... looks like the seats are all taken! lol! ☺
Today's Weather in Your Garden - 10
Sunny and 34 here. You guys with all the snow this year really have my sympathy!
Yea, but just imagine... plenty of water for those roots in the spring! Completely overcast and windy down here.
Yes - been dry here.
We're at 26° with no snow cover. Have been in this pattern for about a week & the plants are showing signs of extreme discomfort. We have ice, though - that's always loads of fun to drive on.
Just came in from "dusting" off the top of the driveway, only about an inch out there now. Still snowing, but no very hard. Wind has been a bit more gusty this afternoon. Still low 20s, hasn't moved much all day.
Love the little bird and picnic scene, sure could use some green though. :)
Nice, looks like a purple finch on the Norway. Juncos and Redpolls?? at the feeder. ☺
Thanks for he ID's. I am terrible at it. I know NYC pigeons, though. Was wondering about the red one. So red is purple?!!
Yes, (lol), I don't know why they call them purple either, but he's in Sibley's. My little guy up there is an Eastern Phoebe. ☺
I'm told the upper ones in the feeder are goldfinches.
Very nice shot of the snow and shadows, Al!
Sequee - are they serving snow pudding at the picnic???
Very pretty bird photos, WC & Victor! We had a pretty purple finch at our feeder this week. We don't see many of them here, and I think they are so pretty!
Pirl - interesting article on the benefits of snow! Makes me feel good about my garden that's buried in NH. It's in better shape without me than with me there!! LOL
Yes, now I'm wanting a bit of snow. Starts at 8PM, melted by 6 AM.
Yes, you're right they're not Redpolls, I was unsure about that one! Thanks! ☺
I'm glad they're not or purple would have really meant red and red would have really meant yellow. Are there any color-blind birdwatchers out there?!
Ohh, no, I thought you meant the ones at the top of the feeder not above the feeder photo, yep... that's a Purple Finch alright! lol! ☺
I did mean the ones at the top of the feeder are goldfinches, according to someone on another thread. Sorry for the confusion.
Bird Identification IS very confusing... God help those colorblind birdwatchers! ☺
They really should wear name tags.
I don't think it's a big issue with my cat.
Cat? I thought you said you were a man?
The cat is a lion, no doubt.
His next article is on crocheting a toaster cozy I bet.
Well maybe Victor calls it 'Tiger' or 'Killer' to make up for it. I hate to think of 'peaches' or 'fluffy' or something like that ... YucccK! lol! ☺
Funny!
I thought it was "Crash".
It is Crash!
Ok, that's cool. ☺
... and when he runs on that floor and tries to stop he crashes into things? lol! ☺
The morning after I first brought him (and his brother) home, he sprinted toward the porch and crashed hard into the sliding door! Name was born. I guess I cleaned the doors too well!
Cute Al! Better if only the eyes were changed.
They weren't 'spinning' as nice as I wanted so I kept going.
Finally got a real storm today. Blowing pretty good, as they say here. Power out for a few hours. Not much accumulation as it is blowing it off the island, but the most we have had this winter. Patti
32 °F / 0 °C
Light Snow
Humidity: 93%
Dew Point: 30 °F / -1 °C
Wind: 39 mph / 63 km from the NNE
Wind Gust: 52 mph
Have a generator?
No woodstove, candles and lots of down puffs and two dogs. The snow is starting to build up and it is howling. Patti
Howling winds here, too, but no snow. Good luck tonight.
So, Victor, you now want some snow!! I still have plenty even though some melted today. Bird ID: the one in the spruce is a Purple Finch, the top two in the cage are gold finches and I didn't see the bottom one until i started posting so i can't enlarge it to see what it is and I might not know anyway!! I guess I don't look at the bottoms of pics very well - I see railings instead of pitch forks and I miss birds on feeders!! Eleanor
