Sorry Suzy. I've sent a few dmails with requests. I'll try to get the rest of what I'm sending in together and shoot you a dmail.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Here's another photo I really like. It is cut flowers in a massive arrangement made for a garden party, and comprised of things that can only be grown from seed because the plants aren't available at the garden center. I saw a lot of these seeds on various lists posted here, especially on Maozamom's list: They are very easy to grow, not necessarily drough tol, but I don't think they require too much water. They do need a lot of sun.

On the left and right a the bottom are Kiss Me Over the garden gate. The other things are all Celosia -- the velvet brain are cockcombs, Celosic cristata; and the feathery ones are Celosia plumosa. A lot of the Amaranthus will give the same feathy effect as Celosia plumosa.

Hi Cat, I'm okay if You're ok :))

I just didn't want to to be left in the dust with no one to watch out for your interests.

grampapa, do you still have any of the double yellow hollyhock? If so, I would love to try them

Leesburg, FL(Zone 9b)

Suzy --

can you set aside for me

Cottage garden: Dianthus barbatus Sweet William
Malva sylvestris 'Zebrina'
Fennel Fragrant Very ferny, pretty foliage
Oenothera lamarckiana

toronto, Canada

Hi all, my package is ready to go and I thought I should do a little marketing of my own:

Most everything on my list is easy to grow annuals and perennials that flower the first year or second. I know a number of people are looking for quick color and easy things to start new beds, the gloriosa daisy, pink paeony poppies and large multi-branched Jumbo Tetra zinnias really helped me fill barren spaces quickly last year. And if you are looking for larger fillers with lots of impact I used Butterfly bushes and Datura. My white profusion butterfly bushes (wintersow) grew to almost 4'hX4'w in one season with a non stop show, and my Datura filled large areas with 3' round plants about 20" high very quickly with beautiful 6-8" white trumpets (these are very poisonous, but beautiful).

And everything else on my list is easy as well (most things can be direct sown), and there are a few tomatoes and veggies for anyone who is interested. Please pick a few things up, otherwise I will have to start posting photos to compete with Illoquin and Tcs :-))

kd -- I'll add to my Dmail.... i'm going thru your list now.

How quickly does the Butterfly Bush grow if done by seed?

toronto, Canada

tcs - I have not grown from seed, my two were purchased very late June in ~1foot high in very poor condition and grew to be great shrubs this year (4'X4'). But from all I have read they can be readily wintersown and will flower the same year. I

lloquin or others can perhaps advise further, but I for one will be wintersowing all varieties & colors I can find, I understand they come in feathered and weeping forms, and I am still searching for an "Alternate" or Fountain variety, but absolutely love the White Profusion I am growing. I will try to find some photos in the next few days. KD

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

TCS, 120 days. Wintersow and it will be in bloom in late July. Yes, I know: impossible. LOL! I had no idea until I WSd some last year they would bloom, but LeBug told me you can see the colors they are the very same year and she was right!

Suzy

Greenville, IN(Zone 6a)

Yep it only took me about a 1000 pots to put every seedling into and still didn't get any that I wanted other than the white profusion and the lavender one lol I kept all of mine in a 5" pot until they bloomed. I read where someone didn't have any butterflies on their white profusion too but I had all kinds! Beautiful butterfly bush and they get really large I tore one out that was too big for the space I had it planted and then wish I hadn't so just had to grow another.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Yes, I am afraid that either my yellow one (BB Honeycomb) doesn't have viable seeds, or they won't come true, but at least people don't have to wait 3 years to see.

Here is more information on Ana's List: Once again, post here or dmail Ana if you want these.

(A) Ipomoea Shibouri (3) This is a Japanese Morning Glory and it's on somebody's list. They are highly sought after.

(A) Star of India (1)
(A) Tagetes Mr Majestic (4) Love this! It is so unusual in bloom. I selected a photo to add to this post.

(A) Tagetes Durango (3) Anna, is this a mix?

(A) Salvia Lady in Red (1) -- WONDERFUL. Larger than the bedding annuals, this has more delicate, airier spikes of red flowers. Hummer magnet

(P) Salvia Purple Vocano (1) This is a perennial - very low growing with purple and dark purple leaves. You need to kill and remove all the seedlings that are green and the ones that aren't a lovely obsidian purple.

(P) Cephalaphora Aromatica (2) Thsi is very highly regarded. Fragrant apple scented flowers that look like yellow (not golden, just yellow) ball-like flowers on top. I believe it's an annual. To be honest, I just got the seed myself, but I have seen it on a lot of wishlists.

(A) Pelargonium grossularoides (Coconutscented geranium) (3) Ana, what color are the flowers on this? Scented geraniums are very, very wonderful on potsinthe patio. Will you save one for me, please?

(P) Aquilegia Magpie (1) This is a very cool dark, dark purple and white. Very striking with Nemophilia 'Penny Black'

(A) Rodochiton Atrosanguineum -> 1 package reserved for Diana (Wind) I'd like this one Ana :))

(A) Lunaria annua variegata Alba (2) This is variegated Money Plant. VERY CHOICE. Andinstea dof having dirty lavender flowers or teeth jarring fuschia flowers, they are a lovely white. It blooms in part shade as well as full sun. KILL off any seedlings that are not highly variegated while they are babies.

T:
Japanese Lilac Tree --> This is incredible when in bloom -- the scent is gorgeous and the flowers are white.

Buddleija davidii var. "Nanho Alba" --> a white dwarf

Helenium Mardi Gras --> Each flower is combination of red-yellow. Heleniums bloom very late in the season. Tag for Margaran if no one wants it.

Amaranthus cruentus "Intense Purple" --This has intense purple flowers but the real treat is the burgundy foliage -- IMPACT plus! Reseeding annual that enjoys the heat.

Asarina barclaiana pink/red ( 1 reserved for Suzy/ Illoquin) 1 left
Actually, I have no idea what thisis, but I had one this year I really liked and thought I'd try this.

African Daisy Osteospermum
African Marigold Tagetes erecta 'French Vanilla'
Amaryllis Hippeastrum 'Lemon and Lime'
American Beautyberry Callicarpa americana The American Beautyberry Fantastically colors bright magenta berries in Aug , I think that are an unbeliveable color. Can take some shade. Cardinals for sure, but probably other birds.
American Persimmon Diospyros virginiana KD2000
Frau S. any color or height on these?
Balloon Flower Platycodon grandiflorus 'Sentimental Blue' Great cottage plant; this is way shorter and smaller than most. seandor
Bells of Ireland Moluccella laevis
Black-eyed Susan Rudbeckia fulgida --> These bloom from June 22 to frost and make a great show. If you don't grow it and golden tyellow color fits into your garden, you should have it.
Bloody Mary Lychnis coronaria
Brazilian Bachelor's Button Centratherum intermedium
Cabbage Palm Cordyline australis very cool as a pot plant hardy to Z7 perennial. I wonder if we could use it up north as an annual?Highly bronzed foliage http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/131988/
Cape Marigold Dimorphotheca sinuata
China Aster Callistephus chinensis Commercial 'Crego Mix' common, but a fantastic large cut flower in blue-purple, dark red pink and white. Last a long time on the plant. Easy
Chinese Houses Collinsia bicolor --> these are usually lavender. I think they would be a great cottage plant.
Cockscomb (Cristata Group) Celosia argentea var. cristata (tons of seeds)
The folowing are pretty nice cottage flowers, too, but Double Click is excellent, and Seashells is somehting I want to try someday. Cull the smallest flowered plants when they bloom to keep the strains all nice and pretty.
Common Cosmos bipinnatus 'Daydream'
Common Cosmos bipinnatus 'Double Click'
Common Cosmos bipinnatus 'Early Sensation'
Common Cosmos bipinnatus 'Seashells' seandor

Dusty Miller Senecio bicolor subsp. cineraria 'Silver Dust' LeBug
Dwarf Nasturtium Tropaeolum minus 'Jewel Mix' Excellent in pots, especially with red geranium as they all prefer to be on the drier side. Of course it's pretty on the border because the foliage is so awesome -- flowers ain't half bad, either!
Eastern Bluestar Amsonia tabernaemontana --> tag for Wind if no one else asks for it. I have a little pack also for her. Or was there somebody else who asked for this?
Eastern Redbud Cercis canadensis ->> tag for Pamsue if no one else wants it.

Eulalia Miscanthus sinensis 'Zebrinus' --> http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/51711/
Floss Flower Ageratum houstonianum 'Blue Mink'
All Four O'clocks open in the afternoon and then close by about noon the following day, but their closed flowers are also highly colored. Dave as in Dave from Dve's Garden, tells us that they kill Japanese Beetles, so for that reason alone, we need to grow them in the midwest!
Four O'Clock Mirabilis jalapa - lots of yellow and just a few of fuschia
Four O'Clock Mirabilis jalapa 'Alba' These are great on the patio because they are fragrant and also because the white flowers really gleam at dusk, at night.
Four O'Clock Mirabilis jalapa 'Red Glow'
Four O'Clock Mirabilis jalapa 'Teatime'
French Marigold Tagetes patula 'Queen Sophia' This is the most famous marigold in the world; I htink it was around when my mom was little. (Not really, but it's very old. There is a nice write up of it in the annuals forum)

Pincushion Flower Scabiosa columbaria 'Butterfly Blue' LeBug
Pink Musk Mallow Malva moschata 'Rosea'
Portulaca 'Sundial Mix' -- very drought resistant and bloom all summer. I think Sundials are the best variety on the market. I grew these for years, and at the end of the year, you can pull up the plants by color, and shake them against a garbage can lid where you want them for next year. For instance, I have some bright pink roses, so I took the bright pink plants and scattered the seeds around the rose, and shore enough, they all bloomed bright pink under the bright pink rose.

It also looks nice as a spikey thing in a mixed container.
Yellow Elder Tecoma stans 'Gold Star' A lot of Texanshave this in pots on their walks/porches because it can take the Texas heat & sun.

Scottsburg, IN(Zone 6a)

Hi everyone, I finally got caught up with everything here and got my seeds sorted and list updated. Here is my list of things I have, followed by what I'd like. For those of you who have the seeds I'd like, I'm going to send you a separate dmail with my list as some of yours may be gone (I've just read the list from the top...).

My "have" list is alpha by latin (with source) until it gets to the seeds I self-gathered, then my alpha list sort of disintegrates - sorry!! Some of the seeds are from a couple shipments I JUST GOT IN, so they are seeds for this coming season (date noted with the source). All my self-gathered (other than the Cup Plant) are on my Trade List as well.

SEEDS I HAVE (10-15 each; I’m Z5b, all self-gathered are from my yard)
