OMG....too funny! Made me think of how many I have said myself!!!
Robin, thank you! It's a classic!
that is really funny - do you know who she is?
here's a cartoon from the New Yorker i put on a different forum.
See. we gave my mother a laptop - her 1st computer - for Xmas. She is FINALLY trying to set up the DSL, and she calls me at 11:30 last night totally frantic and upset and wanting me to solve everything from here. (She won't believe anything i tell her, anyhow...)
That's cute. But there are plenty of technophobes who are still young!
Just read that the first order for a cloned dog has been placed. A California woman is paying the S. Korean co. $150,000 to clone her pitbull, who has died since the tissue sample was taken. Getting weird and scary already! Will Apple have iClone? A better human cloning company name might be Me2.
Can the dog cook? ☺
Robin, I love that clip!
Nancy, very nice city garden!
I dislike slugs more. Partially because no one ever called me a grub.
OK, I think I caught up.
Wow - I'm pretty far behind here, so I'll have to make this short! Nancy - what a cool slideshow and a beautiful garden!!
Deb - congrats on your new addition. I like the name.....Bella Marie...sweet! I also like Boxers......I hope she does well while you are away!! Our neighbors across the street here just rescued a new adoption dog. She is a sweetheart too......looks like part Golden, part English Spaniel (spots) and part yellow lab. We have had only wonderful luck with our rescued dogs.
Nancy, I think I could get lost in that garden. Beautiful!!
I think she might!
ROFL!
I just have to tie a string between the door handle and the bench to get back & forth.
Nancy
Or drop seeds behind you!
Nah. I learned from Hansel & Gretel & their bread crumbs.
The birds will eat 'em.
Nancy
Otherwise you'd be: Lost in Yonkers
~~~~ groan ~~~~
There's sunshine outside today!!!!!
You have NO IDEA how great that makes me feel!
Nancy:
You have the most gorgeous slideshow that I have ever enjoyed viewing!!
I like the time-lapse feature. I am really looking forward to Al's year long one!
It may be sunny outside - but my clothes are frozen on the clothesline!
That was so much fun to watch! Thanks, Victor!
That was fun!
very cute - wonder where it was?
gabagoo,
I think your potted garden is incredible!! Let me know if you need some tomato seeds for small pots. I have seeds for the Carrot "Tonda di Parigi". The round, 19th-century Parisian heirloom carrots are harvested at 1"-2", uniform and deep orange. The flavor is excellent and very sweet. 60 days.
Victor,
That dog reminds me of my old Cardigan Corgi; the first time he saw the snow, he just blasted right through it. That was 18 years ago; he's gone now, too much trouble with his bones & the dwarfism. But his memories last on in my mind.
Glad it brought back nice memories, Robin.
It brought back great memories of our long departed Bearded Collie, Fred. He'd leap through the snow and eventually form a path so the little Lhasas (3 of them) could follow but they always came to a full stop when he did - they had no choice! It was such fun to watch them.
Happy to hear it's evoking nice memories for a number of you.
I've watched it three times. I do need a life.
Nah, you just enjoy God's creatures having fun! Who doesn't?
You mentioned Lhasas. As a teen/young adult, my parents were given a "lhasa" by someone who bred them. This one didn't look like a lhasa at all, and the woman had feared that a stray had mated with her lhasa; thus, she wanted to get rid of it before any buyers saw it.
It was a beautiful reddish brown with more of a pointy face. The lady named him "Engelbert Pumpernickel Mocha Mousse". We just called him "Moosey". Come to find out, it was a Tibetan Spaniel, and the lady wanted to buy it back!
Apparently, the Tibetan Spaniels were rare, and popped up every so many generations (or something). By the time she wanted it back, we were already attached to him.
Funny how little fuzzballs can do that! My dh had a lhasa, Woodstock, or Woody. He loved riding in the car. In fact, you couldn't say the word "ride" in conversation without him getting all excited! I guess he would have been called my step-dog.
I think DH should get one of those baby carriers to keep Harry with him every minute of the day.
Don't mention it to him - he probably will!
Very cute, Pirl.
They ARE such sweet looking canines
This is hilarious - one of my all-time favorites, recently updated. Enjoy!
