Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Pt.30 Visit with Friends

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

Everyone I thank you for your concern for me. My IP has been down so it is just as well because I wouldn't have wanted to talk.

I am unable to stop crying for any real length of time yet, too much guilt, too much lost time and remorse. I wish I had just told Greg I was going to keep him just a little longer. I think he was happy here. He was sick and maybe it was selfish but I just feel like I murdered him and forsook him.

You are all so compassionate and it was so sweet of Betty and Shar to go hunting for me on the Glass of Wind thread. lol

I will be ok. I just have to sort it out. I have been given a lot of tips and hope I let myself want to stop missing and thinking about him. It is hard for me with him buried outside my bedroom glass door.

don't let me have a pitty party for myself here. You have probably all been through something similar. Sorry. Here is a pix of him. I love yall.

Scanned the remainder of my painting pictures into My Documents.

Would you like to see some more of them? half now--half another day, OK? Then that will be all. Do you think?????

Since all this scanning stuff is going so well, I am now tempted to tackle the Crafts Brag Book!!!! There are a few "gems" in there also.

OK! Here are some swans on a foggy lake. This one went to my SIL in Seattle.

Dawn! We cross posted! Glad to hear from you!

Please don't feel guilty! It is better that Mushi is "Over the rainbow bridge" that it would be for him to keep suffering here on Earth. I hope in your heart you know that. Like with all our departed loved ones, it is more productive (not always easier) to concentrate on the good memories and the good times.
I am sure you did him a kindness to gently put him to sleep...and it is perfectly OK to cry and cry until all the pain of the loss is past. Just go ahead!

Now, plant a pretty rose bush or something else over his grave in your Garden and he will live in your heart and in your memory--with every bloom.

I will wait to post the rest of my pictures as I am sure a lot of people will want to talk to you now. Just not appropriate to flaunt my pictures at this time.

Hang in there, Gita

Oh Dawn so sorry. they are giving you good advice so will not add mine. But do allow yourself to grieve. That is the best thing for you.

Hugs

GITA the swans on the lake picture is awesome, save that for the photo contest next year

hey y'all...lost and up to no good as usual..

aww.....hellnz...it'll get better sweetie :)

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

Trop,

The swans are NOT a photo--that is a picture of one of my paintings.....

OK! I'll post a few more.

My Mom missed the white sandy beaches of out Homeland (Latvia) and asked me once to paint a picture of it. We only lived a short walking distance from the beach.
I only had a black and white Postcard to go by for the composition. Then another picture for the color. It is not too "professional", but it was the best i could do not having something to actually copy it from...and Mom loved it.

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

Never liked this one! Still don't! Too much pink....

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

This is another one I painted for mu Mom. Birch trees have always been near and dear to us all. They are so beautiful.....I think I did this from a place mat....not sure any more.

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

I tried doing oil pastels just this one time. Used whitish pastel chalk on blue paper. The picture is from the book "The Faeries".
Gave it to my daughter, but it still spent a lot of time here at my house. Then I thought it was lost. neither of us had it. Found it one day among her high school art papers.

Just something frivolous....for the girls.

Did these from 2 Wildlife federation Stamps (remember those?). They were just stamp-sized.

That's all for tonight. Still have a few to go. Magnana!!!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Up and running late..had thought we'd be off as they called for the freezing rain..but it's mild out, no need to even pre-start my car...

So glad you posted Dawn..we were all worried about you..know your heart is aching but know you did what was best ...take some time to grieve and as the others said, think of the good times you sharred together...

Gab with you all later today..must get dressed in case Suzanne decides to leave just afte 6...lol...today maybe I can put my pants on the correct way..wondered why I had no pockets...hmmm only to find I put them on backwards...slip on things..lol old age ...

Pacifica, CA

omg betty...lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Had an enjoyable trip in..roads were bare...accident just after us so Paul and the girls just got in..guess we missed it...enjoying my coffee and western sandwich as we speak...nothing like having a restaurant next door to me at home and here at work..makes life so much easier..no wonder I have so much time to play...

Gita, love the Faeries...looks so very mystic...and would certainly look great on a t-shirt...can't wait to get to post office Friday to check if mine are in..

Jeannine got the photo of the 'cat '...I'll see what I can do..

Liz have you seen these feathered roses and where would one find them..has my curiosity goingmaybe all of us should put our $$$ together and purchase a HD..I'll opt to work in the woodworking dept...lol

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

Trop,

How do you make a T-Shirt from a picture here on your computer?

I will see if i can take a close-up of the picture in the Faeries book. It would be a lot more sharp and colorfull--otherwise--it will look just like my drawing, as when I VISUALLY copy something, it looks identical.

Have just 2 to go, Folks. Then I will leave you all be.....

This is not "right" as the flowers lack depth. Must have been done in the earlier classes.
Still gonna share it!

I know I posted this one before, but this one has been "refreshed" as I now did the scanning thing.

I am not so sure all this "refreshing" is right. The photos I am scanning from are from the 1970's and have dulled in color. I really struggle (when 'refreshing" the colors) so my eye can say--"That looks OK now"--even though sometimes the colors seem to bright. Not having the original paintings here, I have to guess.

This one was a gift to my elderly Aunt in Oregon. She died about 4 years ago at age 93 and bequeathed me mu painting back. I have it in my bedroom.

Thumbnail by Gitagal
Victoria Harbour, ON

I think Gita you can purchase a package in the sewing department at Walmart which has 6 or 8 sheets in them..you simply pring using one of these sheets in your computer printer and then iron to t-shirt..Trop may have something more sophisticated in mind...

Know when the grandchildren would visit..I'd also print a photo, iron the photocopy directly on the shirt and they would color it...

Trop, you'll have to let us kow...

Gita..bet you are pleased with getting that lovely painting back..enjoy it..is peaceful..

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

Exactly, we use those printer sheets, and my friend has one of those hot-presses for making t-shirts so we usually wait and do a bunch that way , they last soooo much longer. Only bad thing is that if the shirt has any sort of stretch to it, it breaks apart pretty easily and wears out quickly. I keep trying cause I just want some cute tank tops...

Gita I like your picture though

Victoria Harbour, ON

know Trop about it breaking apart after awhile..less likely if using a cotton shirt...did a family quilt using same process..each block was photo of family members..has better lifespan on the cotton..probably not washed as much!

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

tell ya though, even the stretch cotton, any strectch at all and it gets all messed up. it's fun to make them though, we made lots of little baby onesies when my daughter was little

Richmond, VA(Zone 7a)

I agree. Cotton holds the pics better. You can also get the sheets at any of the office stores like Staples. DD had a birthday party a couple of years ago and I took a picture of the group then made tees for them when they left.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Now that would be a wonderful 'take home' treat..you are just soooo smart...

Thought you might enjoy this everyone...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Heard most of them as well, Aunts/Uncles etc. but grandma and grandpa were quite a bit older when raising me..not sure they were hip enought to know these sayings..lol..but, they got their point across..but to this day, I wear clean undies JUST IN CASE!!!

Crozet, VA

So glad that your computer is back up and running Dawn. Thank you for coming in and letting us know that you are doing okay. I hope that you can take the thought of murdering the dog right out of your head. You did what needed to be done for him. You indeed have a lot of friends on these boards who were very concerned when they didn't hear from you.

Gita - You just keep amazing me more and more with all the lovelies. You have really done some nice work.

Didn't get to go and eat. Before I left home, John received a call from someone who wanted to come and look at a vehicle that we are selling. He had to wait for the guy to come and it was at the dinner hour. We will try again soon though. Oh yeah Betty, I love the Cracker Barrel Store. I always love their holiday decor. They sell things that I have never seen at other places and I guess that is why I like them so much.

Hello to all others. I will check back again later on. Take care.

Ruby

Jim Falls, WI(Zone 4a)

Hellooooo! The storm is here. High winds and cold and white out conditions! Makes for a great day.

DH called and sait they are having a meeting after work. He has had to go out twice with the rollback to pick up vehicles. He is not a happy camper. Oh yeah the roads are glare ice also.

Have been doing paperwork and a few other things today.

Thinking of you today Dawn.

Richmond, VA(Zone 7a)

Well, I started to jot down the 'I owe Mom's" and I realized I think I've heard them all - or I've said them all. The lines are blurry! Thanks for the great chuckle Betty!

Newcastle, ON(Zone 5a)

Hi everyone,
Just dropping in to see what is going on.

Dawn I hope you are feeling a little more acceptance today.

Gita..I missed saying what a great photo of you and your sis in New York..both of you wearing some red for the season. I was amazed at the painting of the swans..so hauntingly beauitful.
Thanks for delighting us with your paintings.

I went for a walk out back to see what is happening there..rabbits have been enjoying all the rose bushes..they have them all pruned for me. LOL They even ate a clematis right off at about 12 inches..so thoughtful of them..luckily it is a jackmanii..so it will shoot up again.

Trop..I made a transfer of a photo of my gazebo and ironed it on a no sweatshirt..it seems to be holding up ok..as it is loose fitting..
Betty..good ones about Moms..I agree...the one that sticks the most is the wear clean underwear, you never know when you might be in an accident.
LOL..

and ..Eat your supper..there are children starving in _ _ _ _ _ ( it used to be India at my house)

Hi Ves..what is the rollback? is it a tow truck kind of thing?
Stay safe...

Bye for now..

Jim Falls, WI(Zone 4a)

A rollback is a flatbed truck that hauls the car.

Nice of the bunnies to do your pruning. LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

Vicki, weather there sounds much of what's to come..sky is getting darker, getting colder..came back from lunch freezing (but that could be that I still feel as though I'm coming down with something) and for the winds 100kl..that's mighty powerful mixed with snow...so you all stay in...

My DH Roger worked for a car carrier for many years until he fell off and had an injury, then worked with me for the Municipality..I was his boss...now that was fun..lol..but I always worried about him driving..long hours/bad weather etc. no wonder your DH isn't pleased...

Ruby I went to 3 or 4 Cracker Barrel's near Clearwater as my Aunt on the way down purchased a fibre-optic tree..lordy it was beautiful all lit up and then when mom finally decided that she wanted one, couldn't find them..did manage to get her one..always thought they had all same supplies but not..I'll have to research N.Y. Buffalo area and see if they have one..often go cross border shopping and love to come back with a different piece...because my house is so 'country' everything they have fits to a 't'..and very reasonable...

Mom called the other night to say they managed to get me some more of the birds that I wanted that you can put 1/2 the bird on the outside window and the other 1/2 on the inside..so pretty..will have to show you all in a photo..now I wanted about 10 but she only picked up 4..will have to send her on another errand...lol..maybe Aunt Muriel could do it for me...give her a few hours out...hmm..

Dawn, so wanted to call you last night and did try to stay up, was at 8pm that I looked at the clock and though..only 4pm-probably she's still at school or on way home..then after that I fell asleep..do hope today is a better day for you...

Judy did you get caught up on all that printing? No staying late I hope..

Carol, in my house the kids in Africa were all starving..always told grandma that I'd wrap it up and sent it to them then..you've got hungry critters...remember purchasing a few rabbits for the boys, well they got away, not long before there were rabbits everywhere, nothing left in the flower or veggie garden..so, we had to live trap them all...it was either that or rabbit stew...

Things are still the same with 'moms' lol..guess it's also like that with 'dad'..my kids remember the story that Roger had to walk 2 miles to school uphill and that they were so poor, he wore the shoes to school and his brother Robert wore them home...lol...

Crozet, VA

Starzz, you have the right attitude about the bunny damage. You may as well laugh at it, cause nothing much you can do about it.
Ves, my hubby owns a roll back. It hs certainly come in handy since he bought it a couple of years ago. Is your hubby a mechanic?

Ruby

Crozet, VA

I had never heard the shoe one Betty. I love it.
