Ackk! Gotta go in to plow drifts, still -5 here.
Today's Weather in Your Garden - 12
Have fun, Al! Be safe.
I speak no Spanish Victor, and just discovered that my username isn't even spelled correctly! I should have stuck to French!
Ole, Ole, Ole! Cha cha cha!
I was going to ask about that! Funny.
Deb - so glad to hear your FIL had a nice day and that you enjoyed spending it with him. I hope my card got there in time! If not, it will just keep the birthday rolling along for him - like Harper's birthday.....and that might be a good thing to spread the surprise out for a bit longer. It is so nice to receive mail when you don't have a lot going on in your day that is fun!
9 and wind chill is -4 now!
Now 28 degrees and blowing about 25mph. We may get some snow. Patti
The wind is a killer. Unless you have a newer house with the tyvek wrap, it goes right through the walls.
Glad to say that doesnt happen in my house... ☺
20 and a w/c of 4.
Tell me about it, Victor. I'm sitting here with plastic over this bay window (brand new and not fully installed) and it's ripped off twice at the bottom. It gets the full brunt of the northwest winds. Such fun!
18° wc -14.2° wind WNW 21mph ☺
Try to stay warm, everyone! See you in the AM.

It's 1 degree here! Brrrrr!
14 here but w/wc it's 0. Wind gusts to 37. Rotten night trying to sleep with this plastic making noise all night long.
6 and sunny. Wind chill -22. Schools are closed.
Sunny, cold, 8 degrees. Gusty wind just makes it worse.
5 here with a nasty wind chill--my green lawn is white again---my dumb airedale is sitting by the fence hoping Lucy bulldog, the love of his life appears. He will be frozen like a pop--Pix, I am interested in Chinooks--how is his temperment?
Chinooks are the most loyal dog I have ever come across. I have 2 a male named Jake and a female named Jade. My female is very protective but she has never bite anyone and is good with the Grandchildren. My male was hit by a car when he was 6 months old and has never been 'right' since. He is extremely timid and jumpy, hates loud noises, and will run under the bed 9 out of 10 times if there is a commotion.
Here are a few links about Chinooks:

15 degrees and sunny but clouds moving in.
Winds: WNW at 36 mph
Gusts: 43 mph
Good day to stay inside. No yard work today. That means house cleaning, not my favorite. Patti
We're quite close, Patti, since we're at 17 and winds at 37 (gusts).
Sound like winter for you Pirl. 14 below here this morning.
Yes, especially in this rather cool room.
14 and windy here.
It was 12 here on the way up to 26 for our high. Haven't been outside, but it's supposed to be windy again today. Mall walking is on the agenda.
Last night , a tree landed on the power lines and Central Hudson had to cut our power (and therefore our heat), while they fixed the problem. Naturally, on the coldest night of the year, so far. This was at 11 PM. Thank heavens it was only out for an hour and a half! I broke out extra blankies for the family and brought the orchid which is this close >l l< to blooming into the bedroom with me in hopes of preventing bud blast. We'll see what happens!
Wow - good thing it was not for longer!
Glad you only lost your power for a little while Robin!
We were warned that we could lose power due to the winds and accumulations on the tree's and lines. I stocked the fireplace and all it needed was a match if we lost power. Thank goodness we didn't as it was very cold and windy here last night.
Too late, Pix---I looked at the puppies! We actually have a kennel in CT--Mt. Laurel, & I met someone at our fav hiking spot with a Chinook puppy---I loved it--however, after having a Norw. Elkhound for 16 yrs., the hair scares me! My GSP mix does shed all the time, but not clumps! Mamsita--what kind of orchids---mine are not blooming, & I'm getting snarly about it!
Robin- I have a mix of all types of orchids and am pleased to have several in spike and bloom! The one I brought into the bedroom with me is a Mormodes. Some of the phals are in bud and/or opening. The paphs are about done blooming, and so is one of the cyms. One of the phals will be blooming for the first time since I purchased it 4 years ago! I have catts, oncidiums, a maxillaria, cycnodes, masdevallia, dendrobiums, etc., etc. - over 100 in all. Also, African violets and other flowering tropicals. Then there are the succulents and cacti....
How 'bout you?
Off topic: anybody here from the Norwalk area of CT? I'm planning a mini-reunion with a friend from high school, and have a few questions!

Nice wind swept snow Al.
Looks cold Al, but very nicely done.
Nice shot Al. Hope you didn't plow that nice snow!
Not that. I did plow some drifts out in the country last night that weren't really interested in moving.
About 10 today.
