I feel for you, girl! Weekends are the worst. We counted 15 cars there one night. They park all over and even across the sidewalk.
The best day ever was when I came home from work one night. About 2 and 1/2 weeks ago this was. I drove around the corner to see that Cobra with it's hood up and a HUGE amount of black smoke coming from the engine compartment! YIPPE!!! I could not resist a rebel yell as I passed by him and into my driveway. He heard me too! We haven't seen it since.
Stop and visit, talk all you want Pt 4
OMG ROTFL! Mondays are worst here for them since it is their day off together. When growing up I HATED living in the boonies, what I wouldn't give for that now!
I grew up with a mustard colored Road Runner next door. I don't think it ever had a muffler (maybe it did, just didn't sound like it) and it started up every morning for the lady to go to work. Now it is actually a fond memory.
Oh to be a kid again! LOL
I'm still a big kid! But a mature big kid! LOL
Gotta go to work. I'll talk to you all tonight.
Be careful and have a great one! :)
Hey, Beth, did that RoadRunner go "Beep-beep" before it took off? (sorry, couldn't resist that)
Beautiful children you have there, Lynda!
Welcome back, Marcy. Glad you had a good time. Talk to you later tonight, hopefully.
Nah, it just rumbled and shook my bedroom...
Hi again!
First off, let me say I read all the posts....but probably not everything stuck in my mind...lol!! Great pictures!
We used to have noisy neighbors too....how I hated that. Some people just have no respect for others. Now we live in the country with about 1/2 mile between us and the neighbors...yayyy. I like my neighbors...they like us ( i think!) But I'm glad they're not close!
We had a wonderful time at my DB's party. We all met at a restaurant named LuiLui's...right in the heart of Ohio University shopping. Then my SIL brought my DB and he was so surprised!!
I had stuffed crab for my meal. It was great! Then I also had a piece of Bailey's cheesecake. OMGosh...it was to die for!! But I couldn't eat it all. Had to give the rest to my nephew!
We stayed the night at my DB's house...and came home on Sunday in the daylight and pouring rain and fog! Then we just collapsed last night and went to bed early. It was so much fun!!
Thank you all for welcome back!! :))
Hi all, we are having major computer difficulties, so wanted to stop in while it is working. Hope he can fix it soon or I will have DG withdrawls! LOL
Home now. It's very cold outside and little icy. Going to turn in. Goodnight Mrs. Calabash, wherever you are!
Morning all :) Tori got a rude birthday present this morning, she walked out the door to go to school, slipped in the mud and landed on her behind in the mud :(( So we had to change her jeans, coat and gloves, but we still made it to the bus stop on time. Which is why I push to be out the door at 8:00 and not 8:05. It gives us just a tiny bit of breathing room in case something goes wrong. LOL
I wasn't very talkative yesterday, just a blah day for me I guess. I had stuff to do in the AM, didn't get back until after noon, and my whole day was shot. Had to run to town after the kids got home and Tori got car sick (in the lobby at McDonalds yuck )so there went my evening. Her coat ought to be clean, as its been washed 2x in less than 24 hours LOL
Really need to get some house work done today, got people coming over tonight for cake and ice cream, got Jeff's Christmas program at school at 2 this afternoon, and then bringing the kids home instead of going to the bus stop. Got about a bazillion phone calls to make, the normal stuff I guess.
Its 37 and raining here today, wasn't so so cold though which is a good thing, right? The snow from last week is pretty much all melted now, but we have mud everywhere.
Talk to ya'll soon!!
Hugs,
Janis
More fog this morning but temp is supposed to be in the 60's today. At least we are not experiencing the terrible ice storm like those in the mid-west.
Sounds like your DB had a good birthday indeed, Marcy, and the friends and relatives enjoyed it right along with him. That cheesecake sounds tempting!
Janis, you certainly have a busy day ahead of you. Take time to breathe every so often LOL
DH and I need to get out, fog or no, and get the rest of our bulbs planted today. Rain is coming in tonight and tomorrow, plus colder weather. I'm still sore from all the bending and stooping I did on Sunday afternoon while planting the other bulbs.
Everybody have a good day! I'll check back later this evening.
Good morning everyone.
Wow Janis, sounds like you had a day yesterday! And another big one today. Keep warm and dry if you can! Rain here today too, but supposed to be in the high 50's!! I'll take it!! Like you...most of our snow is gone....and that's ok by me!
Marsue....I hope you get those bulbs planted today....and aren't too awfully sore tomorrow. Just think how pretty they will look this spring! I can't wait to see pictures!!
Misty...hope you got the computer fixed? And Kwaj....hope your day is good too.
Not sure what I am getting into today? Hubby has to work at the store, so will have time to myself. Have some pants to hem (how I hate that!)...should bake some cookies? For some reason, I just can't seem to get into the holidays this year very much. Shame on me!
Well..you all have a good day. I'll be back later on.
Good morning, everyone!
The sun came out! Supposed to be a whopping 25º today.
Misty, hope you 'puter gets fixed. We'll miss you!
Marsue, good luck with those bulbs and we're looking forward to the spring pics.
Janis, too funny about the butt-plant! LOL But, she's okay to go to school after being sick?
Marcy, glad you had good time. And what kind of cookies? I'm going to be baking this weekend. Almond crescents, sugar cookies and something else. I need ideas.
There's an update on the job. I had a short phone interview with the big boss yesterday. He seemed pleased with my answers and I think it went well. My boss and I are of teh opinion they will not announce a decision until after the holidays. NOBODY should be thrown into a managers position just before Christmas. That would just be RUDE! LOL
Anyway, I'll be around for 3 more hours and then it's off to work.
Hey all :)
Believe it or not its 51degrees here now :)) Can't beat that in December, huh?
Marcy glad you got to make your trip and got back safely!
Misty get that puter fixed!!
Kwan, all my Xmas cookie recipes disappeared, but my mom is copying them for me, I'll see what I have when she gets done. My favorite to make for the kids came out of an old copy of highlight's magazine from when I was a kid, they are called "Holly Cookies" and are basically just rice crispy treats but you use corn flakes instead of the rice crispies! Oh and lots of green food coloring. We shape them into wreaths, and use red hots for the holly "berries". The kids love to help make them.
And Tori just gets car sick so no need for her to miss school today. Its just something we deal with. Although I wish she had given me some warning, as I"m sure the people eating at McDonald's didn't appreciate her throwing up in the lobby LOL
I gotta leave ib an hour to go to the school, then bringing the kids home for cake and ice cream, will try to get some pics :)
Janis
Yes, do! Lots of pics.
When DD was little, she and Grandma and I were out shopping. We had stopped and gotten corndogs. From the backseat we hear, "Mommy, I don't feel good." I had time to say, "We'll be home in..." and it was all over.
Tori used to tell me her mouth felt funny, then she would be sick. She hasn't told me that in a long time. I told her yesterday to please give me at least a little bit of warning :) Here are birthday cake pics from Sarah and Jeff's birthdays... they both wanted Scooby-Doo. Tori is getting Belle (from Beauty and the Beast). A friend makes the cakes for us.
Those are cute! I love Scooby too.
DH just sent me this. I have to share...
*Pedro & His Girl*
One beautiful December evening Pedro and his girlfriend Rosita
were sitting by the side of the ocean.
It was a romantic full moon, when Pedro said, "Hey, mamacita,
let's do Weeweechu."
"Oh no, not now, let's look at the moon!" said Rosita.
Oh, c'mon baby, let's you and I do Weeweechu. I love you and
it's the perfect time," Pedro begged.
"But I wanna just hold your hand and watch the moon." replied
Rosita.
"Please, corazoncito, just once, do Weeweechu with me."
Rosita looked at Pedro and said, "OK, one time, we'll do
Weeweechu."
Pedro grabbed his guitar and they both sang...
"Weeweechu a Merry Christmas,
Weeweechu a Merry Christmas,
Weeweechu a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year."
**MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!**
LOL that is too funny. Do you mind if I send it to some family members?
Go for it! I thought it was hilarious!
Thanks I just sent it to a whole bunch of family and friends!! I agree with you hilarious!!
There was another one that was very slightly risque. Want it?
Yep
the cakes look great!
better that they are in your house and not mine :-)
long couple of days figuring out how puppies fit in the mix....they are funny and gradually getting to know the big dogs
the little boy pup's name is festus from gunsmoke...very fitting
i change some meds tonight (swap one to morning, add meds for restless leg syndrome) and not looking forward to it....i always want to make sure i will be up and awake for the getting ready to school routine
have to get new tires for one car
my older car is getting donated this week so have to clean that out
other car needs to be registered & i can't find my license (again)
hope everything is settling down to a nice evening for everyone
there were actually some blue skies today & it's light jacket weather for another day or so....i guess it's a new normal for weather :-)
Larilienda....can I ask what med you are taking for the RLS? I have had that all my life, and as I get older..it gets worse.
My doctor is having me take Vicodin for it. He said it would be better for me to take that than one of the newer ones specifically for RLS. It does help, but was just wondering.
The cakes look wonderful Janis!! Kids love to open presents, don't they!!!
The cakes are so cute, Janis. Do all your kids have birthdays at the same time or did I miss something in one of the posts up there?
Good luck with the change in meds, Lynda.
DH and I got the rest of our bulbs planted--in the fog (but he has been on the heating pad ever since we got home from the airport--back pain). However the sun came out for a while this afternoon while we were on the way home from picking up our friend at the airport. but there is rain forecast for tonight and it is cloudy again. It got up to about 73 F today. colder tomorrow. :o(
crazy weather everywhere, it seems
Hope all are well! Working with the old Windows 98 Dell right now since the other has gone to PC Heaven for the time being! It is SLOW SLOW SLOW!!!
Marilyn, my kids birthday's are all grouped up at the end of the year. September 17, October 17, November 28, and December 11!!! And then my niece and nephew on the 23 of Dec.
Lynda, so sorry about the RLS. I have it occasionally, but not often enough for medication. I just cannot sleep at night. I have to take Lunesta. If I don't take it, I lay awake, and have stayed awake for almost 48 hours without it. I don't even try to sleep without it now.
Kwan, loved that joke, dmail me the other one please???
Marilyn, tell Buddy to get better!!!
Marcy, Tori loves to open presents, I guess they all do as we have to drag the other kids away from them LOL
Misty, what happened to the other PC??
Believe it or not, its 62 degrees here now!! Will be back later, still have company!!
Hugs,
Janis
Not real sure, but a friend says he can fix it. Cross your fingers, PLEASE, cause this thing is awful! LOL
the medicine is requip....there's a two week building up period with tonight the first...hate taking new meds when i don't know what to expect with my reaction....hopefully my husband will be home soon so i can take it a little earlier tonight
lynda
Thanks Lynda. Please keep us informed at to how it works for you.
Marilyn, glad you got those bulbs in. We had a temp of 61* here today....hard to believe!! It felt like spring!!
Misty sure hope he can fix it for you.
Janis, my grandkids sure do love to open gifts too!! Especially the 4 yr old boy.
Well, I didn't get a lot done today. No baking. :( I was looking through some papers, straightening up....and all of a sudden I saw our electric bill. I thought to myself, now why did we get that in the middle of the month????? Duhhhhh....guess who forgot about paying bills on the first of the month????? I was so upset, I just sat down and cried! I have NEVER done that before. Plus I was TWO months behind on reconciling bank statements. Thank goodness they balanced. I told Dave he will have to help me remember after this.!! I sure didn't like that!
This is like going back to having 56k! And we have the highest high speed internet that our provider offers! :(
Oh Marcy, that sucks!!! I have done that before too..... hopefully everything works out for you.
Was quiet in here last night, where is everyone??
It was quiet. What happened? It only took me a few minutes to check up on everyone.
28º and sunny. When I went outside, it felt good on my skin.
Glad you're back, Misty! Sorry about the computer. You'll appreciate it more when it gets fixed.
Okay, here's the joke...
First Christmas Joke of the Season
Three men died on Christmas Eve and were met by Saint Peter at the pearly gates.
"In honor of this holy season" Saint Peter said,"You must each possess something that symbolizes Christmas to get into heaven."
The first man fumbled through his pockets and pulled out a lighter. He flicked it on. "It represents a candle", he said.
"You may pass through the pearly gates" Saint Peter said.
The second man reached into his pocket and pulled out a set of keys. He shook them and said, "They're bells."
Saint Peter said "You may pass through the pearly gates".
The third man started searching desperately through his pockets and finally pulled out a pair of women's panties.
St. Peter looked at the man with a raised eyebrow and asked, "And just what do those symbolize?"
The man replied, "These are Carols."
And So The Christmas Season Begins......
Too funny!!
