Ahh...... Whats almost a year?

Well, now it's over and you can rejoice in not seeing the ads again.

The snow is almost gone. Of course, the first place it disappeared was over the cesspool. I always think of Erma Bombeck, and her book, when I see the big green area surrounded by white - "The Grass is Always Greener over the Septic Tank". Hard to believe she's gone 11 years now.

I remember when that book came out.

When the afternoon paper (remember those days?) arrived it was time to sit and have a cup of tea while reading her columns.

She always had a funny take on things.

I'm so glad I found out how to get rid of ads THANK-YOU!. That thing was driving me nuts.

Erma was freat, took every day stuff and made you look at it in a funny way. The snow does always melt first over the septic tank and the grass is greener. LOL

She had a line that was so funny, about her husband - "All you want is a gorilla who can cook with a can opener tied to his waist". Her poignant colums were excellent, too. I cut out and saved many of them but the best had to be the one about "Mother of the Year".

I spotted crocus foliage so the real thing can't be far away.

I probably have foliage too. Only flowers so far are the snowdrops.

I posted this on one of the beginners threads because we were complaining about squirrels digging up bulbs or worse. I found this... figure even if it doesn't keep them away for long it's very entertaining!

Nice - but we're cat people and dogs are a lot of work, though I do like them. Guess who would get stuck with it??

I like dogs, too, but they're worse than kids. They don't grow up and move out like kids do!

My three cats are enough to keep the majority of squirrels at bay.

Cool. I've seen similar things from them or others. They did a similar thing in a large store in NYC where they moved at a snail pace. In another one, they went to Barnes and Noble and checked their backpacks, with their cell phones inside. Then someone called all of them at the same time.

I had dinner at a great place last night. It was where the Brit (Major Andre) who conspired with Benedict Arnold was held. He was hanged up the hill behind the place. I was hoping to see a ghost but didn't.
