Beautiful pictures - really enjoyed the sunrise!
Snow Photos!!
I love your snow pup, Candyce! Beautiful sunrise, and the cardinal in the snow is just striking. We had a family of cardinals late this past summer in a nest in our lilac tree and I now have such a respect for male cardinals after watching them care for and train the babies. I'm not a birder- not sure if all birds handle it the same way, but it was wonderful to watch.
What a miserable day here today in Maine...sooo cold, and all the pretty snow got iced over making it really hard for my dogs to get around on.
mgarr ~ beautiful, striking photo
Noreaster ~ pups on ice are very comical!!!
All of the pics are just beautiful. I was going to take a pic after the storm today but didn't get a chance - my little one went from an ear infection to strep throat. eleanor
Sorry Eleanor!
So sorry to hear that Eleanor, hope the little one feels better before Christmas. When my youngest DD was 4 she woke up on Christmas morning with a fever and chicken pox! I felt so bad for her, she was miserable and really didn't care what Santa had brought her. I never forgot it and I don't think she did either.
Both my boys had chronic ear infections. Not fun.
Poor little Colin! I hope he's better today.
grammyphoeb, I just moved to pensacola from saugerties thanks for the shots of the hundson...
Jan that is an absolutely beautiful shot! Bebop2. I love how the Cardinal just 'pops' in your pic!
Eleanor, I hope your little one gets better soon. Strep throat and ear infections are no fun; I always hated it when the kids were sick, always felt like you couldn't do enough for them. When my son was 18 mos he came down with a bronchial infection, the dr's gave him penicillin which turns out he was allergic to(broke out in hives) then over a week later, he came down with chicken pox. I took pics of him and to this day I can't believe how covered that poor kid was in red bumps.
My mother was a carrier of strep throat. I kept getting it and getting it and getting it. Fever of 104 - I can remember that well. Put me on penicillian shots in the buttocks for 3 months, two times! Of course that was years and years ago. They could not pin point why I kept getting it until my mother and father was tested. Mother had to get shot so I would not get it.
Oh schickenlady, ouch! I'm glad that the dr found out what the cause was so you stopped getting it.
I came inside from feeding the birds and looked out my slider that leads out to the back deck. There were three eastern bluebirds getting a drink off the patio table were the ice is starting to melt. By the time I grabbed the camera two had flown off but I got this guy! I would have thought they would be further south in this weather.
Thanks everyone for thinking about Colin and wishing him well. I think he did feel better today but his temperment was not great!! His mother should be arriving home shortly from Baltimore. DD#1 took Colin home around 6:30 so he would be there when his mother got home. Pensacola - glad you liked the shots of the Hudson!! I tried to get a shot of the sunrise this morning - it was very red but the pic came out pink!! Again the water in the background is the Hudson and to the left is my neighbor's yard. Eleanor
Oh yes I did any other pictures that you have of the area i would love to see them...
I love that area during the summer but not in the Winter any longer...
Today it was actually sunny for a while. Here is a view along our road.
Very nice Anita. We all seem to like cardinals and snow together!
Beautiful pics everyone!! Yes, cardinals and snow seem to go together. They show up so nicely against the white of the snow! Eleanor
As I mentioned before, or at least MEANT to mention, may I please have the permission of the photographers on this thread to use their photos in an upcoming article on the difference between picturesque snow and ugly snow? your intrepid reporter, xxxx, Carrie
You may use any of my snow photos that you would like Carrie and good luck!
Sure Carrie - did you need more ugly snow - I have that.
Like the bird pics Neter.
Do you really Al? It's hard a) to pull over while driving down a street which is fifteen feet narrower than usual too take a pic out the window of the diesel/snow/crud on the ground without getting rear-ended and b)as you might have realized, I am not the garden's greatest photographer-- I'll take any gear gross snow ones you got. There a few - say if you google images dirty snow there's a good one - but it's not mine to use. x, Carrie
I'm heading out with the dog again so I'll get a few for you.
Al!
No - not yellow ones, although I did once send a pic of the other kind to someone once.LOL
:>) Thanks. xx, Carrie
Last year I sent my BIL a dog poop calendar. Yup, each page had a beautiful scene with fresh dog poop right in front. He loved it!
I think that must be the entry level of pro photography.
Carrie, that shot looks like a mountain range dotted with trees and puffy, white clouds.
