Lovely, Harper, but I didn't take it and I don't know who did; it just came up on google images search for dirty snow! xxx, Carrie ;>)
Snow Photos!!
Carrie, not sure I have any pics, but feel free to use any!
Al, it looks like he's fishing in a parking lot.
Sorry, I have been away for a while - the pictures are lovely - especially the cardinal and the hawk (falcon?)
Victor - are your boys currently suffering from earaches? What a worry that must be for you . . .
No Michaela. Thankfully they're fine now. Thanks. They have had them many times though. Normally they are carriers of pain and I am the recipient.
Al - no dirty snowman pics!
Neither of my girls had earaches, but my DH remembers having chronic earaches as a child. Apparently they are quite painful.
Oh ho yes, they are painful until you get the right antibiotic into the kid for the right length of time! Did anyone keep track of those stunning snow pine tree pix Pixie had last year? x, C
Stunning snow pictures always seem more stunning in the heat of the summer. Right now, I have already seen enough snow to last for the season . . . no offence pixie
No no I NEED them, Michaela. I don't enjoy looking at them anymore either. xx, C
You need them? Is this for a project? Sorry if I seem clueless, but it's only been the last couple of days that I have been in the land of the living - the last three months are mostly a blur.
That is stunning.
I can only contribute snow photo's we took a couple weeks ago while in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho:
Not real clear - that is a bald eagle soaring.....they come in for a few weeks when the salmon start spawning in early December...stay for a New Years party and then leave!
The way our weather is going we may get snow in January again this year though!
Yuck, Al! Great shot bebop and nice eagle, mrsj!
Thanks, Al, they look pretty much like MY dirty snow pictures. Hard to really understand the gravitas of the dirty snow situation with no context. I think I will end up using this one, although I do like your #4. Michaela, I (as well as Cat and Victor and Debbie and Jan and probably more, because, as usually, the best minds are on the NorthEast Forum) am writing an article for DG for which i need yucky photos. 'K?
I don't think I have any yuky snow photos, but ask me again in March/April. I can almost guarantee it!!
Bebop - is that "the gorge" in Ithaca? The one where people used to (and maybe still do) commit suicide? I went to Ithaca college for 4 years and we went by the famous gorge on our way in and out of Ithaca. Eleanor
Eleanor, that's the one. They have rebuilt the pedestrian suspension bridge with high metal railing since but it still happens. How awful that these kids feel that kind of pressure. I was there yesterday and took these pics. Here is a picture of the suspension bridge and the next one is taken from the suspension bridge of the bridge for cars over Fall Creek gorge. (I posted these to the Photos Forum last night).
Nice pics Eleanor. It is pretty when it's all fresh, but I think we have had enough for this year!
pixie - I've got some really bad news for you!!!! I hope you're sitting down cause it "ain't" over with yet!! I'm afraid it's just begun and there will be plenty more snow! (unless something weird happens to our weather) At least my DD#1 will be happy about the snow cause she loves to ski. I guess that's why snow doesn't bother me too much. I live in the foothills to Adirondacks and everyone (except me) loves to ski and spends $$$ on their season ski passes and wants to get their money's worth. I can't ski - I promised my phys ed instructor in college that I would never get on skiis again. If I made that promise he would give me a D to pass the class!! The only D I ever got but I guess it's better than an F. It gave my father many years of happiness and laughter though!! Eleanor
Eleanor:
Out of all of the photos you posted this morning, I fell in LOVE with the first one. I immediately said "ahhhh" when I saw it come up on my screen. THAT'S a keeper, for sure!
Oh I know Eleanor..it's still snowing here. I'm begining to wonder if it will ever stop, and when it melts it will be very messy! Flood & Mud Messy!!!!!!
Still snowing here as well. Another two-hour delay for the kiddos today, even though there's barely two inches on the ground.
Eleanor, so lovely! One of the perks we really appreciate with retirement is being able to enjoy this beauty instead of battling it every morning going to work.
