Thanks Victor.
Pixie, apparently. I was hoping not this year, but it never fails.
Today's Weather in Your Garden - 10
We are at a whopping 10°
Break out the frisbee!
Polly - my Dad lives in Baldwinsville.....he said it got up to 4 degrees there yesterday.....and the wind was wicked! he had not gone any further than the garage for the previous 2 days - only long enough to smoke his pipe --
He didn't say it was snowing when I talked to him last night - I can't get a reading on snowfall from weather info - how much do you think they got around B'VIlle? (I worry about him trying to get out to the store and stuff like that....)
he always says...."if you don't like the weather right now --- stick around a few minutes --- it'll change!"
They got nothing in Baldwinsville. My daughter lives there and has her office there, and as of this morning they could still see the grass.
Her irises aren't as happy as yours are.
Probably not, but her delphs and lupines are much happier.
Thanks Polly!
(delphs and lupines.....I may need to add some to his gardens this spring....)
They seem to do well in B'ville. Nix in Hannibal.
Back down to 12...time to light the fireplace and toast some weenies!
Brrrr, it's cold outside!! Stay off of thin ice, or any ice - a warning from someone who should know better! My DD#1 and I went snowshoeing today along the Hudson river. We were walking along the river where it is kinda swampy and we wanted to get to the other side of the swampy section. DD walked on a big log to get to the other side. I couldn't even get up onto the log so I looked for ice to walk on. Didn't make a good choice and I went in up to my knees. The look on DD's face was priceless. She was so scared - got out of her snow shoes in about 2 seconds, threw them over on the other side, ran back over the log and panicked. I managed to get out of the water and DD helped me get on my feet. I was soaked and had about a mile to walk to get back to the house in 10 degree weather. When I got home my boot laces were frozen as well as my jeans and long underwear. I had on brand new snow shoe boots but my feet were not cold even though they were wet. Good boots - just hope I didn't ruin them. Gosh, I'm always getting into trouble - poison ivy, falling into freezing water, .................! Don't know what I'll try next , but I'm sure it will be an adventure!! Eleanor
Wow - I know that feeling, Eleanor, from when I fell into my pond. But I only had a few feet to get to my house. The chill must have stayed with you for some time!
Eleanor, I am cold just reading about your icy adventure. Glad you got home and thawed out. Yep, I got the poison ivy instead of you this week. Not happy, not pretty, and feeling itchy as all get out, but I am not cold and wet like you. Patti
Hope you had a nice warm night, Eleanor, and no nightmares over the long, cold, wet walk home.
19 degrees now.
8 degrees here. Icy driveway which we sanded and then it snowed an inch....
Thanks guys and yes I did get warm after a while. I didn't go out for the rest of the day - had DH fill the bird feeders! DD#2 wanted me to take Colin home and meet her there, but I told her I wasn't going out so she would have to come over and get him!! It's cold again today, 4 degrees!! Supposed to get a little snow later today. Eleanor
Eleanor, arent we just the adventure maker! Goodness Lady, you could of gotten hurt or very sick. Glad you are OK and warm now...think you should stay away from the river until it warms up!!
It is cloudy and gray here. Expecting some snow showers later today and tomorrow.

Did you plow already?
Yes, 10 1/2 hour night
Ouch! Get some rest.
I don't sleep well during the day - tonight I will.
I don't think I caught any more dead guys for you, I took a few pics.
I could never sleep when I worked nights either.
Nice 'action' shot!
Looks like a Black Lab almost covered with snow to the right at the front of the photo.
Nope - it's a sheep - even I noticed that.
I say sheep too.
Sounds like a topic for next week's 'fun quiz'
Sheep or dog, you shouldn't have to count them tonight after working all night.
I got that magazine with the twins already ;)
I see your point to a degree.
I vote for dog-that nose curve is more dog.
Goat?
Goats have shorter ears.
Al - the article that showed the photo of the sheep was interesting.
Dairy goats have long ears.
