Cj, did I ask you for butterfly ginger? I thought I did, but maybe not. Also do you still have unclaimed lemongrass?
College Station Spring Roundup-TRADES
pbtxlady do you still have duncecap echeverias, purple coleus with green margin, and salvia gregii strawberry sundae? What can bring for you?
Charlene I just looked at your list of wants. I didn't know you wanted climbing roses. I can do cuttings of Mdm. Alfred, Cecile Brunner, Zepherine Drouhin, Joan of Arc, Buff Beauty (really good scent), New Dawn, or maybe Don Juan.
Linda do you still have cedar sage available? And also the red dragon plant? Please?:)

silver - I'll put you down for both. I looked for lemongrass seedlings today (there are always lemongrass seedlings) but I couldn't find any yet. I'll keep looking. They should show up before April 12.
Who gave me the Brown Turkey fig tree last year? At the end of the exchange... Was that you, Josephine? Just wanted to tell you that it has GROWN, and I am very excited about the prospect of getting some fruit from it. I had never tasted a fresh fig until last year. My only experience had been Fig Newtons (which I happen to like) and stewed figs (which I'm not crazy about).
Does anyone have the yellow butterfly bush (Buddleia)? I just saw a flower today, and they are beautiful. So of course, now I want one. Monkey see, monkey want.
C.J. yes it was me that gave you the fig, I am very happy that it is doing well for you, I love them too.
Thanks CJ.:)
Mary Lee, yes on both. I'll put you down for them.
Thanks Linda.:) What can I bring for you?
Frostweed, I missed out on the fig trees you brought me to the FWRU. I guess they accidentally got in someone else's pile. If you have anymore, my DH would give you a big hug for 2 of them. He is a fig lover. We bought two this fall, but I don't think we'll get very many off of two young trees. He wants to make preserves. Yes! He will make them. I don't like them!! He made pear preserves this year by himself. Well, ....and I hepped!
CJ, I think the Katie would be great. I thought it was purple. I want any other ones, I already have purple.
Charlene
Frostweed, what is the difference in Celeste figs and brown turkey? The two we bought are Celeste.
Charlene
Not a prob on the white tall Katie Ruellia.
Anne
That is if I don't die of the flu before then, sniff sniff/whine....ok I feel better now. lol
Mary Lee, if you could spare another Brazilian Plume, I'd like to try that. I knew there was something on your list I needed to look up, then forgot to ever do it, so I finally got around to checking on that.
Silverflutter - Here's a link to the TAMU aggie horticulture site - best info on anything and everything here in Texas. I don't know exactly were Fredericksburg is - close to Austin?
http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/extension/homeguide/frostspring.html
You all have so many wonderful plants - I'm going to have to go to plant files and do some serious research!
Sorry it took me so long!
I've started seeds and so far have good starts for:
Monarda - Panama Red (quite a few small seedlings) Blue eyes - Kim
Coleus - mixed (they are still very small - so don't know what colors, yet) I only had 3 that really "took" so they are staying with me!
Golden Purslane - "Goldberg" (a very healthy edible version - not the weed) http://www.johnnyseeds.com/catalog/product.aspx?scommand=search&search=purslane&item=386
Purple Budliea bush rooted starts from my two bushes - Blue Eyes - Kim
Coral Nymph salvia (have several - Willis TX, I think)
Daylily - So Lovely (3 starts - maybe more) 2 are taken
Dr. Seuss brugmansia cuttings - AJ (I'll bring a couple more)
Morning Glory - Grandpa Ott (seedlings)

Linda, I'll put your name on one. I have more than I thought I did.
Bookworm, thanks for that link. We are about 1 hour west of Austin and north of San Antonio.
Charlene, rather than try to explain the differences here is a link to a fig tree site, both are in there.
http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/extension/homefruit/fig/fig.html
As of now I don't have any figs potted, but by April there should be some to pot. I will reserve two for you.
Josephine.
silverfluter - so that looks like March 16 unless you're in that big blue blob that must be colder... Planting tom. seeds is supposed to happen 6 weeks before the last freeze, so this trade might be too late for your area. I'll do some more checking.
Josephine - if enough fig babies come up, would you put me down for one, too?
WillisTX - I'd love a redbud tree.
Been having fun reading about all your plants to trade, everyone.
Yes Bookworm I will, but please remind me about it later, so i don't forget.
Done...You have your link on the list Carla!
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=4396135
Bookworm, I may have some redbud seedlings too. They come up all over the place, but I haven't looked yet.
Silverfluter - Got you down for the Agastache & Turk's Cap! May I have some Scutellaria longifloria & the Golden Flame honeysuckle? Thanks so much!
The Honey Bee Blue Agastache were all started from seed given to me from a fellow DG member and grew easily for me, same growing conditions as any of the salvias I grow here in Willis (8a)...I've not researched it yet...that's about all I can tell you except it has a beautiful blue
flower. Should do OK in your area...(I did bring them into my greenhouse for the winter since I wasn't sure of their hardiness)
I have a few more seeds that I'm starting so I'll have more by April. ;~)
Bookworm - got you down for the Redbud tree.
Patty (pbtxlady) - I checked my "Coral Nymph" that I kept outside and I'm kinda concerned that I goofed up by doin' so...'cause several of them have split "bark"....I'm hopin' that the rootballs survived....I'll let you know as soon as I know...
edited to correct an error

Thanks Willis. I'll put your name on scutellaria and honeysuckle. I'll cut them tomorrow.:)
LindaTX8 - Linda,...if no one asks for the Anacua tree...I'd like to try raising one....but give it to someone else 1st,.. if asked.
I'd like the Tx Green Eyes..pretty please, if still available.. Thanks, Linda!
Lee
I have lots of coral nymph seedlings if anyone wants them - I'll put them on my new list!
I'd take two or three redbud trees - thanks all!
Thanks Mary Lee (Silverfluter) !
I guess I should have tried one of the Agastache outside to see if it could handle a freeze...I didn't have any problems with my Autumn Sage or Indigo Spires and other salvias...but looks like the Coral Nymph is not as hardy as the others,...remains to be seen!
Lee
bookworm28....please bring a few of the Coral Nymph's to be sure pbtxlady gets some,...and...(grin)...in case Willis killed all of his :~(
Thanks! Lee
Mary Lee, I sure do, and I will put your name on them. You understand that salvia will NOT root for me, right? At least it never has before! I'll try, but it may have to be unrooted.
By the way, after getting some help over at the coleus forum, I *think* that purple coleus is Wizard Velvet Red. Can't take much sun.
Do you still have spicy jatropha? I just drool over the jatrophas here in the spring, but haven't ever gotten one because they don't claim to be hardy here. However, now that I am a dining room brug mama, I could just slip it inside with those and the humans who feel crowded wouldn't even notice. LOL! Sneaky, aren't I?
I have a very cute little blue skullcap (have to look up the name) that I might be able to get propagated by then. Do you like those? I'd love to trade for your longifolia.
pbt I can't figure out what I asked you for. I remember asking for something. I have a good shady spot for the coleus. The blue skullcap would be great. I don't have that kind yet. I remember reading about those on some thread last year, but I can't remember what I read. I seem to be typing those words a lot lately, "I can't remember".
I'll put your name on a jatropha and a scutellaria. And yes I think jatropha will fit right in with your brug family.:)
Lee, I am sorry about your coral nymphs! I hope they come back for you!
Charlene, I'm not sure from your list, but it looks like you're looking for both Katie's Pink (dwarf) ruellia and the taller ones as well. I don't have Katie's Pink, but I have a taller one called 'Chi-chi' that I can share. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/38181/
I have Katie's pink.
Your coral nymphs should be fine Willis. Mine have come back every year so far. They even self seeded, to my great surprise. I have a path of mulch and they came up right in the middle of it, inspite of me and DH walking on it all the time.
Mary Lee....if you have another jatropha I would love one.
Kim I'll put your name on one.:)
Mary Lee, I have you down for the two echeverias, the burgundy coleus, the Strawberry Sunday salvia, and the blue skullcap. Thanks for the jatropha and scutellaria longifolia!
Yes, we had a thread last fall about all the different scutellarias. Somewhere in here is a photo of my blue one. Says it's called Blue Tonic. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/730974/
I am looking for two plants--pineapple sage, and black pearl (ornamental pepper). Does anyone who is coming to CS have them to trade?
Lee - my coral nymph salvia is in a protected area and still has blooms on the lower part of the plant. It has also reseeded to the point of being invasive, so I should have enough for anyone who wants them.
By the way - anyone reading who thinks you might want to come? If for nothing else, you should come to meet everyone and learn from their expertise! Chime in and join us even if you don't think you have much - that's fine!! My knowledge has grown so much by asking questions about plants and where and how they grow.
Pbtxlady, thank you for the Chi chi, I will love it.
CJ thank you for the Katies, it will look nice as a border around the chichi.
I thought I saw somewhere that someone had golden honeysuckle. I would like a trade of that if it is still available.
Charlene
pbtx, Gotcha covered on the pineapple sage, and the black pearl. I have the seeds for the pepper, and will get them going. The black pearl is an annual here and doesn't survive the winter. DH dug a couple up and brought them in, so when we replant them and they start their growth, I'll try to take some fresh cuttings. I'll check to see what the requirements are for that plant.
Oh.... I'd love some black pearl - seeds or cuttings, CJ. I was going to order some seeds, but will wait to hear from you.
Charlene I have gold flame honeysuckle that I can take cuttings from. I'll put your name on one.
