You are so funny Judy, was going to post a photo the night before last, shucks I only got it what on the Friday or Sat. - anyway, went to check for dryness and 3 large leaves were DEAD!!! Oh my, I thought how could a plant die in only a couple of days..I'm going to have to do some kind of ritual to rid my house of evil spirits, honestly, somethings wrong..which does your son do Judy, the chair or the lighthouse..tell him Auntie Betty said - NO $$$$ make it an early Mothers Day gift..I always tell the boys what I want, often the give it to me prior to the date lol and then when the day comes they feel badly and I get a 2nd gift..lol..sometimes they buy me something they would like..i.e. Greg called this morning, he was taking Kyle to Sick Kids Hospital and then had runnng around all over the city for work so call me from home and asked where the GPS was..said it would make his life easier today IF he used it..lol - share and share alike right? Judy when will you start going to the cottage????
Dawn, do you not think you should be at the Doctors, perhaps it's your bad back, something pressing on a nerve..needs to be checked..you are having quite a few of late..
Because I like my garden kind of country - wildflowers etc. really don't think the lighthouse will blend in, but it's a day out with SIL and a group of girls so why not..am sure somewhere on the property I'll find a home for it..
Gita, you should be back from having your surgery...probably have to sleep most of the day if they've given you something to ease the pain..will you be able to get around or will you have to stay in bed for a few days..hope someone nearby is there to check on you and pamper you!! Lazer treatment..hmm..still hurts though..they've come such a long way with that type of surgery..
Vicki, why not go for a sneak preview before you tell DH...
My DS called to say she went to obedience school yesterday - she teaches 3 days a week..brought one of her puppies and another dog came to attack it, stupid Sharon gets in the middle of it to try and separate them (something one should never do - know it's automatic instinct, but still) dog was quite large, dragged her onto her knees and then she fell..she hurt herself while in Cuba a few weeks ago, just gettng mobile and now hurt herself again..she's an accident waiting to happen!

The Best Day of My Life
Today, when I awoke, I suddenly realized that this is the best day of my life, ever!
There were times when I wondered if I would make it to today; but I did! And because I did I'm going to celebrate! Today, I'm going to celebrate what an unbelievable life I have had so far: the accomplishments, the many blessings, and, yes, even the hardships because they have served to make me stronger.
I will go through this day with my head held high, and a happy heart. I will marvel at God's seemingly simple gifts: the morning dew, the sun, the clouds, the trees, the flowers, the birds.
Today, none of these miraculous creations will escape my notice. Today, I will share my excitement for life with other people. I'll make someone smile. I'll go out of my way to perform an unexpected act of kindness for someone I don't even know. Today, I'll give a sincere compliment to someone who seems down. I'll tell a child how special he is, and I'll tell someone I love just how deeply I care for her and how much she means to me.
Today is the day I quit worrying about what I don't have and start being grateful for all the wonderful things God has already given me. I'll remember that to worry is just a waste of time because my faith in God and his Divine Plan ensures everything will be just fine.
And tonight, before I go to bed, I'll go outside and Praise my eyes to the heavens. I will stand in awe at the beauty of the stars and the moon, and I will praise God for these magnificent treasures.
As the day ends and I lay my head down on my pillow, I will thank the Almighty for the best day of my life. And I will sleep the sleep of a contented child, excited with expectation because I know tomorrow is going to be the best day of my life, ever!

AMEN
...perfect timing Betty, Thank you.
Betty, DS and group makes the ardock chairs. The afterschool club sells the chairs, so he was figuring I would buy some...so cute.
We will begin going to house the end of the month. Taking off Thursday and Friday, as you know kids will be on school break. I am really anxious to see what DH has done during the winter. He is going this weekend to install a temporary kitchen sink. When we all go I am sure i will be doing some major cleaning as LOL that was not on their agenda. Plus i am a little extra excited as this year I can begin the gardens. Last fall they finished all the outside work to the house so now my fun begins.
Ok...woohoo time to go, you have nice evening, I'll check in later.

Was not the dog for us. Someone else got him. But found another I will go and check on tomorrow by myself.
Betty,
Click on "criterologist" name, and (now) under the names are all the articles they have written that have been published on DG. She has written at least 3 articles on growing from seed--one of them is on Winter-sowing". Also--many, many others. I think there is also a Winter Sowing Forum. Please look!
You can find critter on all Posts in the Mid Atlantic Forum. She is everywhere!
My surgery went well. Walked out of the Hospital and have been up and about around the house. No pain at all so far--but I think the dr. numbed the whole area. My leg is tightly wrapped in ace bandages--from ankle to groin.
NO restrictions and walking is encouraged. No laying in bed needed....Only my throat is sore from that breathing thing they stick in your throat when you are "under".

edited to add the below...
Saw your micro fiber "dusting slippers" advertised in this week's brochure from Bed bath and Beyond. $9.99 Do you have one of those stores where you live?
This message was edited Mar 13, 2008 8:22 PM
Gita, so pleased that you went through the procedure with no complications..but do not overdo..will look for the info provided by Critter on the winter sowing..found the notion of it intriguing..
OMG I've been looking for a store that carried them..DIL thought they were a great idea so thought if I could find I'd include them in her May birthday box..will check to see if such a store is in our area...
Greg/Melanie and the boys came in for 1/2 hr. - it was not an actual appt. Kyle had this time, they've chosen him to be part of a study they are doing at Sick Children's Hospital..they were gabby gabby and the boys wanted to get home so I didn't quite get what the study is about other than of course his failing eyesight..tomorrow Noah is playing in a hockey tournament and Kyle is going with them..then Mel will drop Kyle off because we're doing a special project for his Dad and Mom for Easter, have to find something for Noah to do this week..they are all leaving for a snowmobile weekend early Sat. morning and grandma gets to dog sit 'Sophie' my goodness she's a giant and full of energy so guess I'll be taking walks..
While at Sick Children's Hospital they did go see Mathew..Dr.'s have the infection under control today, his temperature is just above normal..they have a few more things to try to stabilize him and then they will send him back to rehab for at least 6 weeks..so here's hoping..
Vicki, maybe tomorrow...best not to rush these things...he/she is out there, any day you'll find the right one..
Had my bath, making a hot chocolate and toast and it's off to bed for me..short day tomorrow..looking forward to finishing my stained glass piece this weekend...
You gals have posted that you are working on a few craft items..am waiting patiently to see them...
Any day now, special secret pal gifts should be arriving..lol..
Best of today..hearing that Mathew is improving...
Worse of the day..should have had my slippers on..just went to show the kids my stained glass piece and think I have a sliver of glass in my foot..yuk
What did I learn today..Suzanne trying to fix me up with the Trustee that often comes into the office..nice man..63 - no children - no ex. lol...keep telling her I'm quite capable of entertaining myself, looking after myself etc.etc. but she's trying...
So it's good night all..sleep well
Guess I just missed you, Betty. Nice to read your post and to know that Matthew is doing better. I also hope your tummy is doing better.
I have missed so much there is no point it trying to catch up, but thank you for all the well wishes and good thoughts. i am feeling better yesterday and today, just in time for 70 degree weather. I even played outside for awhile today. And yesterday I drove out to a nursery to spend a couple of hours, so I am almost back to normal.
This flu was not a fun strain. I had never had the flu, so that was bad enough, but the effects were the worst. I still am having trouble with dehydration, and keep chipped ice available at all times. I start the day with 2 litres of electrolytes, and am getting pretty tired of filling up on that so early in the day, but guess i will follow orders. I do know that 3 people in this county have died recently from complications of this flu strain, so I am fortunate, I know. They were all younger than me, and none was sick, but one was diabetic. Anyway, enough of me and the flu, I am tired of both.
My nursery guy delivered some roses that I picked out yesterday and I planted a few of them. Tomorrow maybe my handy man guy will be here to dig more holes for me. He would have finished the job today, but he had an early afternoon appointment, so that didn't work too well.
I am so ready for spring..
Hello to everybody, hope you are also enjoying good weather. I won't take time to catch up, but will tell you:
Best: being able to work in the sunshine all afternoon.
Worst: having such a dry parched mouth from the dehydration, it is really bothering me.
What did I learn: to never take good healh for granted.
Best to you in your work place, in your homes, in your gardens and in your families. Stay well.
Shar
Hello all! I have been a busy little bee - both at work and home!
Came home yesterday to 10 yards of gorgeous compost in my driveway (only a gardener thinks dirt is pretty!). Got the tilled area sprayed with Roundup then covered the bottom of my bed with the fabric to keep the weeds out. Of course, was short a 12x2' piece. Used newspaper instead and hope it will keep the weeds at bay.
Started filling the bed w/ DH's help. DS and firends wanted nothing more to do then play in the dirt. Of course, at 6pm on a work night, I was in no mood to have 5 kids climbing all over the pile and throwing compost here and there. Stopped around 7:30 with the bed about 3/4 full.
Very busy at work today and decided to take tomorrow off to work in the yard because it's suppose to rain starting Friday night and I really don't want black mud running down my driveway. When I got home today, I tilled the beds in my other garden - which after doing it was pretty stupid as that just chewed up all the weeds and made it exceptionally hard to pick them out. Finished one whole bed and DH filled it back up with compost. I'm 2/3 done on the second one but I'll finish that tomorrow along with the other 2. I want to also try and get some seeds in my "bio-dome" seed starter. It holds 120 seedlings and I had alot of success with it last year.
This weekend I need to try and finish the kid's bathroom so I can clean up the upstairs hall. I think we're doing a girl's night out Saturday night so a reprieve is on the horizon!
I'll be posting some pictures of my new tomato bed so you can see what I've done and I will check back in with y'all tomorrow. BTW - DD is doing well and surprisingly, has not milked the sore, bruised hand for any pity. Could maturity be around the corner? Nah!!!
Cheers!!
Jeannine
Wow gita that is a big dog. Never heard of that breed before. I will pray for your surgury to go well and for you not to have too much pain after.
Betty it cracks me up that you guys have a totally different name for Adirondack chairs. They name them for the Adirondack's in New York where the presidents and old Rich American families vacationed and the chairs were made there. I wonder why you call them some other name there.
My migraine hit at school so I had no choice but to drive home but it went on all night. Thank God it left. I started to feel one coming on from all my digging and planting today.
I have more classes but have a week off. This was work and Power Point. The next is Excel and the last two were more basic classes all part of a master plan to get an administrative secretary certificate and a Clerical one too. They don't help you get a job but my teacher would if she could help us.
I was going to try to get a job in the Secretarial Pool at NASA, BUT my friend who works there that I have been friends with for 35 years and I are having a difference of oppinion on a hot issue right now, so who knows if she will tell me when they are hiring again or not. I don't know the name of the company either, they are subcontractors for NASA. I should just go to NASA ITSELF. I need to study for the civil service exam though.
I got a Rose package today with balloon flower seeds and a neat kitchen towel from my secret pal and I LOVE THEM AND PLANTED THEM, I have another secret Pal too that sends me gardening books and a big box of seeds so I don't know if the rose is from her or my secret Pal here on this thread. No return address on the box. If it is from you "THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!"
CROSSPOSTED I love rich compost color, you guys are so lucky the dirt in our gardens is sort of tanish white looking unless it's wet and then if you step in it, it will eat you or suck the boots off your feet. Caleche is what it is called and it sucks.
I need to get compost too and some topsoil and I ordered some milorganite fertilizer too so I can plant in my new block planter, asap.
I have a day of gardening ahead more than likely.
evening all,
gita, now that is one big dog! sounds like all went well with you today.
laura, enjoy your time off any special palns to go somewhere?hope dd is feeling better.

Shar, it's so nice to see you posting and sounding yourself! Oh to be gardening and enjoying 70 degree weather..what I wouldn't give..tummy still giving me mega problems, anti-acids seem to help tone it done a bit..your rose plants must be quite large, are they specialty shrubs??? Is Ethan coming this weekend or are you waiting yet for another few weeks till you totally regain your strength and no possibility of his catching it???
Jeannine, a day off for you from work but sounds as though you've enough to keep you busy for today and weekend..where do you go on 'girls night out'..
Liz, the lighthouse will be quite a size, but in talking with someone I think I'll design it more to be a 'cairn' which might suit my country garden more than actual look of a lighthouse..now I'm on the lookout for 'cairns'..as for Kyle Liz, he's in a vision 'study' by Sick Children's Hospital..not many participating so don't think it will help him out but may help children yet to suffer from same infliction..
Dawn, think perhaps you are working too hard out in the garden, that's a lot of heavy work..better look after yourself sweetie..prayers that you do infact get the job you are looking for...will make all the studying worthwhile...
Better stop gabbing and get myself ready for work..only 4 hrs. today..will be home by 2:30 ...talk later
Edited to say:
No gardening in my neck of the woods..here's what is in my backyard this morning...I dream of all the lovely weather you are all enjoying...can't imagine when this white will finally leave...
This message was edited Mar 14, 2008 6:43 AM
OMG Betty! Do you guys have a problem with flooding when all that snow melts? When it all be gone - when does your spring start?
Well, I'm getting ready to start my gardening day so I will check in soon!
Jeannine
Jeannine, all depends how quickly the temps. rise or if we get a lot of rain..we're all hoping that it's gradual or I could end up with swimming pool in my basement..I try each spring to make trenches but the ground is frozen deep this year so probably won't be able to....
It was so foggy coming in we had no idea where we were at any point of our travel..lucky we found the office..lol

A Quick Check For Alzheimer's
The following was developed as a mental age assessment by the School of Psychiatry at Harvard University. Take your time and see if you can read each line aloud without a mistake.
The average person over 40 years of age cannot do it!
1. This is this cat.
2. This is is cat.
3. This is how cat.
4. This is to cat.
5. This is keep cat.
6. This is an cat.
7. This is old cat.
8. This is fart cat.
9. This is busy cat.
10. This is for cat.
11. This is forty cat.
12. This is seconds cat.
Now go back and read the third word in each line from the top down and
I bet you cannot resist passing it on.
That is wayyyy too funny, Betty.
Geesh! I thought it was really going to be profound!
lol...somedays we just need something 'funny' and not 'profound'
Jeannine, do you know of a golf course nearby you..co-worker looking for somewhere to go where there is nice weather and not days to drive to???
hehehe, What a great way to start the AM. Just love waking with laughter!
Good Morning!
Wow, it's Friday, I am so glad...been a long week.
HI Shar, So happy to see you. Geesh that flu is something wicked. I am really glad the worst is over. So happy to hear you were able to get out and enjoy the weather. Made it to 62 here yesterday. I am keeping my eyes peeled for Robins, soon as they are home, I know Spring is here to stay. I heard a different kind of song yesterday, tried to see where it was coming from but didn't.
I so enjoyed hear the birds chattering. People walking around even greeting eachother. Ahhh, what a difference nice weather makes. Only problem is Wahhhh, I don't want to work. LOL.
What kind of Roses did you get??
Dawn, Are you framiliar with power point and excel. They are fun to work in once you get to know them. I use excel, know a few tricks. Only asics but enought to get what i need done. So i hope you enjoy the programs. Now you are off how nice. I hope those headaches go away so you can enjoy your time.
Blinking eyes here, Did you say Txt msg?? woohoo, will make sure batteries are charged, LOL. Well, just hope you have a good ride.
GG, sounds like you are off to a great start. Still got a layer of snow/ice in my yard. So was just nice to walk the path and have a look at my WEEDS,LOL...got lots to do. You are so cute, yep nothing like a heap o soil to make us happy!
Ves, Well...somethings just can't be rushed. Wonder maybe Ty should go with you... See who he goes to, might work and you get to see how they interact from getgo.
Ruby says Hi to all, may not be in today but will be back on weekend.
Best for yesterday:
Neice came to visit. Shar feeling better, Chattering Birds.
Worst:thankfully...nothing I can think of.
Learned...LOL, I have no patients to wait for company to arrive.
Hey...you all have a good day, no package Betty maybe today.
Hi there, I've been lurking and reading, since I recognize so many of the nicks in this thread. :) And another place to chat, what more could a gurl want? LOL
Well hello there doccat5, no more lurking, you've made the 1st step to be one of us...a friendship circle made up of the nicest bunch of people you'll ever meet..so hop right in..tell us a little about yourself..big welcome girls to this brave soul who is joining in...
What are you up to today, anything special??? I'm sitting here patiently, or rather, impatiently waiting for 1 1/2 hrs. to fly by so I can head home..so want to get home and play..
Thought about it, I'm going to get dressed in my glad rags, get my trusty old shovel, dig a space in one of the gardens..get the bird feeders all filled, set a chair and enjoy some of this weekends sunshine..not as lucky as you all, but perhaps I can still enjoy!
Hi, Doccat......wondered how long it would take you to chime in!! It's one of the places where I thought you might fit.
Welcome.
Thanks, Betty. I know many of these lovely ladies from the Mid-Atlantic forum and we met at the RU in MD earlier this year.
I haven't been on DG all that long, but love the site and think it's some of the best money I ever spent. LOL I also write for Dave.
DH and I have been doing organic gardening of and on for over 20 years. We have about 3/4 of an acre and are starting to convert most of it to flower beds as well as veggies. We are tired of mowing, the minute you sit down on that riding mower it goes to 5 acres no problem. Hope the assessor guy never figures that out..........LOL
I'm a newbie with the perennials so I'm learning lots and lots from these ladies. If I can get a photo op set up, wait till you guys see HollyS's ornamental sweet taters on Bokashi tea! They're leaping outa the jar!! I'm impressed!!!
DH and I have been married 36 years, have 2 grown sons and 2 beautiful grand babies. A girl 4 and a boy just turned 1. And they do remind me why you should have your kids while your young, wear us out, but it's wonderful! ;)
We also breed Boston Terriers, I have 5. My poor Tankie is not a happy boy as 2 of the girls are in season and he's not getting to do nuthin. One is do to go in for spaying, she's a rescue and not really suitable to keep in the lines, but a darling and a daddy's girl. And the other is his sister, who is not interested, even!!! Waiting for my Bitty to come in and then he'll get lucky. LOL
Glad to have found the thread with all these familiar faces......:)
Cathy aka doc
Welcome Doccat!!
You have come to the right place for chattering. LOL We'll chat your eyes out.
Betty, I have a question for you. Have a stained glass light shade. I am thinking of using it as water basin for a fountain. My very first Trash to Treasure idea.
So question is it should hold water or will the lead deteriate?
That is going to be my weekend project.
Now , you enjoy sitting out in fresh air and watch the birds. Was thinking to do the same fill up my new feeder first thing tomorrow morning. Oh great joy, the raccoons are going to love me.
Doc, looks as though you've quite a full life, but am sure you can fit us in lol..we're quite a group..we'll be offering and taking advice from you..rest assured..we're always up to something..quite an undertaking breeding dogs..my sister Sharon has show dogs and breeds them as well..hers are American Eskimo dogs..so there is always a lot of hair dragging around!
Young grandchildren..I have 4 grandsons..12/11/10/9...they are at an age that they now entertain me..when spending the night I'm the one put to bed early..lol..they are grand...love them to death..
Perrenials, what fun..I've loads of seeds to plant, just can't wait..
Hi to the hubby, am sure he'll be pleased you've found yet another part time home and family..lol..
Another 45 minutes to go and I'm homeward bound..better do some work here at the office before I leave..
Talk to you all later....
Almost got away working..rather gab to you Judy..
Is it foil or tracking? the foil could deteriorate if holding water for long period of time..you could seal it though which would prolong it's life..if it's not foiled but had the tracking it will be stronger and you could use silicone to seal it properly..could you show me a photo and I can better see to give you advice? Would hate to lead you in the wrong direction..as though I've never done that...do hope your parcels arrive..nothing like sending you a 'belated' Christmas parcel..but then, if I were wise I'd say it was an 'early' Christmas parcel and you'd think just how organized I am..but then you knew it had made the Florida trip in hopes we'd have met..lol...and I've send by 'secret buddy' gift out at same time so that should be arriving..oh lordy don't I love gifts..lol..
Judy, saw 2 tools on sale this morning on Canadian Tire e-mail flyer..checking out my budget..lol..could always tell the boys that Mothers' Day is coming..like they want to know that...off I go once again...
http://www.biblesociety.ca/free_scriptures/escriptures/ecclesiastes3/ecclesiastes3.html
I don't usually send out things like this, but it was somehow appropriate for me today.
It is a bit religious, so if you don't like that sort of message, then don't open.
I just happened to like it.
Truth is, it might not link anyway.
Well looks as if you got the music, which is just as beautiful: Pachabel....but the images were wonderful too. So enjoy the music.....that's the best I can do with this link. Sorry
LOL Betty...But you didn't say what the tools are. Well, I hope your boys get them for Mother's day.
I hope package does come today so i show neice.
I will take a photo of the shade tonight, because I haven't a clue what about the lead. Will check to see if I have silcone...most likely I do but that is good to know what to seal with.
Yahoo...excitment is brewing on this idea!
Boston terrier...tiny little pups. I have several neices and nephews and now 2 grandnephews and 1 grandneice! LOL they will call me auntigranti.
Oldest is 10, he is visiting me this weekend.
Well better grab some lunch...LOL thinking about breakfast!
Shar,
crossposted...Thank you!
A lovely message and music.
And I was able to enjoy the photos.
You guys are so funny. In the US we call Betty a type A personality, busy all the time and loving it. I wish I liked to be busy having fun and doing everything all in a single day. I think if I were single it would be that way much more. I am always looking for a minute that isn't accounted for. I need to read my Bible and I don't do it often, I need to find more time to garden in this spring and in fall but can not do all in the time I have.
I am glad that I have Dave's because it is me time that I love and it has to do with any hobbie and interest here and great friendships which I make time for.
I want to see the lighthouse too. What a great thing to make so many things of beauty, you guys are the most talented and artistic people.
morning friends
another busy day ahead helping my youngest DD clean out her garage and its going to be stinking hot!! oh well, autmn will be on the way soon enough.
No package yet betty but patience it a virtue.
feeling average today but its just those *ladies problems* a pain in the tummy and a headache but other than that bright and cheery.
going to have a go at making some bibs and burp cloths for the DD next week.
the teddy bear pattern i have make a bear about 45cm long if that helps betty, i only have the one pattern so if you have any patterns photocopied that would be cool.
cleaned house yesterday and spent the day with the oldest DD and the grandchildren, she had to have a root canal!!! $1500!!! my goodness...
anyway off i go
welcome to the new comer and howdie to the rest
xx
Got my shopping done! Was shocked at the prices. They are really starting to rise. Had on my little pedometer and took 5019 steps from getting in the jeep to getting out and unloading at home. That was kind of fun. Was wondering how much walking I do while shopping. Didn't even do that much walking around the stores.I'll have to wear it at work especially on truck day.
Welcome back Sharran. So good to see(hear) you. No it is read you.
Welcome Doc I have seen you around.
Well the mind has gone blank. It is thinking about supper and other things to do before chatting. Got a call from a friend that lasted a long time this afternoon and there went the day.
Betty she did say if I tell you something you will keep it to yourself! I had told her once that sometimes something can slip out. I feel that people are warned then.
Better go
Shar--
I loved the attachment! In the few minutes it took, I had tears in my eyes.
Don't ever appologize for sending something like this on to people. It is beautiful!
I don't see it as "religious" at all. I see it as Spiritual--something we all should internalize and hold dear. Insight! Thinking outside of out own "boxes". Getting the "emotions" going! We all need to take a time out from the frenzy of our lives and--pause--and experience the more beautiful things we can feel.
Believe me--I am one who does NOT like religious stuff sent to me--but, I think I am a "chameleon" in this sense. Like--DON'T preach to me--- DON'T ask me to pray for this and that--(as I seldom "pray")---but if prayer is all in the mind, and I think about someone and wish him or her the best--than I guess I DO "pray".
I love a certain "depth" to things...like what you just sent. You know that--as we have talked.....
Being psychologically minded--I see this as an extension of what we all "SHOULD" feel and think. There is such a beauty in just the right thing being expressed just the right way--and, accompanied by the right kind of music. Gets me all the time!
Sob......sob...Gita
Well, thanks, Gita.
It touched me pretty deeply too, and though I don't dwell on religion, it...in some form or another, is a part of each of us. Spirituality is the best word, you are right on that count.
Ves, thanks, it is really good to be back, too. Thought I had lost myself there for awhile.
It is getting so nice out, I think I am going to start walking again. We have a great walking trail through a park not a block from my home, so it is always a treat to go there. I do have this stationery bike here at home and used it all winter, but there is nothing like walking outside, and since it is now staying light longer I can walk about any time. I am not a jogger, but do like to stroll along.
Sorry about your snow, Betty.....I am sure there is more cold to come here, but at least there are sure signs of spring!
Dry your tears, Gita, and put a smile on your face....it's Friday, what do you have planned for the weekend??
Did you get your yard done, GG? I can't wait to see pictures.
Well--I think I would put a frown on some faces--as just yesterday, I had my vein surgery.
Today--I was out in my yard for the first time cleaning up. Pruned all my Roses, and my Hellebores and raked a lot of leaves out of half of my beds. Bagged them and will put them out for trash.
Met my new neighbor-to-be (the next-door house finally sold). We chatted....He is from Pakistan--has 4 grown daughters--said he needed to expand the driveway (it is now a 2-car driveway) as he has SEVEN cars!!!!!! His favorite is his Mercades.......Hmmmmmm?????
Must be a big-shot business man! We will see....we will see......
Shar--I have nothing planned for the weekend. If the weather stays as nice as it is now, I will be doing a lot more yard clean-up. Also need to fertilize my lawn and seed the big circle left from when i cut down my dying Spruce Tree. It is about 12' in diameter.
I already have the seed bought! Just have to rake up that area and put some garden soil on top of it, as what is there now, is too much of the chips from having the stump all ground up. Also being it was an evergreen, the "soil" under it is probably way too acidic. I already put down some Lime and, hopefully, all the rains we have had--have washed it into the soil.
I won't be doing the Crab Grass prevention treatment--as if I do--I cannot seed my lawn for the rest of the year. A seed is a seed.....
AND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ta-Dahhhhhhh!!!! Today, I got some wonderful gifts from my SP!!!!!! I kind of know where they were sent from, but i will not say anything......
Thank you so much!!! I love doilies of all kinds! I will NEVER cut them up, or anything, to do my sachets!!!!!! NO! NO! Never! You crazy??????
Here is a picture of all my goodies.....Dancing with the Stars here.....:o))
Thanks--My SP!!!! Gita
Gita, those are lovely! Somebody really likes you, lots :)
