blue_eyes - A small one would be fine. Thank you.
College Station Spring Roundup-TRADES
Pattie- will put you down for one.....great color in winter and a striking presence in the yard/garden! Lee
Thanks, Lee!
AuntAnne - May I have a clump of the Purple Flag Iris? Thanks so much!
Lee
Yes ma'am you may. Some are blooming right now. I'll try to send a pic tomorrow.
Anne
I sure appreciate it! Lookin' forward to the pic!
Just "spoke" with City_Sylvia. She is coming and asked to be added to the list. Can't have a roundup without her! Sheila, will you make a spot for her up top?
Sylvia.....just post "saving for trade list" in a space and I will link it to your name at the top.
I've been looking at trade lists again so...
Willis do you still have campernell jonquill to trade? I have a few of these, but for some reason they have not spread. They are under a pecan tree. Perhaps that's why? Also do you still have King Alfred daffs?
Patrob, the apple mint you gave me last time died. Not sure why, but do you still have some?
Kim, does your Mom still have school house lilies to trade?
Thanks ya'll. Can't wait for the RU.
Mary Lee, I have lots and lots of apple mint. I'll pot some up now for you so it will be going strong.
Thanks Pat.:) What can I bring for you?
Mary Lee....yes, she still has the schoolhouse lilies, I'll put you down. She is so happy to have something to trade this time! Also, I have tons of apple mint to that you are welcome too. It multiplies well....lol.
Can the apple mint take full sun?
Anne
Thanks Kim. I'm glad your Mom will be at the RU. It'll be good for her. Is there anything I can bring for her?
Not sure what she wants right now, I think she wants to work up an area and then decide. I know she likes red roses that smell good and likes hummers and butterflies in the garden.
Anne....my apple mint gets full sun from about 1pm on, doesn't even phase it. It hasn't even blinked at the cold, and could care less that Jasper (my dog) tramples it. Oh well, at least his feet smell good...lol.
How tall does it get?
Mine is probably about 6'' tall, more of a ground cover.
Ok, I'd like some prob. could use more than she can spare. I have a re done bed on the west side in front of the arbor that needs filling. I'm going to put climbing roses in the back and need things for the front.
Anne, if you are talking about apple mint, there is practically no limit to how much I can spare. I started with one small plant. It and the one pink obedient plant took over a large herb garden and then fought each other. The apple mint won! I have pulled it all out twice, but it has not slowed it down. It does smell wonderful, but it's a thug where I planted it.
Yea...I agree pat...same here. It has taken over! I suppose we are both trying to get rid of some!
:) Kim
silverfluter - Yes ma'am,...I do and I've put you down for some of each
Can't say why they're not multiplying under the pecan.....does a pecan put out the same hormone (I think it's jugerone or somethin' like that) as a walnut or hickory.....that dissuades other plants from growin' beneath it?
Lee
Willis, I think it's tannic acid. I vaguely remember something about that. But it maybe something else. Nothing does really well under this tree, including grass, except oxalis. Where do you have yours growing?
Patrob maybe my apple mint died because I didn't give it enough sun. I think I had it in the shade. Thanks for bringing some.
Kim, if I can get another cutting of Granny Grimmits I'll bring it for your Mom. BTW what is your Mom's name. When I see her, I don't want to call her Kim's Mom.:)
Lol...thanks Mary Lee...her name is Deb.
:) Kim
I'll send a pic of the area that I'm needing to fill when I get home.
A
Pbtxlady, would you mind bringing me about six cuttings of the oleander? They root fairly easily and I love the color of the one in the photo. I have a very pale pink one that I got one cutting of and it is about 18" tall now from an 8" cutting in October.
Thank you,
Charlene
Sure, Charlene, I can bring all you want. I'll even see if I can get some of them started.
You need to know, though, that this one is misplanted up against my house. It would like to be a tree, not a shrub. Every year I say I'm going to dig it up, and then it blooms like that, and I change my mind. :) But it needs more space than it has in the photo.
To all: I was out gardening today, and all my toad lilies are coming up. I should have some to add to my share list, if anyone would like some. What I saw today are the plain Tricyrtis hirta. I should also have at least one hybrid by April, but they aren't up yet.
silver - I've got 'em under some oak & elm trees,...in open beds and pots. They're multiplying under the trees OK.
pbtxlady - I'd like a toad lily or two if you've enough to spare! Thanks Pattie
Sheila, That link would have my name on it. I'll see if I can get Sylvia to post over here. I guess she's been busy with some web site she's working on..
Y'all just know that she's coming!
I have some oaks. I think I'll plant these under there and see if they do better. I like it when the narcissus start coming up in spring and wake everything else up.:)
You got 'em, Lee.
Thank you, ma'am! :~)
Charlene and LindaTX8, I hate to have to tell you this, but the Ragin' Cajun cuttings rotted. The mama plant has not done well in the house, so it's too small to cut again.
If I can find this plant before April, I will still bring some.
More bad news. Charlene, the little Joseph's Coat cutting didn't make it either. It started to rot in its bag, so I potted it up, and it didn't make it. I'm so sorry! I just dug up and moved the mama, and I don't even know if it will recover. But, if it does, I can try again for the fall RU.
Patti ... DG had an article on propergating Hydrangeas ... anyway you can give me a starter, I am trying hard not to buy, its so darn expensive.
Marylee I still want the Fern, what Hosta was it that you wanted? Hopefully it will show up.
Sylvia, can I pick something off of your website? I'm not sure what my choices are and I can't remember what I told you I wanted.
Sylvia.......I have been waiting for you to post so I could link you to the trade link post at the top of this thread. I used the last post above. If you want a different space lmk.

Yeah, I saw that article. Trishann asked me for one of those too, and I had to think about it. My Lady in Red is slow to come out in the spring, and I believe hydrangea cuttings take a few weeks to take. I will try, but I really, really doubt she's going to root before April 12. Y'all may have to wait till a little later in the year.
pbtxlady, that's okay! Rooting cuttings is usually iffy. A lot of mine fail.
I think I'm going to dig up a Cecile Brunner shrub. I already have a C. Brunner climber. I'd rather put something else in its place. Now if I can just DH to do the work.:) Anybody want it?
I'd love the rose, Mary Lee! Thanks, Patricia
