GREAT, I am gonna share it now, thanks! :)
Stop and visit, talk all you want Pt 4
back for a minute, waiting on my daughter to get here....my 15yr. old son took my car back in April for a spin while hubby and I were out fishing. well, he THOUGHT he could make it drift, like in the movies, he came around the corner at about 50mph and hit the curb. after having to replace the steering knuckle, control arm, ball joints, sway bar, axel, wheel bearing hub assembly, rim & tire, strut, strut plate, abs sensor, abs wiring harness, brake rotor, brake pads, transmission shift solenoids, rear trailing arm assembly, rear hub assembly..over $4000.00..i know it would have been easier to say needed new front and rear ends.....i did get my car repaired but needless to say,if my son EVER wants a driving permit, he will be doing it on his own after he turns 18.........
Yikes!! My son only took mine about 1/4 of a mile but what you described is what we have been trying to get him to understand oculd of happened. I think I will let him read your post this weekend. are you making him pay for the damage?
as soon as he is allowed to get a job, yes. they passed a new law here that teens have to be 16 before they are elligible for employment. since he didn't already have a job, he has to wait until january. he was not hurt, except for his ego, which is a good thing but i often wonder if he had been even the slightest bit injured if it would make an even larger impact. don't get me wrong, i would NEVER wish harm to my children. the monday after thanksgiving, he was playing with a hunting knife and his hand slipped almost cutting two fingers off. WHY DO TEENS THINK THEY ARE INVINCIBLE??? sorry to yell, but could someone please answer this question for me? he had surgery on the 4th to try to repair his hand. we go back on the 18th to get the cast off. he may never regain the use of the fingers that were cut......how's that for a year in the life??? oh, and feel free to share this all you want, if only one teen can learn from my sons misgivings,i will be happy and know that it did not happen for no reason.
Sounds like he and my son have something in common. TEEN STUPIDITY!!!!!! Sorry I love my son to death but last year he shot himself in the hand with a bb gun. We had to do the surgery thing too. Oh and when he was 12 he decided he wanted to try and start a small fire (showinfg off for a friend). He succeeded and then while trying to run over to put the fire out he slid across our smooth patio and hit a stepping stone with his eye. That resulted in loss of his lense and a cornea transplant and a lifetime of having to follow up on his cornea transplant.
are you sure they aren't brothers?LOL.........they would get along great
WOW, I am thinking you alls sons must have a connection hidden in there somewhere!
misty, don't let your kids read this....they don't need to have these ideas put in thier heads!!LOL
your right tho, i think they must be related in some way.....they are very much alike
my daughter is ready to go now. she has an appt. with the doc. they think she might have digestinal diabetes. she is 7 months pregnant and her last checkup showed a high blood sugar level. will check in later.
Good morning!
Slept in and it feels great! 25º and sunny. We had a dusting of snow last night and it's very pretty.
Been catching up with you all. What a bunch your kids are! LOL And how aweful about the truck! When I was 15, mom had me run to the grocery store. It had snowed quite heavily a few days before and there was LOTS of it in big piles everywhere. Well, I thought it would be nice to just run through a local park for a minute 'cuz I didn't want to go home yet. The park is 4 sq. blocks and has a road that runs in a circle around the inside. I was finished with my run through and was making the turn to go to the street when I hit some ice . Going WAY too fast. I slid sideways onto the curb that separated the two-way street. There I was, stradling the curb, 10 minutes late getting home, 15 years old, and stuck! LOL The curb was about 1 foot high, no way was that Pinto coming off that curb!
I cught a big break that day though. A two truck driver saw me stuck and came in and got the car off the curb. I went home and told mom the lines were long at the store. A few days later she told me the Pinto needed some work on the front end because she had apparently hit something and through the alignment all off and it also needed some others things done. I confessed and she got the work on the car done and I helped her pay for it. Boy, did I pay! LOL
Anyway, thoughts still with you Tammy!
Y'all have been busy this morning! Don't have time to go all the posts right now but I did want to tell Misty that I am dmailing you a pumpkin pie recipe which another DGer who is a good cook damailed me. She says this recipe is guaranteed to please. BBL
No worries, I won't let the kids read ANY of it! LOL I hope your daughter doesn't have the diabetes, and I hope she does ok with drinking that YUCKY stuff!
Oh the stories ALL of us could tell! LOL
Got the recipe and it sounds soooooooooo yummy! :)
Many thanks for all the thoughts and prayers! :)
Hey, Tammy! I've been telling to girls at work about your MIL and they want you to know they're thinking of her too!
I have to leave but I still have a few minutes.
Thanks Kwanjin! I just got off the phone with the neighbors landlord over the BOOM BOOM BOOM! I actually got to talk to him this time. He told me that he can only do so much, and that last time they told him that they didn't feel like they were being unreasonable! BULL HOCKEY! I have been sitting here listening to it, and even the landlord told them that I would call the cops again, but they do NOT care! I told him I was going to file a formal complaint soon if it didn't stop and he told me not to wait, just do it! He is coming down to talk to them about it since he lives just up the road. I told him I did not care if they knew it was me! Of course, now they turned it down BEFORE we got off the phone!
Anyway, on a neat note, I think we are about to get puppies! I keep moving her from a box with some stuff on it and she turns right back around and gets back up on it! I squeezed one of her nipples this morning and got milk, and when I just picked her up to move her I got some on my fingers. I can hardly wait! :)
Yeah, puppies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your neighbors will get a rude awakening when they get slapped with a lawsuit! You have rights. One of them is quiet. You do have recourse as far as the law is concerned. Can you tape the noise? Get them on tape. Film your house with the noise coming into your house.
The landlord can get into more trouble than they can but they don't need to know that. He'll evict them before that happens.
I never thought of that! We do have a camcorder that I could hook up in her room and try that. They don't do a lot in our stupid little town, though. They did absolutely nothing with the formal complaint about the dogs, and when I called they would ask if I wanted to file a complaint, and I tell them I already did and there is NOTHING being done about it! They shut up real quick and say we will send someone over! But those people moved their dogs to the front for some reason, but I donno what caused it. The landlord did tell me that he was waiting on the neighbors to pay the rest of their rent, so MAYBE they won't be able to keep paying and have to move! I know, I am a terrible neighbor, but what's a person to do??!!
Do you know how much longer I MIGHT have before I get puppies? I posted on the Pet Forum hoping to get some answers, but I know all my friends here might be able to help, too! :)
And I bet you he knows that, too, and hopes I don't! He is a good guy, young, but I think he is much smarter than they are! LOL
BUT, for them not to listen to him, I wander what he thinks about that???? I am quite sure he does NOT appreciate it!
If you are getting colostrum, it should only be a couple of days, I would think. Maybe a week but probably not.
Make sure the neighbors can't see the camera.
I REALLY have to run now or I'll be late! LOL
Let me know what happens.
Celia
I will let you know when we have puppies! But lets hope and pray that we don't have to end up at the Vets office!
Sure hope you aren't late! :)
She is trying to lose her plug right now, this is so exciting! And she is being so calm for her first litter! :)
I want one Tammy :)) I love pugs, I want one so bad LOL
you guys have been busy, and I can't catch up right now, been XMas shopping and I'm meeting Mike in a bit to hopefully finish (at least for the most part)
Will try to post later
Hugs
Janis
We have a beautiful black baby girl! Actually they are Puddles (my name for them) A cross between Pug and Min. Poodle. I didn't get Daddy's papers since I got him for free, so I can't register them. If they were registrable they would be called Pug-A-Poos. Will have to get Shaun to get Mr. Photo back on puter so I can post pics! This is so exciting!!!

Ok, here is the update: We also have a beautiful baby boy that was immediately named Tuxedo by a friend that was here while she was giving birth. He is black with white on his feet, chest, and chin. But, on a sad note, 5 1/2 hours later she had another beautiful baby boy and he didn't make it. This is our first litter so I am taking it pretty hard. I worked with him for about an hour, but Mommy worked a little too hard to get the sack cleaned off and injured his umbilical chord. He also had labored breathing, which I am assuming had to do with blood loss, or the length of time it took for him to be born past the others. He was colored differently than the first two, he was black and tan with some white markings. I am pretty sure she is done now as her sides are sunken. It is so nasty outside that I can't bring myself to put him out there, even though I know he is gone. Anyway, we will enjoy the two that we have and remember to be close when she has her next litter so we can watch to be sure she isn't too rough.
So exciting! I wanna see puppies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Two to care for. What a present for Christmas! LOL What did you name the girl?
And I was not late for work.
We haven't named her yet, and ideas? We like really odd names! The mommy's name is Freesia, Daddy is Gizer after the energizer bunny, we have a cat named Ver, and one named Mai Ling. And of course, Miss Maggie, although we didn't name her.
Glad you wasn't late for work!
Is she all black or B/W?
Miss Puddle?
mommy is black with some white markings. believe baby girl is solid black. And, Gizer is white, Mai Ling is white, and Ver is black! LOL
Miss Puddle is cute!
Think I am gonna try to get some sleep while they are quiet! Been a long and stressful day! Have a great night!
(((((((((HUGS)))))))
(((((((((((((((((((Hugging back!))))))))))))))))))) Glad you have the two new little ones to care for!
Sleep well!
SLEEP What is that???!!! OMG to be a MOMMY, or shall I say, GRANDMOMMY, oh I am TIRED! She isn't being a very good Mommy! They woke me up at about 3 balling their heads off, looked all over the house and she ended up being all the way upstairs SLEEPING on my sons bed! ARGGGGGGGGGGGG
I have had a few shut-eyes since a little after 1:00, so I am gonna end up a GROUCH! LOL
Congratulations oon the neww puppies. I love being around when they are born. We had a dog that gave us 11 puppies it took her something like 12 hours to deliver them all!!
Congratulations, Misty, on the new babies. Looking forward to photos soon!
Oh,and take it from one who knows: ALL teens think they are immortal. That attitude got my oldest killed in a motorcycle accident when he was 19. It was his third wreck--the Lord was merciful the first two times but the third one took him out. However, the Lord was merciful then, too, because he had serious brain damage even though he was wearing a helmet. It's possible he would have been a "vegetable" the rest of his life had he survived. That was in 1981 and I still miss him greatly. There is no such thing as "closure" when you lose a child. Down here where I live there are "Memorials" (Crosses and flowers) all along the highways where people have been killed. We have an intersection here that was especially dangerous and 3 teen girls lost their lives there one day after school. Now there is a stop light but it came too late for those girls. Why do the authorities always wait until AFTER a bad accident with loss of life before doing anything about it? Anyway, I am not 'fishing' for sympathy. I just told you all of this to make you realize that somehow, some way you simply MUST make your teens realize that they are NOT immortal and that they need to think before they act. If there is a program in your area that shows videos and/or photos of real accidents that have caused loss of life, you should make sure your teen sees them. It might make them realize that the same thing could happen to them.
Misty congrats on the babies! Sorry you lost one :(
Marsue, you are so right. My 17 yr old is still stupid about things, even though he had an accident on a motorcycle that would have killed him if he hadn't been wearing his helmet. He was so lucky. He hit his head off a guard rail post hard enough to fracture his skull through the helmet. If he hadn't had his helmet on, he wouldn't have made it. As it was he had a fractured skull and some pretty bad road rash on one shoulder. But, he doesn't get on the bike without his helmet now, so I guess he learned at least a little something. He talks about how close he came to now wearing his helmet that day, and how lucky he is that he did, so maybe....
Shopped most of the day yesterday. I think we're done, except for the dirt bike and possibly 4 wheelers. We have to get the dirt bike, but the ATV's for the girls might wait until spring. Have to get his helmet and goggles and gloves and stuff, have his pants and jersey. Some little stuff for stockings, and we're done. Toys R US had all their Crayola crayons and markers but 1 get 2 free yesterday, so my kids are set of crayons and stuff for a while!
We are supposed to get hammered here in a couple hours with rain, sleet, freezing rain, and/or snow. Its gonna be a mess. If Jeff comes and gets the kids I hope to run to my sisters real quick but then I'm coming back home to hide uti it clears up LOL We are under a sever winter storm watch until tomorrow night. Maybe I can wrap some presents while the kids are gone (if they go, Jeff said he isn't taking them if its bad).
I'll check back in later, I know I missed a bunch of stuff, I"ll try to catch up
Hugs,
Janis
