South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Yank, A sad love story, you know the kind. Box of tissues, some ice cream and or chocolates and your good to go.
Sharran, which is it? Chocolates or ice Cream?? LOL

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Is Wuthering Heights anything like Vertigo??

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

No Victor, chocolates would come back up for sure with Vertigo.

WH is a tear jerker.......an entire box of chocolates and box of tissues, too.

Is it still snowing up there? son is in Baltimore. I wonder if he is buried in...haven't heard from him.

Medway, MA(Zone 5b)

It's still snowing here in Taxachusetts!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

No - stopped here a few hours ago. I was outside a while ago - looks like 8-10 inches.

Yonkers, NY(Zone 5b)

We got 8" in Yonkers.
The birdies were VERY busy at the feeders!
This pic was taken before I went out and cleared the snow off the platform feeder.
I have to shovel a path so I can go out with my garden clogs & not have to put on boots.

Great shot, Nancy! What a contrast to the same area in summer with all the lush growth!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Very nice, Nancy. Like the platform and tube combo.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

I just got this from a friend, thought it might be interesting... ☺

New York & Terrell, TX(Zone 8b)

WaterCan2,

I can read it just fine!!! I guess it's just 'cause I have Dyslexia, and it looks perfectly fine to me.

Although, my keyboard looks qwerty!!!

AH ha hah!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, I've seen that before. I can read it with no problem at all - actually even faster than normal.

Yonkers, NY(Zone 5b)

Hmmmmm.... was there something wrong with it?
I could read it with no problem.
LOL!

Nancy

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Same with me.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Wow, WC - how interesting......no problem reading it at normal reading speed for me. Has anyone had trouble reading it? It sounds like most of us are in that 55% for whatever that means about us!! LOL

Candyce - our dog when I was a child was the most wonderful Shetland Sheep dog in the world. Her name was Lady, and I have a lovely photo of her and my Dad on my wall here, because it was in this neighborhood that she cavorted. She was incredibly smart. My Dad trained her to go around to our bedrooms (mine and my 2 sisters') to wake us up each morning for school, so he wouldn't have to do it. She lived to be quite old. My Dad adored her so much. He didn't live long after she was killed crossing McGregor Blvd. She never left our yard until that one sad day.

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Such a touching story about Lady and your Dad, DB....

And yep, I could speed read it too, strange.

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

i remember reading about a study done on this - word recognition - but i thought it was most or all people could do it - sort of a remarkable view of how our brains process information....

fnny

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

i think it is supposed to be that as long as all the letters are there, and the 1st and last are correct, it doesn't matter much what sequence the rest are in.

i have to stop being here and prepare myself so i am ready to go focus lights in less than 2 hours. i am really nervous. wish me luck. (i've never called a focus to a crew alone before. i have to look confident. i feel ill.)

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

I wish you luck!

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Good luck Amy! May the Force... uhmmm... 'Focus' be with you!! ☺

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

You can do it, Amy!!! Best of luck! Do you say "Break a leg" to a Focus'er to have good stuff happen???? Let us know how it goes.......!!

Greensboro, AL

Hey! Ive been unwatched! I didnt do it!

Sof: That mousey was taking vitamins!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Sharon - that was sweet to say.......Those were great days around here when my Dad and Lady were still here! There are so many wonderful dogs around here now that we can barely get our walking in for stopping to pet and chat!! LOL

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Watercan, I read it perfectly. I think they said if the first and last letter are correct and the word has the correct amount of letters yur brain just fills in the rest.

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

i think i'm getting a cold.
blah.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Try taking Zicam works great for me.

Greensboro, AL

Green tea and grape seed extract work for me. So far.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Gargle with peroxide! A vitamin C powder made by Alacer - Emergen-C is fantastic. It actually makes you feel better in about 1/2 hour. Lasts for hours. I read something about Zicam that was not good but don't remember what it was.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

It does taste nasty.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

It was something about affecting the sense of smell.

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

my throat and chest are just gunky. or it could be nerves. or both.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Having a cold effects your sense of smell too.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

No - I mean permanently. Here:
