Mom called me one last time last night - at about 12:45am (my time) to say that she thinks maybe the laptop screen went black because the battery ran down. (Not that perhaps, i'd suggested this possibility earlier...)
When she plugged it in, words appeared saying that the battery was depleted and needed to be recharged.

i attempted to bang my head against the wall quietly, so as not to wake the neighbors.

Janis, I'm so sorry about your mom. About the only thing I can say is sometimes people are too toxic to have in our lives and it's just best to NOT have them in our lives. Your mom isn't just toxic, but messing with danger on top of that. ;(((

Tammy, I shut down the computer right after I posted I was off to bed. Imagine that! I was in bed before Mau!! LOL

Updates going on about the shooting all morning long. 6 confirmed dead at the scene, a man died at a hospital he was transferred to in Rockford. I can't remember how many have been released or the number still in the hospital there in DeKalb. This is just so unreal.

Amy, if your mom has a laptop, where is she getting her wireless signal from? Or is she hooked up to a modem with her laptop? She should of gotten a CD to install that would of just instantly hooked her up. I know with Comcast, you just plug in your computer and you're on. Besides any of that, there are tech people she should call and let them help her.

Good morning, everyone! Well, now it is afternoon. My BFF called me and I talked to her for 30 minutes which now makes it afternoon, so "Good afternoon, everyone!".

It's hard to catch up when you have to keep switching back and forth between the old thread and the new thread to see what you have missed. I'm going to forget it and start from here. LOL except those of you who haven't read the HHA creed do need to go back and read it. It is hilarious but, hey, if the shoe fits. . . LOL

Oh, Celia, since you asked about Pau, here is an update---his back has been feeling better the last few days but he hasn't done any lifting, pushing or pulling of anything, etc. If he doesn't do anything that involves physical labor, his back seems to do okay. That doesn't make for a very exciting life, though, and he gets bored just sitting around. We have some errands to run this afternoon so we may just walk through Home Depot to get a short "fix" to keep us going until warmer weather. I do need to get some 4" pots to re-pot my little peat pots. I may just buy some styrofoam cups--they would be a lot cheaper. Anybody ever tried those for potting your seedlings?

Also, Janis, I just wanted to say that I sincerely hope your mother does not marry that guy! Please keep us informed about that situation.

Pepper, I meant to ask you if you have ever heard of Pat Parelli--the horse trainer?
He and his wife are coming to Little Rock in March. I am taking my DGD and one of her friends to the session on March 1st. I was able to get free tickets because the Parelli website sent me a code I could enter when I ordered tickets and I would get them free. ;o)) My granddaughter and her friend are thrilled--they both love horses and love to ride. Hopefully, they will pick up a lot of good tips from Parelli.

Cute cartoon, Amy. Reminds me of my MIL--only she has problems with her cell phone. No matter how many times I have tried to show her how to use the different features, all she can do is answer it or call someone. She doesn't even try to listen to her messages--refuses to learn how. Nobody who knows her leaves her messages, though, because they know she can't retrieve them. It's a lost cause but at least she can use the cell phone to call friends who live out-of-town and it doesn't cost her anything. She is on our cell phone plan and she actually uses more minutes than either Pau or I do. It's a good thing we have roll-over minutes because she always goes over her minutes but the roll-over minutes take up the slack.

Now you "gurls" who join the BDWC remember that I have my flyswatter handy!!

I honestly don't know :(( I really need to sit down and talk to my sister, and try to figure out how to talk to mom, without causing a war, but my sis has so much going on with her hubby ( and some really stupid drama from his sister) that she just can't handle anything else. I'm thinking about calling my mom's youngest brother, and having him talk to her. It'll cause a serious rift between mom and I though, as her brother is a Capt in a local police dept, and he knows nothing about her and this guy. She will be furious with me for involving him, but I don't see many other options right now. Sigh...

I think it's the "boyfriend" that needs the flyswatter.

Hi all. Just got back from Wallyworld. Spent some money, but just for food! They don't have anything new in yet in the greenhouse.
Well...I am trying to get what Dave has...the cough...tickley throat, tight head. I started right in on the meds though. So maybe I can knock it out before it gets bad.

I have heard of Parelli and like what I have seen and read so far. It would be neat to see him in person. :~)

Last I heard my cuz was doing better. Out of ICU but still had a temp. So far he is to be released on Monday if everything goes ok.

Ghost Whisperer was a rerun, plus it's on at 7pm and Monk is on at 8pm. No conflict there. Monk is always on when the other shows take a hiatus. So he's on in the summer and he's on over Christmas, when everything else is a repeat.

And I hate 2 parters!!! Mau!!!

What is Ghost Whisperer? I've heard of horse whisperers, dog whisperers, etc., but never Ghost Whisperer--not sure I want to watch that one--LOL!!

Mau, Ghost Whisperer is on CBS, and if you watch it once, I bet you will watch it again! :) It stars Jennifer Love Hewitt, she is the 'Ghost Whisperer', and is awesome. I rarely watch this show without being a bit teary-eyed in the end! :)
