I went to the pound first, but we needed one of those dogs that doesn't shed 'cause DH has allergies. In this area, most of the dogs in the pound were pit bulls and rotweillers, poor things. So I broke down and got a poodle. I made sure he wasn't from a puppy mill.

Does anyone else keep his / her bills (money) all right side up, singles in the front to the larger ones in the back?
after years of working in bars and in retail, it is a compulsion.
doesn't everybody?
I keep mine in a crumpled up mess. Then I stuff them in whichever pocket is easiest. When I have time, I flatten them out and put them in a clip, but I don't bother putting them in any kind of order. DH doesn't understand it. I love it, cause I find money everywhere that I never knew I lost!
What money? I haven't seen real money in years. I do have a little tin with some canadian money with the Queen's picture on it.

LOL!
You're like my wife, Harper. It's a total mess when it comes out of her purse.
Yup. Old receipts from who knows when and all kinds of stuff can be found in my purse. I hate carrying a purse, so usually I just stick my change in a pocket. Doesn't matter which one.
All in order in my wallet, Victor.
Me too, in order..20's, 10's, 5's ect..
I'm with Harper. More fun that way. Surprises, too.
Fun! Surprises!
Sure, when you put on the coat from last week, who knows what lurks in the pockets.
I make sure I have a chapstick in every coat pocket, purse, room, drawer. I don't like chapped lips!
I organize the bills from front to back in denomination order - but I don't turn them all facing the same way. I also leave bills in my coat pockets. Always a nice surprise to reach in and pull out money. I keep gloves in every coat pocket - my hands freeze otherwise.
I usually wear cargo shorts about 90 % of the time. There's always cash in all those pockets, which I forget is there, then when I go to do laundry, it's like going to the ATM machine.
Before or after the wash??
Sometimes, BOTH !
Money launderer!!
Have you ever seen a bleached 20 Dollar Bill ? I have...MANY times.
They turn yellow.
Even the newer ones?
I don't know...all the ones I see here are old. They get pretty mangled by the time they reach the west coast.
I thought we had printers all over the country?
I'll save Victor the trouble and say, " I have a printer on my desk"...
I guess they DO print money here...somewhere...
The letter on the bill usually tells what city it was printed in. I used to memorize them when I was a kid. Come to think of it, I don't remember too many presses in the west.
i had a job where I had to make a copy of any money that was paid for rent. I found out that the copier will distort the image of the money. the boss said all copiers do that so your can't use a copier to make fake money (!)
Maybe if you ran the copies through the laundry they would shrink back into shape (?) I haven't tried this in case the FBI is looking.
Hey Sof. That's really valuable information. Wow Kansas City covers a lot of area.
Cool info, Sof !
It used to be against the law to copy money so when I had to do it for proof of payment in the mortgage business I'd just fan out the money to copy the denominations and not the face of the bills.
A few years ago a few Columbia students were busted for making real good copies of larger bills.
Is it true that dollar bills are printed on cotton, not paper??? I seem to remember reading that somewhere.
Never heard that.
I think there may be some truth to it...maybe that's why they don't fall apart when they get wet.
So if I run out of TP...
Money is printed on "rag" paper. You can't just go to Staples and by rag paper.
Thesis paper and document paper is rag paper.
75% cotton / 25% linen.

you can buy 100% cotton paper - it is what i used to always do my resumes on.
