A new week, a new thread. We came from here...

Stop and visit, talk all you want.
Good morning :)) didn't sleep well last night, and this AM I have one little one with a sore throat, and another with an upset stomach :((
I didn't sleep well, not sure why, but was extremely restless and awake a lot. I was hoping to crawl back in bed when the kiddo's went to school but now it looks like I'll have at least one, possibly 2 of them home. I'll post more later on
Hugs,
Janis
Good morning, everyone.
Sorry you didn't sleep well. I hate that. Especially with sick ones in the house.
It needs to decide if it's going to snow or not, this morning.
Good morning girls! Crazy weather here. Thank goodness no one is ill here. Well, maybe we might be called strange in the head☺ but that's different LOL
Janis, I'm sorry about what you've had to go thru with your mom. Hopefully things will be better.♥
Celia, you forgot to add what chapter we're on!! LOL
I know! I was sleepy when I did it last night. Sorry. 15, isn't it? LOL
I have no clue! It seems we barely start one when it's time to start a new one!
Good afternoon all. Still having puter problems here. Am using DS's laptop...but seems it must be pretty full too, as it only works when it wants to. Geesh!!
Just wanted to say hi to you all, and am trying to keep up with the reading here.
Terry...thanks for telling me about where to find the rugs. Don't have any of those stores around here, but they are probably in Dayton, which is only an hr away....so maybe will get to check them out soon.
Marilyn....no wonder DH has a bad back!!! What a wreck that was.
Janis, my thoughts are with you! Hope all feel better up that way.
Celia....keep the snow out there!!! LOL!
Hi to all the rest of you too!! Hope you all have a good day!!!
Just wanted to stop in and let you all know I am still around, just a lot going on around here! Doesn't mean I am not thinking of all of you, though!
Marcy, you're lucky! I have to drive about 2 hours to find a Pottery Barn and I have no clue where the Ikea store is, my best friend does the driving! I know you can order straight off the internet for PB
http://www.potterybarn.com/
Right under where it says Pottery Barn, it says rugs. Make sure to look under the sales also. I just ordered one a few days ago. Some things are catalog only, and my rug happens to be one. If they have a Crate & Barrel, they have rugs also. I also forgot about Pier 1. For a little throw rug, like in front of the back door, I don't mind it being a cotton washable rug. It's better actually. But for the front door, I have a wool runner, and in the living room, I have the 5' x 8'. It's another 5' x 8' that's coming for the spare bedroom upstairs. I won't allow our daughter to have her desk chair on wheels in there, until I get the rug in there. Pine is too soft for things rolling across it constantly.
We had 5" of snow again last night. This morning we had thunderstorms. And hail. Then we had a sleet thunderstorm. Right now we're under a dense fog warning and we have a winter weather advisory watch out. It's 42º out, and with the rain, you'd think the snow would melt, but it's not. Maybe a little, but not much. Tomorrow is supposed to be a mix. Wed. is supposed to all snow. Each day is an 80% chance.
Where is Mau?
Hi Tammy, post when you can!♥
Hi, everybody. I am here. I just now found the new thread--had to go looking for y'all. :o)) Celia, that photo above certainly gives one "paws" for thought!! LOL
Janis, glad the saga of mom's boyfriend is over and done with and I hope he is put away where he belongs. I hope your mom finds a better boyfriend the next time around. Sorry you guys are sick.
Hi, Marcy! Hope you get your computer fixed soon. Isn't it amazing how we feel so "naked" when our computers aren't working?
Terry will you stop talking about Crate and Barrel and Pier 1, please?! All that talk is making me want to go shopping!!! I don't need to go shopping for anything these days except groceries. I really don't "need" anything but it still makes me want to go shopping. LOL
All you girls with snow, I hate to tell you this (not really) but it was 74º here today. grin Thunderstorms headed our way for tonight and tomorrow though. grin gone
Tammy, glad you are with us even if you don't have time to post.
Hugs to everybody!! ♥♥♥♥♥
Hey I can brag too!! We got to 71* before I left work today. But this morning we had dense fog. It was so bad in some areas that I literally couldn't see the road. If I didn't know that highway as well as I do I would have been in the ditch. Luckily no big trucks this morning or I might be dead. Has happened to another woman a couple years ago.
She didn't see a big dump truck coming because the fog was so thick and she pulled out in front of it. She died and I think one of her 2 kids with her died too. It is not a forviving road anyways but that was really bad. I still slow down when near that area.
♪♫Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow♫♪ You can have your heat. And when it gets warm here, I'm going to appreciate it! So there!!
I want to go shopping too. Unfortunately, the closest place that has Crate & Barrel and Pottery Barn and West Elm (I forgot them) is in Oakbrook. John won't want to go ☻
Dense fog is scary to drive in. Too many dumb people think headlights are NOT necessary and therefore don't turn them on. Hello!! If I can see red for your tail lights, then I can see you, you idiot!!
pep, I do have to ask though. What is forviving? Forgiving?
Edited because I read my post wrong and it needs no editing ☺

Oh, Terry, you are such a hoot!! Keep me laughing all the time. So there!! LOL
It's my bedtime. If anyone is still "out there", y'all have a good evening. I'll talk to you tomorrow.
Hugs all around!
Mau
Hoo-hoo-hoo..LOL
They are now calling for lots and lots of snow to start tomorrow afternoon, after we have sleet/freezing rain. Snow until Wed. afternoon! Weehee!!!
Mau, thanks for the a"paws". Tee hee
Hugs to everybody! I needed that, Mau.
I went shopping. I got a new pink sweater and a super loud phone for MIL. Oh and black pearl earrings. DH got them for me for Valentines Day. (Or so I told him.) LOL When I DID tell him, his response was that he was cute AND smart. That man makes me laugh every day! I think I love him. Isn't it fine when you find someone like that? (sigh)
It will be sleeting by noon and a full blown snowstorm with sleet mixed by 4pm. I get off work at 3:30. Guess I will be driving in it. And if the roads are really slick I may go pick up my mom since I have 4 wheel drive. Most likely I won't have too but wouldn't be the first time.
Good morning, all! More hugs all around! You know what they say about hugs: "A hug a day keeps the doctor away." . . . or was that an apple? Well, hugs work, too. LOL
Whoa, Celia! A new pink sweater AND black earrings? Watch out, Darrel! (or is it Daryl?) Yes, it is great to have a man you feel that way about. ☺☺☺ Even at our advanced ages (said with tongue in cheek) Pau and I know all about that--you should have seen the "card" he made me yesterday for no reason.--or maybe you shouldn't! It was for my eyes only but I'm telling you when I saw it, I was ROTFLOL for a while!! That man is something else! He's a hoot, just like you, Terry. You two could "Hoo, hoo, hoo" together and make a funny chorus!
Be careful in that bad weather, pepper! (I already said this to her on the weather thread but it never hurts to hear it twice.)
Everybody try to have a good morning. I'll be back after lunch.
Mau
Morning everyone!
I know Celia's husband isn't Daryl, that's my dad. He's Darrel, I think is how you spell it. How long have you been married Celia? My husband and I have been married longer than Mau and we're not even at her advanced age LOL My husband I have been married 26+, be 27 on July 3rd.
We've got that weather coming this way too. Freezing rain/sleet and then snow. Accumulations of both. 6" on the snow part of it. Fun Fun Fun!!!
So Mau, the card said what??☺☺☺☺
Good morning, everyone. THE SUN CAME OUT!!!
Pepper, be very careful. (I know you will but I have to say it anyway, even though you're already gone and won't see this until you get home and settled and...well, you know.)
*Darrell* We've been married 71/2 years but we've been co-habitating for 14 years.
Mau, it's nice Pau can do stuff like that. Let's you know you're loved more than saying it does.
I'm back. Had some stuff I needed to do outside the home this morning. Just got back from Wal-Mart, again, for the third time in almost as many days! I finally broke down and bought a new mouse. It cost me a whole $14.00! I'm really going to be upset if the mouse wasn't the problem. We'll see.
Terry, the card said, "I would wade the deepest ocean for you". " AWWWWW, How sweet!", I can hear you saying. It wasn't what it said that was so funny. It is what he made it with--a pair of boots, a banana, two apples, yellow easter grass and one of those over-the-shoulder harnesses you mentioned above. Actually the card was just a plain sheet of paper. The rest he put together below the sheet of paper which he taped to the upper cabinet and the whole thing was hanging from two of the knobs on the cabinet doors. The rest I will leave to your imagination because I resisted the urge to take a picture of it. Enough said about the "card". LOL We old folks haven't lost our sense of humor!!!
LOL, Mau.
LOL Marilyn!!! Aren't hubbys great!!! Sorry...can hardly type here....freezes up on me. Think sons computer is worse than mine!!! I am reading though.
Hugggs to all.
Extremely bad weather all over our state right now. Tornadoes everywhere, it seems, but not in Cabot, yet.
MIL just had a tornado go over her house in Clinton. She was/is in the basement--said she heard it and also heard tree limbs falling on the roof. Hopefully there weren't any big limbs. She is without electricity but she has a battery-operatied radio and her cell phone. There was a boat factory hit in the
Clinton area and evidently some people are trapped inside.
3 people have been killed in another county. It's bad out there folks!
I'll try to keep you posted on what is happening around here but I may have to turn off the computer if things get too bad.
Later. . .
Mau
P.S. I'm sure you girls in snow areas are thinking you would rather have snow than tornadoes!
Too funny Mau!! Tornadoes come thru this area quite a lot in the tornado season, whenever that is. There was one, not long ago, just on the other side of IA, so actually only about an hour from me. You don't expect tornadoes in the winter! Hope all is well for you!♥
We just got an update on our weather. We're due to get between 7 and 10 inches of snow over night into tomorrow. Should be interesting! It's raining out now. It should be freezing rain here pretty quickly, since the sun has set. It might be now. I've been too afraid to look outside! LOL
I would agree wholeheartedly that hubbies are great!! John is my other half! The good half, but of course...LOL☺
Celia, I knew Darrel didn't look right. Couldn't come up with the 2 ll's though. I'm sure that happens all the time..it sure does to my dad! Nobody ever gets that y in there LOL
Hi all, be safe!!! We have bad weather here as well, and more to come. Tornado warnings pretty much all over Missouri earlier!!
No tornado warnings here. Trust me, it was raining waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much and hard for that. lol. I got soaked today and I was in my truck.
Freezing rain should hit sometime tonight and snow after that. Bryan Busby says only an inch or so here, up to 8 inches in Nebraska. Another station was saying 6-8 inches for here. Will believe it when I see it.
Terry ,has already heard me rant about the weather in a d-mail. lol. Told her I had to quit talking about it or I would start cussing on here. LOL.
The reason for the cussing? Lots of flooding in buildings here. In one building water was running down an electrical panel. Does that everytime it rains like this. Crazy.
The severe weather has passed over central Arkansas. We are out of danger. When the storm came through it moved over very fast. We had high winds and hard rain but no hail for just about 20 minutes. The Little Rock airport reported straight line winds of 67 mph. The eastern one-third of the state is still in the path of the storm.
There are reports of LOTS of damage in various areas--homes destroyed, people injured and 3 confirmed deaths and people unaccounted for. According to one of the TV stations, the entire town of Highland, AR in the northern part of the state has been destroyed.
Emergency crews are having problems getting through to the affected areas due to large trees down across the roads and highways. It's too dark for them to really be able to assess the damage. The light of day tomorrow will, no doubt, show the extent of the damage.
Now a cold front is coming in behind the storm which will do away with the threat of tornadoes. It will be a miserable night for many in our state. They are in need of your prayers.
Prayers going out from here, Mau!
Thanks, Tammy, and the rest of you, too, who will read this later.
You are so welcome, Mau!
Oh wonderful Mau! *said tongue in cheek* Last time a tornado went thru Bull Shoals, we got a new boat and a new roof. Wonder what's happening over there?
pepper, water running down an electric panel, and it's been doing it for a long time, seems rather irresponsible to me. If something happens, and the insurance knows it's been happening, they aren't paying out a red cent.
It happens when it rains hard. They have tried to fix the problem but it's very hard. The water comes down the foundation wall, travels over to the panel somehow for about 10 feet and dribbles down that. There is a box outside right along the foundation and water will run down in there when it pours. They really have tried to fix it but haven't found the right solution.
Terry, I haven't heard anything about damage in Bull Shoals. However, they are saying that Gassville sustained a lot of damage. It will be morning before we will know the extent of the damage, I am sure.
So far there are at least 5 confirmed dead. One of the fatalities occured in Clinton which is where Pau's mother lives. The tornado evidently passed not too far behind her house, maybe 1/4 to 1/2 mile from her. That's too close for comfort. According to reports, most, if not all, of the people in
Clinton are without power. We will drive up there tomorrow to check on her and the house. If she is still without power she will need to come home with us. She won't be too happy about that but there is no getting around it. She can't stay there without power, especially with the weather turning colder.
I'm going to turn in now. Will have to be up and on the way to Clinton early tomorrow morning.
Good night, Mau and Pau!
Back home and WOW!!! Bad weather for you girls! I would rather have light rain occasionally and seventies than snow and tornados. We had a big tornado here in 1999. Lots of people were hurt and one death. We had an open-air show going on at one opf the local arenas and it blew right through the middle of it. F3, if I recall correctly. I was outside when it hit, having a smoke. The wind was so bad I went inside and two minutes later the power went. I may have mentioned this to y'all before.
Hope everyone is safe. We have MORE bad weather coming.
Stay safe, all!
Good morning, everyone.
Everyone still safe after all the weather yesterday?
It's 25º here with a 'feels like' temp of 15º. Snow on the way. I think it's going to be bad for this mornings commute because it will snow on top on ice.
And, please, tell me why some people think the rules don't apply to them?
Celia. . .Because some people think they are immortal and nothing bad will happen to them. They don't think about the other people in their path that might be affected by their bad decisions.
My MIL called about an hour ago to say that she has power now so we don't have to bring her home with us. Pau left a few minutes ago to drive up there and check on her, anyway. Both MIL and Pau are mad at me at the moment. MIL because I dared to suggest that she pack her suitcase and come stay a few days with us and Pau because I insisted he go up there and check on her. Like mother, like son!!! Dealing with those two is like dealing with a couple of ostriches who would rather stick their heads in the sand than to face reality. Can you see their tail feathers waving in the wind? (Forgive me for venting but I knew I could say that here and nobody would complain or chastise me. What would I do without my DG friends?)
Lots of damage all across the south this morning. Lots of people without homes or any of their material possessions. We're okay here at my house and we have a roof over our heads so I do have a lot to be thankful for. I hope you are all okay and I will be waiting to see you all check in with us this morning.
Mau, I don't get it. You try to do good and it slams you in the face. Hugs to you.
How is everyone else? It's very quiet today.
Morning, girls. All are safe in our neck of the woods this morning, but I know there are people in the same boat as Mau was describing. Won't know anything till the Noon news comes on how bad things are here in Missouri.
I heard there were some deaths. It's just aweful. My heart cries for their families.
It's really bad down there. ABC News did a segment on it.
