Snow Photos!!

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

"Oh, the weather outside is frightful,
But the fire is so delightful,
And since we've no place to go,
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!"

Post your snow pics here! Some really great photos have already been taken this year. A couple of you have mentioned a new thread for our winter landscapes and I think it would be a great idea since the Northeast fall color and blooms are gone for this year! So get your cameras out after those Noreasters or whatever comes your way and let the snow (I mean show) begin!! Eleanor

(I haven't taken any photos of snow scenes yet this year so here is one from last year)

Sooooooooo pretty!!! I love snow pictures I just don't care much for snow. However last night was such a mild night so we took the kids for a nice long walk and pulled them in their sled....it was nice!!!

Tree's covered in snow are so pretty, from inside the house!

BTW, my DS planted this tree when he was 3, he's 20 now and very proud of 'his' tree.

That is a gorgeous tree! We had enough snow that I could try out my crooked snow shovel. Hmm - don't know if I like it - or not. Anyway I have apple butter simmering in the crock pot and cats toasting on the wall radiator, so life is good.

Yank, I meant to answer you about Romeo, no spots on his belly. He has stripes that are perfectly symmetrical, I know cause I traced them completely around from back to belly! LOL
He's a 5 yr. old Tabby that was a Mother's day gift from my DD.

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

Pixie - I'm glad you explained who Romeo was!! LOL Eleanor

p.s. - beautiful tree!!

I think I may have already posted this one in this Forum, but I am not sure. So I apologize if you have seen it before.

These poor birds were scrounging for seed under the birdfeeders after a snowstorm last week.

Eleanor, Yank had asked me abut Romeo on a different thread and I couldn't remember which one so while it was in my head I figured I best answer. Sorry if I confused you! LOL
Here is Romeo so you won't wonder anymore.

Romeo is adorable!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Thank you Candyce..he thinks so too! LOL

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

Beautiful Candyce! Pixie - Romeo is adorable. I wasn't confused, just kidding with you. I was going to accuse Romeo of giving your DH a little competition!! By the way all cats think they are wonderfull!! LOL Eleanor

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Love the snow pics! And Romeo is quite the guy! I'm having so much fun watching all the neighborhood cats down here. Several come to my critter bath next to our patio, and Molly announces them whenever she smells them in the vicinity. We have Frosty, Butter, Hillary, Jack and Midnight, the regulars, along with a few whose names I don't know.

Pixie - Romeo's face looks like my Wallingford's face but ---

Wally has "contorted" stripes and he has spots on his belly from his bengal breeding.

Cat - I love Wally!! I think I need a cat but should wait until there is no grandson to torment him!! I've had two, but both have died - also not sure i can go through that again either! Eleanor

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow - great pattern on him!

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

I picked him at the rescue day because he A) wasn't a kitten and B) was the prettiest cat there. I had to go to Animal Control and pay for him before I could take him home and it was after I gave the officer my five bucks that they gave me the 1/4" think file of his medical records. (I should have know right then . . . ) Went back and picked him up and hadn't had him home more than a couple of hours when he bit me - really bit me! And we've been best friends ever since!

Combining the 2 subjects, here is Mae watching the sunrise on a snowy morning.

Love that photo bebop!
Yank, his face does look like Romeo's but you can definitely see his bengal markings. Rome just has the plain old stripes. LOL

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

I don't mind other people's cats.

This is snow.

Yup, snow's on the way today! (Unless it's that crappy sleet/freezing rain...)

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

bebop - awesome pic of Mae and the snow and the sunrise. The snow on the pine needles would make a great Christmas card!! Al - love the snowflakes and they do look like stars. Eleanor

Van Etten, NY(Zone 5a)

Thank you Eleanor!

Cat - Wally has wonderful coloring and such a neat Bengal look to him. Very cool! I hope he stopped biting!!

Al - cool snowflake shot!

Bebop - both of those shots are great. The shot of Mae says it all! And that snowy pine shot really could be a Christmas card!! Beautiful!

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

He hasn't stopped biting - he's just stopped breaking the skin. LOL Last night a girlfriend was over for dinner and a movie and Wallingford curled up on the couch with her !

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

When my wife first started coming to my parents' apt., one of our cats - the one real close to me - would actually push his way between us on the couch to sit!!

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

I had a cat that would push me out of bed in the morning.

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

Cat and snow, now BIRDS!!! quit a mix.
Even though I'm not crazy about winter, I still see much beauty in it.
Nice pictures you guys.

Burn, what an awesome sight. You should post that on the Bird Watching Forum - in the Daily Pics thread. They would love it!

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

Thanks bebop2. This was taken during a storm last year. I'll try posting it on bird watching forum.

Van Etten, NY(Zone 5a)

Here is Mae again. This time she's watching a chickadee (after our nasty ice storm left 1/4 inch last night).

Shadow has quite the fur coat!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Lovely winter and bird shots Burn! What kind of birds are those appreciating your feeder?? Shadow is gorgeous!

Bebop, Mae is quite the lady voyeur, isn't she? LOL

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

Love the cats and winter scenes! Eleanor

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

Thanks grammyphoeb

Bebop2; Mae seem to be enjoying the show. Her own TV set. :~)

Donniebrook: The visitors to the feeders are , Purplefinch, Sparrow, Chickadee, Goldfinch, Redpoll , Junco. Woodpeckers etc... They all seem to sense when a storm is brewing.

A Yankee Cat; Shadow's winter coat is all grown in now, His dignity has come back. Poor cat, we had him shaved, last summer, because he had too many knots. He looked like a miniatured lion LOL. Another good thing about shaving, not as much stuff hauled in the house.
