OMG Liz, you did a wonderful job of your planter...I sprayed mine a little and added some glitter and snow..or just take a brush and lightly put some podgy on and sprinkle it..adds a nice texture, but only of course if you like sparkles...lol...was thinking, you don't have pine/cedar trees out there do you??? hmmm

I was watching Dancing with the Stars last night and was pleased with the outcome and was thinking as I was watching it, you'd watch it later wouldn't you so had Carol and I posted the winner you'd have known who it was before the show..am I correct???

Well Helio won Dancing with the Stars..couldn't help but feel a bit sorry for Mel B. since I think she was a better dancer..but I think Helio's big smile and charm won everyone over..and he came a long way from the beginning and worked hard with no earlier training in dance.

Hi all, - I was VERY pleased with the DWTS outcome last night!! I would have been ok with either Mel B or Helio but I was just scared to death it was going to be Marie! Helio was my first choice as he is an Indy driver I follow.

I finally found a picture of our new bed. It should be coming in any time now. I called the store today and they are contacting the manufacturer to see where it is. It will be 6 weeks this weekend and I want my new bed!!!!

Last night took a break and spent time with a really cool photography shoot with Sabrina. Learned something I never knew. i cant wait to see how they came out. It's called flashlight effect.

You will absolutely love St. Augustine...you'll get to see the Fort which was made mostly from seashells..Fountain of Youth..that's a plus...alligator farm and show...love the boutiques and restaurants along the main road as well as carriage rides...what a way to spend Christmas holidays...

So much fun playing dress-up for photo shoot..can't wait to see them..will you have them by christmas...

Oh my gosh no, Judy that is not our bedroom! I wish it were! That's just a picture of the BED we've ordered. I wanted the rest of the furniture but DH nixed that due to cost.

Betty, our room is painted a rich moss green and my accent colors is a rusty red. Once I get the bed up there, I'll take a picture of it. Of course, I'll need to clean our room first!!!! LOL

So I got some exciting news today. A girlfriend of mine who I have gone to NYC with on 3 occasions to the Guiding Light fan club luncheon (I know, really queer!) got a phone call Sunday from one of the stars of the show. She went to the lunch back in Oct and won a auction for a phone call. Anyway, the actor called her and they talked for awhile and he invited her and 5 friends to come up to NYC to tour the studios. She called me!!! Anyway, I think we will be driving up there the week before Xmas and taking the tour. I'll stay one night somewhere up there then fly back home. Her family lives up there so she's going to stay. DH ok'd me spending the $ which won't be much with a one way tkt and no hotel cost. I've only been to NYC 3 times - all in October so it will be really exciting to go at Xmas time!! I will know more in the next few weeks. The actor is suppose to call her back and give her the dates that are good then we can decide how we're getting there and such! I can't wait!!!

Worse of the day...sitting here looking at all that wood that needs to be cut by next Friday and supplies purchased for all..overwhelming at times..but it will turn out ok..always does...

What did I learn today? Darlene is going for her biopsy tomorrow morning on her breast..concerns me...have lost several friends from breast cancer...

I have been pondering on your question about ultimate gifts...haven't thought of anything I want except just watching and hearing about everyones gatherings. As for my tradition...would be Decorating for the Season...always begins with Julia's Birthday Weekend. Dad and Jake and Julia always do the lights...Hhehe Shar, we use them triangle grids! 1600?DH would loose it for sure. Then Breenie and I work on the Fire Place, after all lights are on we all take take our faves and place ornaments on the tree. everything else we place randomly. When it is all decorated, we then have a lighting of the tree...with Silent night playing, and of course I cry. Julia since she could then places Nativity set and we have dinner...Then, I begin my village. I have some really nice peices. Houses all, different sizes and decor! I got houses but no real accesories...it is just fun to light them all up...Outside another story, another full day and me and kids help dad...I like to keep it pretty simple, garland, a few lights.
....Now weGot neighbors...maybe I'll take a pic or two for you, whew...overwhelming.

Best: Decorated my desk area today...Fun/Festive.
Worst...fought with thread! ....hehehe I still won.

The ultimate is always that my family and friends are healthy and happy. Second would be 60 yards of good composted garden soil, the tractor to move it (that I get to drive) and lots of $$$ for the plants to fill it!

thought of you last night dh said when i got home we were going to a mansion in burlingame i looked at him cross eyed and said why? not our kind of neighborhood lol it was at the kohl mansion three floors of crafters decorations and food just lovely good greif how someone could live in one of those houses all the stairs i had a work out.. lol
got some ideas but i found it to be sad no wood crafters alot of knitting, and clothing and beading but the decorations were just beautiful apparently this is a girls school and the mansion was donated, the ground weres just beautiful oh btw if you need to rent the out side for a out- door wedding its only 10,000 wonder what it would cost for the inside to be rented?

we met up with dh boss and wife and they invited us for dinner that was very nice

Always enjoy attending craft shows, mostly for the ideas but I will say if it's something that I will want to do at a later time, I'll buy one..to support the individual and because I know once I leave I'll not remember however simple the project might be...lol..old age-not what it's cracked up to be..

Both Suzanne and I are aching..find the minute I put my arms above my waist, it puts severe pressure on my back and shoulders..only 2 more weeks then I'll have almost 3 weeks to rest..won't that be nice??? Of course Paul is leaving on the 8th so the last week of work I will be able to sit here and finish all my unfinished projects..Robert..another BIL gave me an oar that was found in my dad's house when Paul bought it..he wants me to paint the cottage on it..so I'll use up that part of the week making his gift..

Ride in was slow, just at the freezing point today, will be slippery when it gets colder outside..up north, my neck of the woods they are calling for snow, high winds and weather warning..yuk..fun time again tonight..but not worrying about it..what happens, happens!

Rachel..sounds like a wonderful gift to me..look at the ongoing beauty it will brings you once planted...just said to Suzanne this morning, that once we come back from Holidays we will be able to look forward to spring..not normally many nice days until late March, but still something to look forward to...

Just got a call from Darlene..apparently when the specialist came in, he had her go back and have all the xrays because those that were sent form Midland he couldn't read..then she had biopsy..they had been to her sisters' home for coffee before the hospital..when she and Mike got home she called her sister to say they were home, sister made up something and said she wanted to talk to Mike...she told Mike that Darlene's dad (mom and dad have home in Ft. Myers and spend the winter there) had a massive heart attack and a jet is flying him home with her mom...such nice people..she's my best friend..please/please pray for them both...

She's on her way to the city to meet the plane..she'll call either tonight or tomorrow to let me know what is happening..they so loved their time in Florida..Hubby and I had a place in same Park in Bonita Springs...so many friends..they'll not be able to return as insurance will be too high ... she mentioned maybe making some type of arrangements if non of them can go down for me to bring back their car...so will wait and pray..both for Darlene and for Art and Mae...thanks for your prayers...

Home at last...imagine..8:15...roads were treacherous..will have to take camera with me to photograph for those of you who do not have to contend with blizzards/icy roads etc. Am sure Suzanne won't be able to move..the winds were about 70 - 90k..she had to hold on with both hands because of the gusts of winds/snow...hard way to make a living right???? lol

Just talked to Mike..Art and Mae have arrived to Midland hospital..Darlene's sister is picking Mae up and bringing her to Darlene's house (they have a big home on the water next door to Darlene) but Darlene wants her close by..just in case..am sure all are tired..will call her tomorrow to get update..

Should have gone next door for dog food, just made myself a hot chocolate and have the tub full of epson salts ready for me to soak..so am off till tomorrow..glad you got your parcel Cathy...

i just cant imagine driving in any of that well i take that back one year in late march we went to death valley thinking it would be warm the snow was so heavy going over the pass had to have chains on or the chp would turn everyone away it was scary not being able to see the road and the snow comming down i couldnt believe it.

worst: inventory tomorrow have to be at work at 6.00 am

learned: we just bought another whole sale distributor, now with one more wholesale outfit still untouched ther goal is to be the largest beauty distributor world wide were almost there.

Lost you again somehow in the madness of getting ready for company.

Worst; getting the call that we may have to put my beloved shar Pei down that I was getting ready to bring here from my X's. 2. Our mail box was broken into and I guess it is a big thing in our area so that is a nother big problem. 3. Having to lug two huge tv.s and three computer monitors out to the Salvation Army myself while my back is out, because Greg forgot to do it.

Best: This day is almost over.

Won't be talking for a few days because of all the family visiting. Wish me luck. Hope it goes well. I have the food thing all started and so that is one less stress. :)

hi vicki, yes its 3.44 now i'll be leaving at 5.15 oh how i hate inventory lol we have a couple young kids that just dont get it infact just before i left yesterday one of them was yapping so much with the customer... she had the order on the computer let the customer go with the merchandise i went to clock out and said what is this on the screen she said omg i told her i would suggest you go get your wallet and take care of that.

so it scares me to think we may be off in our perpetual invetory due to things like that.
not that we do anything bad but if were off, the'll put camera's in the store i just dont like the idea of knowing that their watching you all day cant be yourself lol,you have a nice day did you get all your decorating done?

Well here I am, waiting for the boss to come in to see if he'll let me venture downtown to apply for passport..didn't need it to travel south, was driving, but Darlene called this morning at 5:45 to see how I would feel going further south to Fort Meyers, picking up her dad's van and as much valuables as I can tote and drive it back..insurance would cover my cost..but, hadn't gone for passport..they say if I'm there this morning, there could be a chance for me to get it in 2 weeks..Paul's always on time and wouldn't you know he's not here and don't know what time he'll be in..will wait for another 15 minutes or so and might take it upon myself to leave...don't want to be gone all morning because we get off at 1 and they say another weather mass will be coming through this aft. and are warning all to stay off the roads...wouldn't you know..so am in a tizzy..

I do hope you are out applying for your passport now Betty.

I've been seeing how many Christmas bags I have to buy this year to put my families gifts in. I always save some from the last year..but I need more. Bags are easy and reusuable.

Liz..no big plans for the weekend..I am invited to a Chritmas open house but with all the finger food there I think I should be careful and not go as I may still have a few germs. I wouldn't want to give anyone my cold. I am feeling much better..still not completely over it though.

guess what i saw out here? the cuttlebugs! remeber i told you i was looking for one but they were really expensive! well they are on sale for $95, still more than you guys get them for but a much better price. will have to give that some serious thought. maybe a layby.. hmm

Just got in...what a runaround..been frustrated and crying most of the day..can't believe it..1st. Paul didn't get into office until around 11am ..told me to skoot down to the passport office in hopes of getting back to the office by 1 so I wouldn't have to drive alone in the storm...made it to their office 1/2 hr. drive south of where we are..had all my documentation..wouldn't you know it, my birth certificate was lamanated and they would accept it..so they sent me to a branch 25 minutes north of them..said they'd get me one quick/quick..well drove up there, snow storm just starting, get there and the 4 people standing around in the office said nope, in order to do it I would have to go downtown..Fri. downtown would take me at least 1 1/2..but they send me to another office because they thought they could help..right..45 minute drive to be told same as the first office...oh yes, can't forget that at the first office the thought if I cut open the lamination I might be able to take my birth certificate out of it..not so, wrecked my birth certificate so if I planned on driving I would have it either...started off home, winds would periodically pick up and you couldn't see...now that I'm home, I've got a major headache so off I go to bed..

Best...hard to find one today!!
Worse..no birth certificate nor passport appl.
What did I learn..everybody passes the buck..they just want to get rid of you and pass you on to someone else..

boy I'm miserable tonight...I'm going to bed so I can wake up to a better day tomorrow...
