Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Pt.33 Visit with Friends

Victoria Harbour, ON

Carol, love 'two weeks notice'... never think of going to the library for movies..but then Roger's Cable I have all the movie channels so always lots to watch or rather listen to...lol

Got 4 calls from girlfriends, asked out for tonight and tomorrow night and a couple are dropping in..so I'll not go out tonight but tomorrow night at Dianne's I'll enjoy a lovely supper...

Then Suzanne asked if next Sunday which is my birthday if she and Marguerite (Roger's other sister) could take me to Meaford for the day..so now I'll see what's planned by the boys..maybe we'll do something Sat. and then I can enjoy my Sunday as well...aren't birthdays so exciting...

I got my towel swap gift this morning and a lovely heart felt card in it from Marie Ortez..I think she may have been lurking in my kitchen..see how they match..

Judy, bet you are spoiling that little one and enjoying the company of all..

Got some parcels off this morning but lordy there's some good news bad news in my outing..

Went to send out the 'easter egg' swap..well they wanted $32.00 to ship..the birdfeeder (metal) was heavy as were the easter eggs, that was the bad news...good news, guess I get to keep the feeder and eggs and go shopping for another lighter gift...would have been silly to spend that much on shipping, so it's another pretty gift for 'betty'..lol...

Won't be using the towels, it just happens that I have a towel holder in my little cafe and they look beautiful displayed as does the pot holders on the table...

Newcastle, ON(Zone 5a)

Your towels are perfect hanging there..they do match beautifully in your little french country cafe.

Wow..about the $32.00 postage! That would be a terrible waste of money. Isn't it awful what they charge for even little packages...you must spend a fortune on all the packages you send out.
So now you have a charming gift for your garden.

I am waiting for the sheets to dry to make up the guestroom for my friend. I am quite excited about her visit.
It has been 3 and a half years since she was here last.
This is Cathleen the entrance courtyard of a restaurant we went to in Cobourg. They have an outdoor garden part in the summer..this was in 2004. Isn't this so colourful. Can't wait for summer to go back there some time.

Morning! almost Afternoon!

The review went as expected. About the same as the last one. It is based on how inventory went. Got a raise and then they cut all our hours to make up for it. Does the company know how to make money or what! But it is a job. Basically part-time which is what I want and not too far from home.

Betty those towels are just perfect. Also reminded me of your quilt. Have a good weekend filled with good news.

Jeannine I fell in love with at least half of those quilts. What talented people. Loved the cat ones!

Starzz love those words also.Have a wonderful visited with your friend.

Laura I will keep an eye out for mermaid stuff. But of course most of what is out there is the Little mermaid stuff.

will not try to catch up with the rest. Again it was one of your chatty days and so much fun to read. But Hi to everyone.

Hope you have the day you need.

DH made waffles for breakfast. I was out in the sunshine with Ty playing and getting a few things done. That sun feels so good. We are having a warm up so that means more snow on monday! Oh well as long as it isn't much!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Dianne and June dropped in for a visit..of course I was bragging about my birthday bash..lol..they thought it was spectacular...

Feel the temps drop..guess I should go up and turn the heat on...

A friend from Baxter Seniors that I use to take on trips to New Orleans, Bahama's, Florida every year - group of about 16..died yesterday so June thought I would want to know...lovely lady, talk about tragedies in her life..almost unbearable, but, she was an inspiration, always cheerful..

Carol, you'll not get any sleep for a few days, you'll be chatting till all hours of the day and night..we wan't photo's...

Vicki, less hours wouldn't that be more enjoyable for you..that is unless they want you working twice as hard..know companies have to have some financial cut-backs but it shouldn't be the employees..they are today what employees have made them! Should be showing more appreciation...Lucky you, getting breakfast made..I forgot breakfast, shared one of my birthday cupcakes you send with the girls..just before Diane got here I took out the rest of Kentucky Fried Chicken but quickly put it back so guess I'll go up and treat myself to leftovers...

Jim Falls, WI(Zone 4a)

Ahh Betty the twice as hard is the key! We are on the go all the time as it is.

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Carol, how fun! I love to have old friends visit.
Last night I couldn't sleep so about 2 a.m. I sent a note to the son of an old friend in Louisville (son is almost my age) to tell him to tell his mother Happy Birthday from me. She has been in a health care facility for several years and has Alzheimers. She was close to my mother's age. Anyway, today is her birthday. I was shocked when I opened my e mail this morning to find a note from him telling me that she had died in her sleep just this morning about the same time I wrote the note to him. So coffee and tears started my day. I saw her just before she was placed in the nursing home a few years ago, and she didn't know me but she knew I was connected to the school where we taught, so we had a nice confusing conversation about school. That was even sadder than knowing this morning that she had passed away.

GG...again thanks for the quilt show....yes they are all still roaming around in my mind, and my sewing machine is out of its corner.

Betty, your cafe is lovely, and perfect with the new kitchen towels.

Carol, that is a lovely entrance to the restaurant.....We have an Oasis here too, but it sure doesn't look like that.

Hello to all of you...have a really good day!
Will check in again later.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh Shar, I'm so sorry to hear about your dear friend..I truly believe sometimes one can sense something is wrong...wipe the tears and think of all the good times you had together..tell us please something that you most remember..might bring a smile (although I'm sure that's the last thing you wish to do tonight)...

Finished butterflies...
Going to bath, got my new garden book in the mail today so I've my evening planned..

It's Noah's 10th birthday..Mel and Greg put a photo in the paper wishing him a happy birthday..Greg brought it over last night for me to see..so, must get up early and visit e-b games...

morning all,

shar sorry to hear about your friend. I think perhaps she may have known you were thinking of her being that you were thinking of her at that very moment. Love has its own way of travelling through time.

betty the towels are lovely! gosh your house is gorgeous!

starzz thats a lovely place.... would love for us all to be there and have coffee!!

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

Oh betty!!!

the burtterfly is just gorgeous!! the colours!!!!

oh its lovely.. you so talented!!

I want to fly over and take classes!! lol

just gorgeous!!

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

I love that restaurant courtyard too. I love that, it looks like Mexico, they use vibrant colors too.

Betty I love Marie Ortiz and she is a fly on a wall in your kitchen, it is a little know secret that she can morph into a fly. Cute kitchen too. I love cottage anything. Have you seen or bought the Cottage and Bungalow Magazine? I have almost every issue. It is the same people who do Romantic Homes Mag.

My home isn't as cottagy as it once was because Greg had to put his manly spin into the mix. It is part of my master plan though to let him see me compromise and I will later figure out a way to do it. I am always thinking of a way but right now I want to focus on the outside because it is so challenging here and the windows to do it are small. I can work on the inside here and there and I want a complete facade change and rework the floor plan so I don't want to waste time and resources to much on something that may be knocked down.

Betty I met Marie in Phoenix.

Ves that Co. sounds like the one I got laid off from. They always bite their nose to spite their faces.

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

Love that stained glass too.

I am so sorry Shar. That is a God thing for sure, maybe just so you know how to pray for them and when they need it most.

The same thing happened to me last year. I had a patient, he was an old black man that I loved, he told me to pray for him that he had cancer. I had not seen him in ages either and he booked a massage just to tell me this.

I told him I was glad he came in because I had missed him and I was about to get laid off any time.

I got laid off and one day I was going through my old patient schedule that had their home numbers on it, about a couple months after I got laid off and saw his name and something told me to not procrastinate calling him and to do it then.

I had no idea when his wife answered that she was going to say he died the night before I called, just a few hours before I called. I told her I was sorry and that he was a very nice man and I would be praying for her and the family.

That is the only reason I could come up for why that happened. No coincidence either Shar. God wanted you to do it. I am so sorry for your shock and sadness. Hugs to you.

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Laura and Betty...sweet words and thank you.

And Betty, omg, those butterflies...how beautiful. I want to be there too....NOW!!

OK here is a funny about Lee, my friend who just died today. She was my mother's age, but we were fast friends when I was teaching in Louisville. She loved to shop, and we hit every craft show and every new fashion shop all over Louisville in the 60's and early 70's. I was single and her only son was grown and gone, so we spent a lot of time together. Her husband was a sports nut, and she wasn't.. she and I ended up on a lot of shopping trips. We were very close to the same size, and had similar coloring. Whatever looked OK on either of us, would be perfect for the other one. Easy to shop for gifts for each other that way. One time we had shopped all day long, because she and I were going to Florida for spring break. It was the end of the day and we found a fabulous boutique, and had tried on several outfits for our trip. Both of us tiring....she sat down just outside the dressing room with a ton of clothes in her arms, with attendants all around us, she said to me: "Sharon, go try these on then come out and let me see how I look in them". Without a blink, I took them and started for the dressing room. One of the attendants said....."How can she try on clothes for you", and Lee said with a perfectly straight face: "We were each other in another lifetime".

And that was the way it was.....we were each other in another lifetime.
She was a dear friend. Even a few years ago when I saw her for the last time and she couldn't remember my name, she said, "Oh before you go, I have some clothes that you should try on so you will know how they look on me." She was serious, and now I know that memory still lingered in her mind somewhere, even though my name did not. It is enough that I have those memories, because her son has continued to tell me of her deterioration. She knew no one for the last couple of years, and did not talk either. But she and I both knew that those fun memories were still there. I can feel her giggling with me even now.....

that is my Lee story for this her birth and death day....weird how that happens, and that I sort of knew it. I had not heard from her son, Gregg since Christmas, but I always checked on her on her birthday.

I am sad but not upset. It just hurts to lose a good friend, even when it is expected. So don't worry....I really am OK.

Working on a little book of seeds for Ethan to plant when he gets here next week, if SON doesn't have to be in NY and Baltimore again, which is where he is this weekend. We will winter sow, then plant them in pots outside in April. It is better for Ethan to do container gardening, otherwise we lose the seeds that he scatters. He is a real SEEDTOSSER! This weekend book project will be the subject for another DG article in a couple of weeks, so I have a double effort going on.

There is another fun article coming up on Wednesday, I think. It is about my adventures with my Great Aunt Bett and growing up in the mountains. I will try to remember to remind you.

Anyway.....all is well, and I hope you are all having a good weekend.

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Thank you, Dawn...we cross posted....and we said much the same thing.

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

Funny, I love that story. A few friends cross our path that we love so much like they were a close family member. I also had a friend that died almost 3 years ago that was like Lee. She was my Mom's age and her dd got murdered and that dd was my age. She hurt so,that she lost her dd, she promised me that one day she would go to talk to my Mom that disowned me and tell her how short life is and how sad this is.

A few years later, she went with my dd to her house and did just that. I loved her so much. It didn't make any difference to my mom but it made a difference for me and my dd, Alysha, who thinks of Phyllis as her grandma. My biological father fell in love with her too. He kept it to himself because she was married to an old man. (he is still alive).

This is your day and your sadness and it is a sorrow that I know is bittersweet today. She isn't suffering the loss of her mind anymore and you still have yours to remember that GREAT STORY AND HER REACTION TO YOU YEARS LATER

Until my memory goes completely(and it is going fast), I will remember this story you told today. It touched me Shar. I am so sorry.

(Cathy), MO

Sending hugs Sharon

Victoria Harbour, ON

What a truly lovely story of friendship Shar...thanks for sharring..

Dawn, my heart goes out to you, you seem to have wanted a relationship so very much with your mom..sad that it was not to be..but now you have a chance to put all that love and energy into that grandchild that is on it's way..what fun that will be..you'll be a terrific grandma!
How wonderful you met Marie..she must be a treasure...

I can hardly keep my eyes open, falling asleep while reading a gardening book so I'm calling it a night..

Michelle just called and asked if she could come over tomorrow to work on a lamp shade..she has church from 10 to noon, so it can only be for a few hours as I'll be celebrating Noah's birthday tomorrow aft.

Had made plans to go to Dianne's but now I must call her in the morning to cancel because I had forgotten that we were going out for supper..she'll think me a terrible friend..keeps asking me over and something always comes up...

Best of the Day...visiting friends where I had the opportunity to brag about you all!

Worse of the Day...Mathew was having a shunt put in today, still critical...so I continue to hope for a 'miracle' am sure they are around just for the asking..

What did I learn...forgot that Friday is the deadline for tags for Sailor so June offered to pick it up for me saving double the money...got home too late Friday..nice to have friends and also learnt that I must consider the weight and size of things I buy for trades...lol..

Night All

Shar you have a good night sleep

All others, hope you are enjoying your day..

Know Judy is, she's still playing 'Auntie'

Richmond, VA(Zone 7a)

((((HUGS)))) to you Sharon.....

I'm sorry for your loss

Betty, I'm sending prayers up to Matthew.....

BEST JUST GOT BACK FROM CHURCH AND IT WAS GOOD AND THEY HAD COMMUNION, WHICH I MISSED THE LAST TIME. other good thing was that they cancelled a party I would have had to drive an hour in the rain to go to so I had a kick back day and was doing homework and on Daves all day.

No bad today, Thank God.

slow night.

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

Ok I am asking for oppinions.

I painted my house a wild bright color called cinnimon cherry with silvery grey trim. I just got those free blocks and put a raised planter in front of the house in an area that faces north and gets a lot of afternoon sun where the planter is. I am thinking Floribunda roses in the back toward the house, in maybe white and pale pinks to tone down the house and make it cottagy. With midsized plants like dusty miller, grasses, glads, ornamental garlic, Allium etc. with low growing stuff in front and some stuff billowing over the sides.(heat tollerant plants).
I love crystal palace lobelia but it will fry there.

or
a white framed lattice wall, like maybe 31/2 to 4' tall toward the house in the planter with a rambler or sport climber spilling over the other side, with yellow and lavender and blues to play off the color a bit. What do you all think. I am going to post this on a couple of my home threads and soak in a lot of oppinion.(I like cottage or naturalized style. I have to do a lot of xeriscape plants and mediterreanian plants that the rabbits leave alone, so formal is out.

I need color because most of the stuff I have in front is evergreen with insignificant flowers except the 2 crepe myrtles. I have silver plants there too and grasses. The rose of Sharon and this other shrub(forget the name off hand that flowers, both don't) I will relocate them or make better soil drainage where they are, but that is why I need color in the raised bed and why I painted the house so bright.

Please feel free to give suggestions for this front bed.

Thumbnail by hellnzn11
Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Yellow, lavender and blue, Dawn....less formal that way, with that beautiful red and in front of those lovely windows. But then, I am a color person....so I would always choose the stronger colors.

wonderful house and fl bed...nice doggy too.

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

Thanks Shar. I like that too. I lean toward that but I was not sure if it would be too much.

Those are the blocks that I just got last Monday for free from a local block manufacturer. I about killed myself trying to get them out of my truck but I love it and it is dry stacked and free. Only cost my bad back, which I haven't stood right since. It was worth it though.

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Lucky you!!! A great freebie!

Hello to All - I will admit that I had to skip over pretty many posts here. I will come back later and look at more pictures and read the posts that I missed. I just wanted to thank Jeannine for taking and sharing the quilts. They are beyond amazing!!! I would be hard pressed to choose a favorite. How much fun it must have been to go with your mom to enjoy these.

Also Jeannine, I just watched the Dr. Rausch video that you posted the link for. What great words of inspiration. He certainly is making good use of his last days. This lecture series has to be setting a lot of people free emotionally.

Here is hoping that everyone has an enjoyable day today and a good week coming up.

Love the house Dawn, can't help you out as I love pastels, hard for me to go bright..looked at my colorwheel and see that Shar is very knowledgeable..she's put you on the right track...look at that dog, bet he's thinking like 'Murphy' (Jeannine's dog) now where will I be able to dig????lol Great find with the blocks...will look pretty especially with some trailers included....do you have to order fill for it or do you have enough somewhere on your property to do the job?

Ruby, what are you up to today? bet most of you who can get out to do some gardening will, we less fortunate look at where our gardens are hidden and dream of the beauty beneath...how did your cupboards go..pretty I'll bet..

Well it's Noah's 10th birthday today..have a gold bracelet for him and $50.00 in envelop..decided not to go to e-b games because he received so many at Christmas that maybe he'd like to spend his $$$ on something else, and rest assured it will be gone by tonight or tomorrow..he's a spender (wonder who he got that from) lol..now Kyle, if you gave him $1. last year he'd likely have it in his account...he has to think and plan before he spends anything...

Must tidy up my craft room as Michelle will be coming over around lunch, Darlene dropping in this morning and I might just get organized to start a new project..we'll see..must do 1 hr. cleaning though, I can't play unless I takle something that way I can keep up with things...

As the computer is at the entrance of the craft room, I'll drop in from time to time..

Looking forward to your sharing this wonderful day!

Morning all,
Sharon..what a wonderful memorie you have of your friend. First I got tears in my eyes..and then I laughed out loud at the story of trying on clothes. You honour her by sharing your thoughts of happy times with her.

Last evening a friend called and said come over for a game of Scrabble and popcorn..and her 93 ex-MIL Gladys was joining us too. This lady still drives ..has a bright mind but her body is giving her pain..back and hip. I marvel at her. This is Gladys last summer when we went to the daylily Open House at Hayfield Dayliles.

My friend from B.C. called and left a message last night ..she said she had been to the top of the CN Tower after the conference. I'll have to show her our thread. I will pick her up at 1:15pm today.

Dawn..I'm with Sharon on the blues and lavenders and yellows. What fun to start with a new bed to plant.

Waving to everyone ..have a great day..the sun is shining here.

Ruby..we cross posted...

Thank for showing us the newly painted cupboards..looking good..
One day I hope to be ambitious enough to do mine.

I like your garden window..what are the blue bits around the frame?..just curious..

Cheers,
Carol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Love the color you picked for your cupboards, doesn't it make you feel like you've just done a total renovation just by painting and now you'll get to do some co-ordinating..painting always leads to that..big job though..you did have someone help? that's always a plus..love the window with all the plants..must tell you my herbs did not survive..SOMEONE forgot to water..but, I watered them last night, maybe they'll stand up and dance..was thinking that tomorrow I'm going to play at work with a task list which will guide me through my daily and weekly tasks that I seem to forget..i.e. watering plants..thank goodness the animals can bark, meow or they'd be in trouble...

Carol how much fun was that, having friends over for cards last night and you still have your girlfriend coming, isn't it today you pick her up? You'll have loads of photo's and stories to tell us..

Now that you mentioned your friend of 93 being so spry, must tell you a story...the greatest love in my life was my 'grandmother' I adored her, she passed away about 7 years ago at the age of 99..she was french and spoke broken english, had such a sense of humor and loved by all..I don't think I ever heard her say something bad about anyone..or complain isn't that odd..I lived with her from 6months old till I got married...hmmm what a memory, now I'm getting off track...lol as always...

My grandfather passed away in 1981 and when my grandmother was about 90 I would say she and a gentleman became good friends and dated and he often stayed over, not to worry - she couldn't get pregant..lol..
He was quite nice and it was great that she had a friend to do things with..he'd take her shopping, they'd go play cards..wonderful..

Anyway this one morning my Aunt Irene and Aunt Natalie came over to arrange the setting for 'mass'..local priest would come into homes of the aged and do mass..you had to have an alter set up, candles and white table cloth..now imagine this, the priest is there doing his mass, my aunts are there and grandma, all very intent..communion comes, and they get up to go to the alter and he gives communion to Aunt Irene, then communion to Aunt Natalie and then it's grandma's turn, he goes to give it to her and she says 'I'm sorry Father, I can't have communion this morning, I slept with a man last night".....lol/lol are you laughing Dawn...

She was such a card, I could tell you story after story...not a day goes by that she's not in my thoughts and heart..dear old soul..

Victoria Harbour, ON

Did something I rarely do, now my tummy is upset..
Noah/Kyle and Melanie dropped in on their way to the city, going for lunch, going to Ikia and Toys are us...

When the boys went outside Melanie said it broke her heart, on the way to my house she and the boys were talking, Noah said he really wished that his dad would go with them, Melanie said 'well Noah, he had plans today to go snowmobiling, there won't be many more days and Uncle Mike and Dougie are all going out!' so Melanie said, "when you boys have children, remember how important it is to them" and Noah said, "I'll never forget that when it's their birthday it's a very special day' nothing will come before that, especially when the turn '10'..so, they left and I called Greg, told him my heart was aching, that this child only wanted his dad with him on this his special day..could snowmobile make such memories..anyway, Kyle forgot something and he just came back in to say their dad had called and he was going to the city with them...hope he's in a good humor and not just going with a bad attitude...good smack on the behind is what he needs..I know he works long/long hours, little time forhimself, but today IS NOT the day..am sure I'll hear about it..

Melanie said Jeff was coming up on Friday night and they were taking me out for my 'birthday' supper..maybe I'll get a bag with coal because I've stuck my nose where it doesn't belong...
KIDS..he's a great father, those kids want for nothing but sometimes it's 'time' that's important..so slap my fingers for dialing his number..it's a MOM thing!

Jim Falls, WI(Zone 4a)

Good Mom! He needed to hear what his son had to say! Special days should be special! More parents need to hear that message!

Sharron so sorry about your friend. But what wonderful memories you have. Enjoyed the stories!

Ruby the cabinets look wonderful. Can hardly wait to hear if you make other changes to the room!

Hellnzn your house is so pretty. Go with the bright colors. Love all the windows and your dog is a nice touch also. LOL

Okay stopped and got my mail on the way to work. Got to work and sat in the jeep and opened the pkg. Return address used Ty's name. LOL Wonder what the postman thought of that? LOL again! Anyway I open it and there's a hand written card. A butterfly stake for the garden or pot. A mr. and mrs ledge sitter frogs. A cute frog hanger on a flower , a snowman gift bag, and a homemade snowman that she said reminded her of me. Always working. They are all so cute and the mind is a whirling where I am going to put them. what fun! Thank you! Hugs!

That was the best for yesterday.

Worst was having to go to work on such a beautiful day!

What did I learn well it isn't new but good things come in the mailbox!

Hope you all have the day you need!

Isn't it just fun..all these packages from 'secret pals' love it...just as exciting to watch all of you receive your gifts...and soon, we'll have a new 'secret pal'

Okay, have been having a fairly productive morning. Cleaned back yard of doggie poo and planted three primrose. Doing the bed linens now. Am also slowly working on spare room. Boxing and bagging stuff that can be donated. Don't really have a lot to go from that room is seems. Most is stuff that I want to keep, but I am finding new homes for some of the things.

Starzz, the blue things around my kitchen windows are odd shaped ceramic tiles. I had the idea to do the whole wall behind stove and kitchen sink in a mosaic pattern, but those few around the window is as far as I ever got. Oh yeah,. the tiles above the stove that sort of frame a picture of fruit.

Just took picture of the fruit. Will post it later on.

Oh you guys all brighten my days, to see your families and hear about your lives It feels like we are a long distance family. We really do try to know eachother on this thread. Which is what I love about it. I am not much for superficial relationships at all.

Betty it is so funny that you see me with the bright colors. I love sage green and lavender and periwinkle blue. They are my favorite colors. I always had a mix of antiques and cabage rose wall papers, lots of florals, a victorian and cottage theme with no care or help from my x.

Greg on the other hand has a lot of input which we used to fight about all the time. He hates florals and pastels for the most part and none of his things matched my stuff but like one or two things and they are out now.

So what are you going to do? Compromise. So after almost 8 years of marriage I found other colors that I liked, that he liked. We never could agree so finally the house color after 40 hours at the paint department and 4 /34 yrs of a crappy color on the house, we compromised. I can make it work. I would have like it a shade lighter or two but the color is good for us.

Inside is mostly all greens of various shades. Nothing is pastel but one bath that I had to do in periwinkle blue and cottage pictures all over it in your face when you sit on the toilett.

I have one room that is shabby chic white shelves and mixed up patterns quilts in pastels but I hate the green on the walls and will paint it some pastel as it is my room.

In the master plan, I will have to figure a way to bring my world into play more but the Man does have to live here and has strong oppinions on the matter. Unfortunately.

Thank God he doesn't love contemporary!!! We would have been divorced already. All his cars and motorcycle models and planes are in HIS ROOM. (ONE WASTED ROOM) BUT A GOOD COMPROMISE.

I will work on the outside for a diversion. Who knows if we will stay here.

Evening all, now look at the proud Great Aunt and the most adorable baby...you'll be fighting to keep him Judy..so cute..

Dawn, love the color of the house on every one elses, just can't have bright colors..when I did the basement last year I picked a bright color and before the weekend was over I had repainted it pastel.. glad you have some of your shabby chic...

Ruby, sounds as though you are getting organized..fix one thing and 10 more need to be done to make the project complete..

Had most of the day teaching Stained Glass to Michelle (she's the one that lost her hubby a month ago) needed something to fill in her day..had supper plans with Diane so although I was enjoying Michelle's visit, we worked as hard as can be and right to the wire so I could leave by 5:30 and Michelle left with finished project..she was just so excited...

She kept saying that she'd have to find a lamp for it to fit, that she'd go home and take the shade off another lamp so she could use it, at the last minute I took out the lamp I bought for her with maroon around the base..she started to cry...wanted to give me money for all the materials but I told her when I was most in need, people were coming out of the woodwork lol to help out and now it's my turn to give back...did get a kiss and a hug though!

Her finished project..

Best...seeing the excitement Michelle was having doing something for herself
Worse...having to talk to that son of mine..sometimes although you love them to bits, you don't like them!
What did I learn..better go back to minding my own business..not good to put your 2 cents in...
