Garden Party - Orange - Sat, Feb 23rd, 2008
I'll be there with bells on! Looking forward to seeing everyone. It's been a long time. I'll rack my brains on what to bring.
Won't be back to Iowa until next week, so will post then what I am doing for meat (main course).
I'll be there, sans bells though ! I'll actually bring plants this time.
Has anyone heard from George lately ?
Haven't heard from George in a long time.
My calendar seems to be open that day too. lol I'll be there and should have some plants this time.
I hope some of the new members will think about coming this time too. We need some new blood. snicker, snicker
Donna
I'll be there, with my old blood. :-)
"old" blood and "new" blood WELCOME!
I won't be able to come but I might get my daddy, Bob, and his SO Joyce to come. I am new here so how do I get the address?? They are old ones and some times they have a hard time moving. They would fit in very well for they are Orange County Master Gardeners. They used to take care of the Children's Garden at the Fullerton Arboretum.
Argyle
That would be wonderful "new" blood, Argyle1! Please encourage them to come. And welcome to you, too.
Just saw the post - will definitely put it on calender and looking forward to it.
Yea, Arlene, looks like you might have a good turnout.
Hi, everyone. Yes, Sue and I will be able to make it this time.
Hi George! Long time no hear from. It will be good to see you and Sue. Glad you can make it!
Wow! I've been gone all day so don't think I was ignoring you all. When I get back to Iowa this week I will Dmail the driving instructions and post what the main course will be.
Weegy . . yup
George! We missed you last time; this will be great!
Argyle1,
We look forward to meeting you; the house is in Orange at Glassell and Lincoln near the 91 freeway. You'll be hearing from me.
hey what day is this happening? I would love to come but sometimes I cant ge off work, darn retail
steph
Steph: Saturday Feb. 23
Would love to have you Steph. If you decide to come I will email you directions this week.
Sounds wonderful. I have an out of town conference that week. I will come if I can get back in time to recoup.
TLeaves,
Where is your conference being held?
Count me in.
Yea Kanita! Look forward to seeing you. How's Ka-Nee-Tah doing?!?!?
As far as I know I can come --
Would anyone like Leonotis menthifolia? I can bring by the pint, quart, bucket, or half flat! Volunteers everywhere!
I can also split my Salvia spathacea which is SO happy now that the S.chiapensis is not laying all over it. I've decided I rather like it again so not trying to give it all away, but I will pot up a few runners if there are takers.
~'spin!~
Spin,
I knew you would come. What would be a garden party without YOU!?
Yes, please, to the S. spathacea, 'spin! We still have a bare slope to fill. Does it spread a lot? (fingers crossed!)
Kathleen
Kah Nee Tah is doing fine. It hasn't flowered yet though. I look forward to seeing you all.
We will be there although a bit late. We will come straight from church at 12:00 pm. It is not that far from us. We can attend church at La Sierra SDA University Church which is closer than our church. I have some plants to bring that I have been saving for just such an event as this.
Thanks for inviting us.
Chuck and Loida
Arlene said
Quieter, perhaps?!!
Kathleen,
S.spathacea will spread once established. It has perked up so much now that it can breathe that it appears to be filling in the circle they used to share, quite quickly. It seems the S.chiapensis was not a good sharer. I thought it didn't like being so exposed (to the sun), but I guess now that it was just in recovery from being buried in the other plant, or in shock from being exposed all at once like that, but it's real happy now, putting up flower spikes and all.
I think it's several months too early to flower, but the 80^F last week fooled it.
I will cut down and give you as much dirt around the roots as I can so as to keep fooling it if we can!
~'spin!~
Arlene, add JDZ to your list. I invited a newbie and they're coming.
Thanks, 'spin! I can use the greenhouse if necessary until the ground is warm enough.
I have two plumerias I can bring if someone wants one. They were rooted last summer and might or might not bloom this year; right now they are dormant so don't look like much. The flowers will be white (perhaps a blush of pink) and I hear they have a mild fragrance.

These were offered by Clare_CA (cuttings from flyboyFL aka Brad) for postage last year and I would like to pass on the love. They need to be kept warm until the weather warms up.
Edited: Kanita and Arlene have these.

Kathleen, you know I perked up when I read that you have plumerias but will have to turn them down reluctantly!
If anyone wants night blooming jessamine, I have a couple of little guys that I will dig out of the ground and bring.

What? The plumie queen does not want one? The sky is falling...run for your lives!
I know, I know. I have about 15 seedlings that I need to pot up so it's a matter of "where will you put them all, Louise!" Otherwise, I'd be the first to beg you for them!
Louise...not to mention a lg. brug you need to find room for !
Oh yes, a large brug is coming my way...don't you worry Mike, I know right where it's going!
I would love a plumeria and jamine! I' still trying to replace all of the items that were stolen out of my garden last year.
Your name is on one, Kanita!
me too; I would like a plumeria
edited for spelling
