.
And, like the garden blossoms,
Friendship's flower grows more sweet
When watched and tended carefully
By those we know and meet.
And, if the seed of friendship
Is planted deep and true
And watched with understanding,
Friendship's flower will bloom for you.

Gita - Beautiful pictures!!! Oh I so hope we get to go. It is just so gorgeous and breathtaking! I know the cruise tours go all over - Fairbanks down to Seward by train then cruise the inside passage down to Vancouver. I so want to go!!!!
So I had a very interesting afternoon yesterday. Before I left work, I decided to order compost for my new tomato bed. I ordered 10 yards to be delivered today. This started a chain reaction of fun! I flew home and changed into my grubby clothes and headed out to till the area where the bed is. Well, the tiller wouldn't start. I had it running back in the fall and it was fine. So I kept at it. It sounded like it wanted to turn over but didn't. DH tried and I thought would surely have a heart attack from all the huffing and puffing and pulling! Anyway, I decided to let it sit for a while so I got down and weeded a few of my beds. Tried again - nothing. Weeded along my cobbled walkway then tried again. Success!!! It cranked right up and I did a little dance and hauled it over to the spot.
Well, DH went off and forgot to help me move the 12' x 12' square "bed" he made so I could till the entire area. So I got DD to help. We lifted the square up and had it standing on one side and I figured I'd lean it again the fence. Well, the fence is only 4' high and the square is 12' high so you can only guess what happened as we lowered it to the fence. FLIP! The square flipped over the fence and luckily landed on the corner of my neighbor's fence and rested right there instead of falling into her yard. What also happened was DD got her hand stuck between the square and the fence and let out a pretty good scream. We got her hand out and she had a pretty good looking pinch on the outside of her right hand. DD has absolutely no tolerance for pain so that was the end of her help. (I know, I'm horrible!) So she went in to put her hand in some ice and I went back to try to till. Well when the frame flipped up, it knocked the tiller over and now it wouldn't start again. ARGH!!!! So I let it rest again (glad it gets to rest!) and did some more weeding. I finally got the tiller to work again and tilled up the grass and tried in vain to get all the wire grass shoots out as the sun was going down....
DH came home and helped me move the frame off the fence and back into place. I have to go today and by some Roundup and some of that black fabric weed blocker and put that all down before hauling the dirt back.
I checked on DD and her hand looked really bad - swollen and purple around the pinky knuckle. So we decided to wait and see what it looked like this morning and take her to the doc if needed. Well she woke up and it looked the same so I took her to the doc-n-the-box and they x-rayed it and luckily nothing was broken - just a bruised tendon along the side of her hand. They taped her up and I dropped her at school and headed into work.
So today should be fun once I get home. I will also need to till my veggie garden because some of the dirt will be going in there too and the beds there are covered in weeds from the winter. Hopefully, we can get all of the dirt hauled by the weekend and I can start concentrating on gardening.
WHEW!!!
I think you need the rest of the week off, GG.
Maybe a spa....
or just a day in the hottub.
HA! I wish!!!
gg,
Yes. We also went to Seward. It was a 3 hour drive from Homer. We were hoping to go on the ferry to see the glaciers "calve". Well, we were not even half way there, as so many of the passengers were starting to get sea-sick. The bay was quite stormy and choppy. We were standing in the very front to have something to look at (instead of just rocking and rolling inside). it was almost like being on a roller coaster.....
So, the capt. decided to turn back (It IS his prerogative!) and took us back along the shore. We got to see a lot of sea lions and also some whales breaching--but at a great distance....
The trip cost $125. We all got a $40 refund for not getting to the glaciers.
Here is our cousin, Nata, and her husband who came all the way from Latvia to, FINALLY, see Alaska. Of course--my sister footed all their bills, including the plait trip. Them being there was my main reason for going too.
Gita
Betty,
This is just for you-----
We went to see the "Exit Glacier". it is the only one you can, actually, walk up to. They are all melting so fast!!!!
This was a, sort of, ice cave in the side of the glacier, made by melting waters. That's ME!!!! Touching the ceiling of it! I sort of blend in--don't I? All the blue and gray I am wearing....
BTY--this all was in July of 2006.
Okay, I hope that I can remember all that I wanted to say to those who posted before. First off, sorry to hear that you are having sinus problems Vickie. Make sure that you get to a doctor if you begin to feel worse, or if you suspect the flu. A ouple of you commented on my childhood friend who died. I did attend the funeral and the mother of the boys who own the funeral home told me that he had the flu that is going around and that his family couldn't not get him to ggo and see a doctor. His only 50 year old body wouldn't take the stress of the illness and he died of a massive heart attack. He had not been sick before the flu hit him.
Oh yeah, you said that you wanted to start straightening and organizing and can't now because of pain. First off, you need to get well. I will be your encourager if you'd like when you do begin. I still have more to do, but have been really proud of all that I have done so far. Yep Betty, she did get my mojo going. She will be here tomorrow and if she can give me some tips of setting up a household legal papers file, I would be grateful. It might still be a bit to cool to attack the outdoor shed, so will probably schedule one more visit after tomorrow for her to help me get started on it.
Gilli, I bet if I show my hubby the picture of the fish that you caught, he would be getting a ticket today to fly to where ever it is that you were fishing. ha-ha He wouldn't be quite that bad, but he has always dreamed of doing fishing to the north of us. Maybe he will one of these days.
Gita, thanks for showing the lovely pictures of the area where your sister lives. Hello and big hugs to all others. I feel as though I have been missing in action. I still have other appointments the rest of the week too, so I don't know when I will be able to check back in.
Take good care all.
Ruby
Having a quiet day..but Suzanne wanted to go to Swiss Chalet for lunch so off we went, just prior to our leaving the office Paul dropped in..he's waiting for a date for an operation, pinched nerve needs immediate attention...so off we go..no sooner are we seated that 2 men sit at the table next to us..the one man is telling the younger man all about his marriage..that he slept with wife's sister, sister takes the sheet from the bed, brings it to his wife as proof they are sleeping together..then he goes on to say that he, she and sister all go for therapy and he pays total sum of $8K for all three..then he goes on about DS only being 28..he is very/very heavy set, probably about 50, bald, missing teeth, slobering, very unkept..wonder if it was a dream he kept having or if he was 30 when this happened and omitted telling his dinner companion that..lol..wanted to say something but thought not..think he was speaking extra loudly just so we could hear, so better not to comment...some people's kids.
Not feeling the best, sure wish I hadn't said I'd start teaching to night..maybe it will do me good, once I start I'll forget about the aches and pains...
AND, when Paul was here he gave us our paychecks..they are calling for freezing rain tomorrow morning - p o s s i b l y ! oh wouldn't that be nice, yet another day off...I'm wicket aren't I..
Jeannine, you've had quite the day yesterday..lucky DD didn't break anything...are you cursing Murphy, is all this work primarily because Murphy destroys the beds, or are you just planting another? You be careful tonight..goodness knows what kind of mischief you can get into..
Gita, love the ice cave..the ones that look like snow that I've posted are also solid ice...beautiful site..only thing nicer than the ice caves I've seen is when we were near Branson, you could take trips down under the mountain and see the beautiful onyx (perhaps not onyx) but crystalites or something..just shinning... the historian said the same area was used during the civil war to hide supplies and soldiers, opened simply by large rock and hidden in greenery...then in later years, it was used by they said the Klu Klux Clan as meeting area and ???? so it was very interesting..would love to make that trip again..
Ruby, are you gaining any ground with the Dr.'s...omg you truly are gaining from this organizing specialty person aren't you...imagine, already thinking about the back shed..
Shar..how are you feeling today? Are you getting update from your physician..are you able to eat now? Hopefully you can enjoy some of the sunshine, that always makes one smile after a long winter..sun rays will help heal..
Ves your job sounds exactly like my old job that I got laid off from. Our doctor used to cut back and expect interns and free labor to know everything and do it fast for free, no breaks or anything and go home when it is done, no overtime either.
The impossible. Funny how bosses are so dumb, no common sence. That God their employees are usually smarter than they are most of the time.
GG sounds like this is going around today. I had my finals in these two back to back classes and my head is pounding and nothing is going right. I thought I was going to pass out in the grocery store and get my purse ripped off or crash off the road.
Bought a lot of plants yesterday.
Betty, I sure hope you are feeling Better. Bells and whistles are beginning to ring. I am growing quite concerned about burning. This isn't sounding too cool. You have been quiet, I hope it is because you are having a class.
...Also, please know I am still praying for Matthew and his family, any word on him yet?
Ruby, I was so sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. It is just so devestating to hear of these things. Especially when we know that help could have been issued. Either way it sad for everyone to loose a good firend of so many years...and so young, I am sure that you have many good memories and smile on them daily...Gentle hugs to you.
I hope you appointments were good results.
Ves/Liz/Dawan...Sure understand what you all going through. This seems to an epidemic in the corprate world,LOL. We can just do what we can and hope that the immediate boss sees .
Shar, I hope you are regaining your good health. I miss your posts. Glad to see you are able to come in when you can. Smile and hug
GG...I sure hope you are able to go to Alaska!! wow, what a wonderful vacation that will be.
So sorry to hear DD getting hurt in the garden, thank goodness it was not a break. I got to admit, You sure are an inspiration for me to get into mine! LOL, just waiting for good weather.
Gita,Spectacular photo's! I really like the one of you in the Cave. Almost looks as if you are reaching for infinity!! Very Cool.
Wonder, I hope you had a good day. Sorry to hear of your DD migrane...hope she is feeling better.
Hope you can get to crafting next week.
Liz... Big smiles to you!! Love the ghost plant, pretty neat. What you two up to tonight.
I'll just say good night now, Take care everyone.
See you tomorrow.
Yes, class just left..some are doing Muskoka chairs, one is doing a tree slab with painted bird and morning glories..the other a clock with pears on it..the other 3 not starting till next week..
So it's off to bed..tired tonight..thought better not to have supper so tummy not quite as bad..thanks to the pharmacist..lol..I've got meds to take...
Dawn, glad that you have completed your studies..now what will the next step be..is it a study course where they help you find employment or must you do it on your own??? You should NOT be driving or shopping feeling as bad as you were Dawn..nothing as bad as a migraine..maybe now you'll be able to rest a bit..
Judy, no news on Mathew tonight, guess no news is good news! your prayers do help and are much appreciated....soon be weekend time Judy, maybe you'll get the parcel tomorrow..I'm on an Easter Swap and wouldn't you know, I mailed it 2 weekds ago last Friday and it still didn't arrive and I think to ship it was something like $15.00...I don't know..would be better for me to take a trip to Buffalo once a month and mail all my parcels..Laura still didn't get her 2nd parcel..what will you be up to this weekend, anything planned? You'll soon be going to the trailer will you not?
How's work going..do they expect you to do the work of all those who have been layed off..poor Liz and Vicki..seems they are taking on the work of 2...more you do, more they think you are capable of..
Shar, thinking of you this evening..are you gaining strength...
Hi Gita, how are all your seedlings doing???
Vicki, will you be going to check up on new 'doggie' tomorrow night with DH? Hope it's the dog for younow that you've put in your 2 days, what do you have planned for the rest of the week??
Best of today...a sunshine day..spring is on her way!
Worse of today..hearing about Danielle (Suzanne's daughter) Paul coming into the office in sooo much pain..reminded me of when Roger had the operation for pinched nerve...thinking and waiting for a call re Mathew...
What did I learn today..not to purchase a voice activated phone..Jeff the guy that made all those calls Sunday night called, Suzanne told him about calling me, he didn't remember but said he didn't make the calls that the cel is voice activated and he must have mentioned Paul's name and it dialed the office number....
Should be cleaning the craft room but lordy it's a disaster..perhaps in the morning...
Off to bed...hoping to get a good night's sleep..
Waving goodnight...
evening all,
gita, that was a neat picture of the ice cave in the glacier.
dawn, take care of yourself try to get some rest dont worry about the plants the'll wait for you :)
judy, went to dinner and now that were overstuffed well its that magic moment i think were hitting the couch should be out for the count shortly lol. how was your day.
betty, i hope all is well with mathew,
and some of the people you get seated next to lol
what a conversation! it is so hard for me to intercept anything like that because dh usually has his back to the person and is making faces and wispering comments and i generally loose it from laughing.
cool maby you will find the windchime picture, oh poor paul he has had a rough time.
oh so thats how you got those calls... yes that is the corporate set rules 3 jobs per person and believe me my boss and i are complaining quite a bit thease days!
being short handed, working 6 days, and then they have the nerve to bring in new manufacturers and send us plano guides and expect us to do all our other work and have thease lines all on the shelf, tagged, shelf tags put up and know all about each and every product ya right i would love to see them break a sweat and work lol.
jeannine, hope dd is doing better poor thing, boy did you have a day ! hope things get better for you.
hi laura, hope your good
hi shar, hope your good and getting stronger.
hi rachel, tropicanna, gilli ruby,cat
Betty,
Many of my seeds are "up". The Morning Glory beat everyone to it! Others are: Tomatoes, Gailardia (Blanket Flower), and the Cosmos. I am most excited about a Moonflower Vine seed that is starting to rise out of the soil. I soaked it first in wet paper towels for about 5 days--along with all my Datura seeds. They are not up yet--but I know they are slow to germinate.
I finally set up the first of my two 3' shop lights this morning--as all these seedlings really needed it. Have the other one to go yet....Was a bit scared of all the sharp edges on the fixture and the wiring I had to do. having succeeded once--now I feel more confident doing the other. I have no pictures---but will take some when I have finished all this set-up.
All my seeds for Columbines, and other biennials are still in the fridge--kind of trying to give them a fake winter. Need to seed them soon! I have never done any winter-sowing. Seems such an "in" thing nowadays! I will see how the fridge works. Cold is cold---outside or in the fridge--in my book.
Tomorrow I am having my varicose vein surgery. Gotta be at the Hospital at 12 noon. can't eat or drink anything after midnight tonight--and nothing in the morning either. I hate that! Sipping on my wine here while I can........:o)
Not worried about this surgery! I have had so many--they become Ho-Hum! In and out!
Everything is outpatient now! They will use the "laser route" on my veins. They insert a thin wire up (or down) the vein and then "zap" it with an electrical current, and----FZZZZZ--the vein is destroyed! My only question is--"What happens to all the blood in it???"
It will be a couple days of bandages around my leg and then I will (voluntarily) wear those full-length, surgical stockings for a while. They really feel good--once you get them on, but it is so hard to get them on--and off!!! My vascular Dr. would like me to wear them all the time! I said I would wear them (as needed) only while the weather is cool. See? I don't listen too well either......I am stubborn! I think I am invincible!!!!
Just because I don't go on and on here about my aches and pains and problems---does not mean I don't have any. I don't generally talk about all those kind of things to anyone, because I KNOW that I will overcome whatever it is!
Picture attached----
You think your dog is big???? This is my Sister (Valda) and our cousins (from Latvia) in the living room (in Valda's house in AK) and her dog Zoe. Zoe is an "Anatolian"--an ancient Turkish shepherding dog breed--at least 6000 years old (the breed, that is...). This dog's back was level with the dining room table!!!! He was huge!
She got him as a puppy from a friend there that breeds them. She got the runt--and her "friend" fee was still $300. They sell for about $3000!
After we all left--Valda gave him back to a friend who had bought Zoe's brother--as the dog was too big for her small house and also needed a place to roam and something to "shephers"--like her friends 2 toddlers. A happy ending all around!
Gorgeous dog, Gita. He sure is a big one.
Hello other good buddies. I hope that those who are still ailing, will get better soon and those who are still healthy will stay that way.
Not too much to report this early morning. I am just realizing how busy my past few weeks have been and how busy the ones coming up are going to be also. The organizer comes at 9:30 AM today. There are still a few trouble areas inside that I need assistance with. I believe that it is still a bit too chilly to start on the shed. I will probably put that off for a few weeks or a month and then do it. Yes Betty, I am very proud of all the accomplishments since she ws here. If I can keep up this pace, it won't take very long before t hings are finally straightened. The challenge will be to keep them organized.
Anyway, gonna scoot along and start morning chores. I will check back later today. Have a good one all.
Ruby
hello everyone
betty hope you keep getting better...i would be at a loss without you... you in bed for even a day or two would send me into a spin!! well, i would miss you...
you have all been so busy. does it amaze anyone else how fast our lives zoom by?? all so busy and yet we all have a little room left for each of our special friends here.
love and hugs to you all.....
day off tomorrow. its seems DD headache was due to a bad tooth so off to the dentist early tomorrow.
still doing the crafts. my SP;s gift is in the mail, both months in one to save on postage. so when it arrives you will be able to see.
looking around at bear patterns and mohair fur... just looking at the moment... a little pricy.
easter is fast approaching which is celebrated substantially over here. going away for 5 days which is needed i can tell you.
well its late and you all must be sleeping.
'angels keep you in the night'
xx
Laura, let me know the size of the teddy you want to make as I have left overs..could be enough...glad that DD finally has found the root of her sore tooth..the way the post office service is though, the baby bear would end up an antique..you'll be having your winter by the time my other package arrives..so much for 8 day delivery right...
I'll call June tonight and ask her for some of her patters, think she even has a minimal as a 2 piece pattern for bears..she collects them and makes them..so will check it out and trace them for you or send copies..where will you be going Laura for you vacation? Will do you the world of good..Hope meds are working better for you and the dear boss is taking it easy on you and is more understanding...can only hope!
Ruby, once your organized you'll so enjoy it that it won't take long on a daily basis to keep it up and you'll have a routine which will make it easier..Michelle (stager) called last week and wanted to come over and do my house staging..that's where they come in, take what you have and re-arrange to give it a 'flair'..my only problem is, when I purchase something or make something I place it where I think I like it and it's there for eternity..so if she comes and changes everything then I'm not happy and change it back, I'd hate to hurt her feelings because she's not charging me for it..guess I'd have to tell her upfront ..
Gita, wow that's quite a size dog..loved the photo's..I had a St. Bernard but once Roger died it got very protective and really was dangerous to others..once day his brother dropped in, as usual I never locked my doors and Chico attacked him..about 8 stitchesin the tummy so I had to have him destroyed..well I think I had him destroyed...I took him to the vets to do so and they called me back that night and said a farmer really wanted him and he lived on zillions of acres would I let him go..said I didn't want the responsibility of something happening nor did I want to know if he was still alive because then I'd worry about him having a good home..so told them to do as they saw fit, but no calls to let me know...so, never knew his fate...gee I loved him..we lived on the water, I'm a poor swimmer and everytime I'd go swimming, he'd come out and grab me and bring me back in..not sure if he could sense something..these big dogs can be so powerful..and dangerous at times..
Zoe looks precious...
Gita, read somewhere about winter sowing..is that where you spread the seeds on the ground even with snow on the ground and you get good results..will go in search of 'winter sowing'
Oh Laura a vacation! When you go you have fun and get lots of rest. You are sounding pretty good right now. Isn't it nice when things are going pretty good?
Betty keeping Matthew in my thoughts. You sound good today also. Are you feeling better? Getting enough to eat? Your birdfeeder is lovely. My little project will be done today. Will get a picture of it if I can as it is wire.
Ruby cheer me on. I need that at times. Today will be washing dishes and doing some laundry. You know just general housecleaning. Watering my seedlings. Moving some of the cold hardy ones to the greenhouse. I keep it heated but not real hot unless the sun comes out. Then it can hit 80 degrees out there.
Now you guys we are losing snow but nowhere near able to garden yet or even prep soil! So jealous. Good thing I have seeds and soil to play in.
Gita I love those big dogs. I prefer them but since We are getting older(not ancient yet) I'm trying to stay around 80# or less. If needed I'd like to be able to pick them up. The one dog I couldn't and had to force him into the jeep and it broke my heart.Especially since he was so sick.
Jeannine hope the DD is better today.
Liz have a good day at work! I keep trying to give the boss subtle hints and she agrees but has to keep pushing. Gosh it is a vicious circle. I kept to myself pretty much yesterday and just worked. Someone repeated something I said to the manager and it was written in one of her notes. There is only one person that could of repeated it.Well I was dumb for saying anything. But it was taken too seriously also. So I stayed away from her and only talked to her when necessary. I worried about it for the 4 days I had off. Hate it when you can't trust people and have to watch everything you say.
I haven't hit DH with this dog yet. But am hoping to go tonight. I am just so scared to go. I keep thinking it is hopeless. That we are expecting too much!
Better get the rest of the day started.
You all have the day you need.
Best: manager is back to normal with me
Worst: That people can't be trusted or don't know when to keep their mouth shut.
Learned: to be very careful with what I say. I had forgotten.
Vicki that's so disappointing..when friends/family tell me something I usually always ask, 'is this confidential' or when I'm the one talking I say 'this is confidential' then if this sacred trust is broken, I've learnt a good lesson...general talk - I repeat just for conversation interest..
I'm frazzled right now..yesterday or could be the day before I was reading threads to occupy my time and came across one that said Cathy's father passed away this morning, so we all sent condolences..this morning I'm sitting here and an alarm goes off, bell ringing, Cathy/Cathy OMG could it be our Cathy...so I'm off to check more visited thread in hope of finding out..she hasn't been on in awhile so please pray for her needs..just incase!
Sent Cathy a d-mail just incase..I visit too many threads as I've gone on so many but can't find the reference..do know there is another Kathy..so willsay prayers for both..
Greg and Kyle (GS) are in Toronto today..Kyle goes to Sick Children's Hospital for his monthly eye examination..he's loosing his sight and they monitor his needs very closely..let's hope he has a good report...
My SIL just called, she is doing a workshop on a 4 or 5' lighthouse next month and thought she'd send me a photo..she will have about 6 different designs as a choice for each participant..put my name down and will try and find others to attend..now I'll be checking out different lighthouses..lol
bhaugh (Beckie) just posted to say it was not our Cathy's father who passed...don't want it to be someone elses father, but would have hated not to be there for Cathy!
Hi...
Betty, you are such a caring person. I am so glad it was not our Cathy too. Prayers winging up for the other Kathy.
Now...I am so jumping up and down, I know Liz will be too.LOL A Lighthouse!!!
How cool, I love them. Have been thinking about putting one up at the house. Would make a great marker from the lake...eye brows raised Betty, anxiously waiting for blueprints...
So glad to hear you had class yesterday. You know my son makes those at school, in wood club. These kids make them and they sell the chairs, all the proceeds got to the nursing homes. He loves it, hahaha, said I would get him the wood could he make one for me...he said sure for 60 bucks. I gave up the argue that I was not intending he do it at school. LOL so saving my lunch money...ROTFL, only have 60 left to go!!
My neice is coming for impromtu visit. Will be looking at a car so stopping in on the way. We will have a grand time. Nice weather, so maybe a fire out of door will be a great spring pick me up. Told her all about our feeders, lol finally I said well you will get to see it, just so happy to have made something for my yard. Now Liz sent me a tin man pictures...Thank you Liz! so will begin collecting cans.
Ves, I will keep you in mind as you go interview new pup. hoping it will be a good choice if not, one will come along...Oh a wire project?? Can't wait to see your creation. Bummer what happened at work, glad you and boss settled things though. Hope today is better.
Laura, how nice a vacation!! I also hope you get lots of relaxation in. I love that your making a teddy bear. i hope it all works out fine. Had a book a long time ago but never made one.
Dawn, sure hope your migrane goes away. You and GG will enjoy making the feeder. and I will look forward to seeing them...
GG, were you able to get in the garden last night? Know tonight is survivor, Who are you routing for??
Gita, Hope the surgery goes well.
Ok break over, Better get back to work.
