Best/ worse/ ? did you learn today #30 visit with friends...

During the past couple of days posts a couple of people were saying that they have high cholesterol. Jeannine for sure posted because of her recent medical testing.

About a week or ago my doctor told me that my blood work came back showing that I am border line for high cholesterol. I would appreciate any advice regarding using diet to lower cholesterol level so that I won't have to go on (more) medication for it.

Apparently if you eat oatmeal every morning it can help.
My son was borderline..and he lowered his with diet.
Oh boy..more fun shopping..do you live far out in the country so that you have to do big shopping trips?

vicki, nice to hear from you i was wondering where you were lol, oh my friend in idaho has a big black bear that rumages around on her deck no not me that would scare me to death!. the girl at work is ripping us off i found some pure acetone nail polish in the bathroom and by surprise all her fake nails were off hmmm guess she is using product i checked our inventory and sure enough were missing products here and there so the district mgr is finding out the legal way to get her out of here cant wait!

dawn, yes i got mean when they snuck in the pond and killed my white catfish he was so cool feeding time he would flip flop on top of the water, then it was a large goldfish took the head off and left me the body but the design of the pond i cant cover it they get in there and just make a mess i can remember in the summer months i use to have a bridge over the pond i could hear them in the night jumping off the bridge.

Liz I was wondering again about that girl. There has to be a way.To bad you can't prove she took the stuff. It's never easy. Our inventory is coming up on the 19th. That will also prove interesting. I would be so upset about the coons getting my fish. I'd have DH out there with a shotgun! I have a goldfish that is about 8 years old. Then some younger ones. I bring them in in the winter.

Oh to have someone in to clean once a week! That is a dream of mine!

In at 8:10 am..got a call from Suzanne who is travelling in with DH as they must be at airport at 11am this morning for their trip..so thoughtful..called me on the cel. and asked if I'd enjoy a peameal bacon on a bun..wow, there must be a pound of it...won't need lunch..

Weather was beautiful till I got about 10 miles from the city, then heavy mist, light snow and traffic moving about 30mph..that's ok..

Think I'll drop in the EzzyWear and Home Sense as I've my vehicle and then a quick stop to the Glass Studio..going there to work in the morning and need a few more supplies..bought that pkg. to do the dimensional butterflies, only to find same stored away in my pattern box..so must have liked it then and now..lol..

Glad you enjoy the cards..don't normally sign anything, must have slipped.. more cards to send out this week..so girls, if you didn't get your yet, it's still coming..have about 6 more to paint..

They were saying on the news this morning that by the weekend if we get the snow they are anticipating, we'll have broken the record for the 2nd largest amount of snow in a year for alltime record..then we still have 1/2 of Feb. and all of March so we'll probably break all records...

Isn't it fun to be part of a 'weather breaking record' NOT/NOT/NOT..

Terrible, BIL Lenny who drives transport hardly had any sleep last night so is in the office next door trying to get an hour or so before his flight..Paul got us all to get our cel phones, put them in the office next to where he's sleeping and we're in the other office with all our phones ringing off the wall, have intercalm to try and see what he says/does but not making a sound..lol you'd think we'd have better things to do..

ruby a doctor that worked w/my dd said if he could only give one tip to lower cholestrol he would say eat oatmeal every day and if possible eat it twice. They use to have oat pills that swelled with water in your stomach. I never see them anymore, but I would cheat and use them if I find them. I like Oatmeal but sometimes I forget or it does make me hungrier in the day if I eat it, I noticed, even the low sugar one.

Oh,Oh,Oh so excited..went to the Post Office and got my lovely present from my 'Secret Pal'....I ABSOLUTELY LOVE it~ matches my decor..how very talented that person is..forgot, can we show what we received???hmmm..unlike some, I'll share lol..

Did some shopping..got my Secret Pal gift for 2 months and sent it out..asked about not showing where it came from, but no go..must have the postmark and info to be shipped to another country..oh well..you can just pretend you don't know who it came from..

Then of course as with every Friday must pick up something for ME...memememe lol..so today I bought a beautiful mirror tray 3d floral on it..a 2nd one for a friend, the a plaque for my garden, too bad you can't see how dimentional the birds are, but I thought it was lovely, then stopped for some glass to work on my butterflies..and that was me taken care off..even included some bevels to do a gift for Cliff and Bernice for doing my back yard those few times..so I'm fixed for the weekend..starting to snow ever so lightly, let's hope it stays that way..

spwnt the day with my DD and grandchildren yesterday, hada couple of appointments in the morning with dr's and the like and then the rest with the kids. it was nice. my GD was telling me how much she missed me and how much she loved me..... i think it really hit home with my DD.

will get to see my DH today after a week of not seeing him. he has been working late and getting home at 3am! so will clean a little and then spend some time together.

My other DD has paid for us to spend 4 days at cherub cottage on philip island at easter!! that should be great!

Oh we all have been busy sending stuff off today at the post office.

Laura that is so fantastic, it is the best thing DH and I like to do. We would rather go to a romantic getaway and stay in our expensive room and hang at the spa and kiss. We like to go to eat and get our favorite magazines and enjoy the overpriced place than run all around, we do that the day we leave. I want my money's worth out of the place. One day or two is more fun than a week of Vegas or being gone for a long time. It is more special In my humble oppinion.

What is the date of our secret Pal ending?switching? I say we just do not look at postmarks on packages or cards that come w/ our name on them. Tell spouses not to say either. Post office said the only way is if you have a business and the business has a symbol that the PO knows where it came from but the normal people do not see it. I guess my pal has a business or works and mails from hers. It must be a bulk account or something like that. Sneaky person my secret pal is. The post lady said you are supposed to put a return address too but my pal didn't do it. She said you may get it returned if not, it is risky.

Shar I don't know why but Gunner's Hollywood post card came back and said undeliverable as addressed. I sent two so, thank God. How wierd.

Too funny! How would they be able to return it if there was no return address on the item??? Yeah! I asked too at the PO, and they said that everything has to get "canceled". I guess one way to get around that would be to wrap it in dark, shiny paper. Then the cancellation won't show....

Dawn, this SP round ends on the last day of February, and on that day we will tell who our SP is and make sure all our gifts are shown. Then on March 1 we will start over again for March and April. If anybody needs a break, that will be the time to do it.

Not sure about Gunner's card....it is his home address and is on his website.

Maybe it just had a number wrong or something. D mail me if you want the address again....but at least he probably got one.

I'm back from cutting glass and I might add my poor finger..using my saw so pushing on the glass without the proper gloves (which I have) can cut your fingers easily (which it did) lol..want to get the pieces foiled tonight while watching all my favorite shows..

Worked from home again today. DS has been much better. No fever since late yesterday afternoon. I knew he was better when he started whining about having to stay in the house and that he was BORED! It's kinda nice when he's sick, sweet & quiet! LOL!

Working on a new quilt wall hanging called Kemper Star. The center star was tedious becuase the pieces were so small. I couldn't even use pins to hold it. When it's done, it will be a star within a star within a star. I should be able to finish it this weekend.

My parents are suppose to come up on Sunday to spend the night then go out Monday for my DM's birthday (shopping at the quilt stores!!!). If DS stays well, they will come as planned.

I'm going with DH tomorrow to Lowes to try and find some kind of barrier I can put up so Murphy won't dig in my gardens. Maybe razor wire..... :)

Well, Betty isn't against your beliefs not to gamble at all. Because we don't much but they have tons of penny and nickel machines and there are shows to see and each casino is like a darn lavish museum of shops and stuff and restaurants. There is so much to see and the old Town area has cheap stuff to do and to eat and they have the Fremont Street Experience which a real neat lazer light show that covers a whole giant block. If you went I could meet you there.

Gardengirl the quilt sounds cute. My dd loves stars. she freaks over them. I bet she does her nursury in stars or old antique style, polar opposite ideas. No maybe angels. I will learn to quilt one day. I love them so much.

Hi everyone..
Well, I have got to say I am really dissapointed. Just got home from work. Stayed to do some revisions on a project. And OMG nothing I wanted to do worked to what is in my head!! Now, I made my copies but they are just that...simple and boring! Maybe I will go back tomorrow. I am starting to Hate machines. Hahaha well I tried and tried. Then I had to pick up son on way the way home from his friends, so as i was driving, and thinking on how I can resolve this issue Turn into our division here and it suddenly I realized, OH Sh** I forgot the Boy!! Hahaha, had to quick turn around and go get him. So I arrive and he hopping on one foot! Oh gosh what did you do I say, and he tells me his story of running around and fell into a pot hole or something! So he's got a wonderfully sprained foot. Not to cool, as he has awrestling match on Sun...So got him all fed and squared away with ice and a giant pillow for his ankle. I have been jumping up and down at his constant momm, can you get? I finally said Hey what else do you need? tell me now or it waits till tomorrow! Then DH, says hey you got some mail...It doesn't have a return address on it...Hmmm, I already got my SP mail, maybe another so quick?? So I open the card and it's abeautiful BD card from MIL. so sweet. Then he says their that box that came too. I look and it's a beautiful wrapped small box.
Too my suprise...it is wrapped in the very same wrapping paper I chose for some gifts recently, so I say wow, What are the odds of that hap[pening? I opened it and it is a CELL PHONE for me!!! Yep, ladies I am now in the 21 Century. Big smile, Couldn't do anything but laugh I am clueless at suprises. Just then my cell phone rings! So I open it, and it's DH, who is sitting right there on the couch!! Calling to tell me happy Birthday early...Again I am bursting in laughter and all my dissapointment melted away.

So...I sit to catchup with you, as today was kind of overwhelmed with work...I am glad beats sitting with nothing to do.
anyway, I am laughing at Shar's comment on her Liz gift. Which by the way...I too received a gift from Liz for my birthday!! Actually it came yesterday...Which Shar got to ask what what special packaging did you receive yours in?? ...Not only did I get permission to tell about my gift, permission to open it before my BD too, I got permission to show you! But, got dead batteries again sigh. Anyway, I got SEEDS and More SEEDS Thank you so much Liz,I love all of them and surely can't wait to plant them! Texas Blue Bonnnet, Delphinium, Alyssum,Morning Glory, Blue Lupine.Those are all the PURPLE flowers I will be having! Also, Gaillardia(Blanket Flowers)Harvested from her garden...Big smiles..not only that but two boxes of mini lights!! Hey gang. Finally got caught up. Glad to hear that everyone survived all of the stormy weather we have all had lately. Love all of the projects that everyone has been working on, all of them are delightful. I was sick over the weekend, started feeling better on monday, wednesday was Carl's bday, and yesterday I spent the day with my friend Susy. So all in all it's been a good week other than being sick. Finally have my greenhouse ready for planting seeds tomorrow. Once all is done I will take a picture.

Judy- I would love to get the R A&A cloth book, how much is it, do you recall? I found out that all of the JoAnne stores carry different fabrics it just depends on how well they sell in certain area. I would love to get some of the fabric that you found. Are you going to JoAnne's anytime in the next week or two? I can send you a check ahead of time for the cost of the fabric, cloth book kit and postage.

Betty- Nice secret pal gifts, are you going to send us all "love notes" on your notepad!?

Good morning everyone! Rise and Shine...guess I was excited about my gift..thought of the hours that went into it..for ME! so here I am up at 4am, bathed, hair done, 5am sitting gabbing with you all with coffee in hand..oh my..won't take long to finish those butterflies and then what..hmmmm..just maybe an afternoon nap!!

Must do some grocery shopping this morning so will be out before the masses arrive, then perhaps a visit to Cliff and Bernice's to get template of the little glass insert I want to do for the clock that Cliff made...

When I visit I look at the marvellous work they've done in the house...country showplace for sure and in a place of honor is a beautiful clock with pendulum and the plain glass just does not do the room justice, so, think I'll fix it up...Mrs. Fixit will be on the job..they keep saying they'd love to have one, probably won't take more than a couple of hours so why not..my good deed for the day..

Then it's a decision, do I tidy up my craft room from stained glass chards or continue my trek to do the lovely/lovely hanging piece for my front window..

Cat do you think that when a parcel cannot be delivered and no address that they open it up for clues??? I know, you could always put a friends address on it..mail it from a different destination but I'm stuck as is Laura...Canada and Australia customs well they must have their stamping..but then both Carol and I are from Ontario so, you wouldn't know which of us right???

im sure there just lovely well have to get in geer and clean the back room been putting it off for a while now it looks like a storage room dogs need a bath today im almost tempted to scatter seeds i might wait another week i know at one point we have to move all the rock for the fireplace to a pallet outside thinking in summer we will tackle that project otherwise i think its going to be a nice quiet day. and im still bursting at the seems lol sorry betty

betty, i forgot my boss gave me a couple of thease we cant use them at work they set the alarm off when we hang them from the celing so i was thinking they would make great wood snowflakes lol want the other set :)

Nice Liz..now I know there is 4 hrs. difference so if it's 8am here it's 4am there...now you ask me what I'm doing up early..lordy girl..go back to bed unless of course you are going to go outside and work on the stone palette...

I've cut the glass out, soldered it, now waiting to be put onto the body and made dimentional..not colors I'd pick but am trying with the lamp shades and little pieces I'm doing (although the butterfly is quite a size) to use up left overs..if I go purchase glass then I've defeated my recycling of glass ...

Will make myself a few and put them on stakes for the garden...sitting here waiting for 9am for grocery store in town to open so looking through my stained glass book...just sooo many garden projects..from lights to stakes to well just everything..if I can't be outside in the garden then I'll do things so that when spring comes I can go crazy out there...want my garden to be spectacular just like Carol...

So off I go, get dressed, take snow of the car..gab later..back to bed Liz...
