loved the bowl of floating candles and i went to 2 fabric shops just forget it i swear no one sews anymore i remember fabric like that use to be pleantyful not thease days you go back and get the geese they will look just terrific at your place.

well been a long day for me going to relax clean up my mess try to give the dog a hair cut and color my hair im tired just thinking about it have a great evening liz

Enjoy watching you guys do your crafting! The finished projects delightful. When my craft room gets cleaned and I can find things I will be more interested in doing things.

While you guys were doing that I was cleaning out the freezers which has been on the to do list for to long. So messy there was no room for anything. Tonight I will try to get a few small things done off that list.

What did I learn a new painting technic!

Just lurking about DG again this evening .... saw the thread where y'all made the Old World Santa Sleigh's .... Great Job! I love how they all turned out! Sure wish I had the patience and talent to cut wood and also the talent for painting!

I have most of the supplies to try and make the Tomato cage snowman that I saw from one of your other threads! I wasn't sure how much muslin fabric to get, so I bought 3 yds and it looks like it will be enough. I have the fiber fill batting for the head, but am not sure how to get it to stay once I stuff the head. Do you glue it or sew it in to keep it from falling out the bottom? I'm still trying to find a black top hat ... but may have to end up with one of those wool caps and maybe I could put a large pom pom on it or something. I am going to buy some fabric to make a scarf to put around the neck too. Haven't decided if I want a plaid scarf or something wild and frilly! I want to make this for my sister in South Florida who wants to start collecting snowmen! If this one turns out okay I'm sure I will make a few more!

I think it is wonderful how you all work together to do these projects! Betty, you are a great teacher! I really enjoy reading these posts and seeing what everybody is crafting!

where not to apply the DAP. and most of all..Never pick up the peice before wood glue dries!

What did I learn..not to put as much on my to-do list for one weekend..lol...and yet..know there is another which will be longer...so I learnt that some people never learn........night/night

Morning all...contemplated sleeping in till 6 this morning but you know what my craft room looks like when I'm hired to do Santa's work..so it was clean/clean/clean...spick and span for the girls coming in today..well no snow forecast for today so the ride into the city should be uneventful...

Just thought I'd say hi, will respond to the posts when I get to the city..off to have my coffee...

Only 1 complaint about having you all over for the craft day...you DID NOT each all the muffins..now guess who is???? lol

having our district manager in the store today to tell us if were ready for inventory on nov 30, a class going on, our load is due in going to be a long day to say the least!

Sitting here gazing out the window, overcast today, on the cool side but that's expected for Nov.. gracious I heard a horror story on the news this morning on our way in..apparently 2 - 15 yr. olds were killed in car crash..the 14 year old that was driving has to appear in court this morning..imagine..driving at 14..they did not say it was a stollen car so I can only guess that someone took their parents vehicle for a short ride...how tragic for all the parents...those who lost a son, and the parents who are now faced with the charges...

Liz..you asked me I believe about the victorian santa that I had posted instructions for..was in Michael and they no longer sell the type of hair you need..wouldn't like it without that particular hair for beard, but, just went on computer and found it..I'm ordering 4 pkgs. should be able to get 2 out of a package..2 pkgs would do 3 for sure..so excited...I have 3 nieces that I want to do them for..I looked though all over for a 12" high tomato cage..everyone has their garden supplies put away..can any of you look for them for me..12" not the bottom width..12" high..would be appreciated... the hair pkg Liz is $4.50 each..good deal, paid at least $7.98 here...hope it comes in early enough for me to make them now...

Well, yesterday was almost my very 'last' craft day..
The Lord and the angels were driving home with us tonight..transport put on signals came into our lane, hit us, Suzanne was able to keep vehicle under control so although muscles are sore..car sick/sick we're alive..just walked in.. 2 1/2 hrs. on side of road so I'm off for a hot bath, then to bed...

Best...Still alive
Worse...quiet an ordeal having a big transport come at you...
What did I learn...better dye my hair...when the trucker got to our car to check out how we were, he asked Suzanne how her mother was? Soooo that tells me I'd better do something...lol...

What an awful fright! I am so glad you and Suzanne are ok. There are so many accidents on the highways these days.
I hope you get to the new building soon. At least you will have a shorter time driving.

About the tomato cages..have you thought about cutting off the bottom section of the regular size one? I have done that when I wanted a small cage around a plant. I used heavy duty snips.

I am still feeling the happy satisfaction of doing our Santas. I put some the dap on about 7 pine cones and sprinkled some sparkles on them....and put the pine cones in a garland of pine branches. Looks good..thank you again.

It is a bit worrying....no post from her yet. Hopefully she has taken the day off and is resting.

Sharran..such a sweet pic of Ethan....grandchildren are so precious. I am looking after my two youngest grandaughters after school till 10 pm. this week. It is fun to be with them. Interesting to hear what they are learning in school.

I'll see if I can get a photo of the pine cones when the rain stops. I'm hoping the rain won't wash off the dap.

Morning, nope...came into work..Suzanne had appts. and with no car I felt I should come in..she's not moving very well, nor am I and have a headache, but again..we're alive..that's what counts..who knows, maybe later this aft. we'll leave... Suzanne and I were saying how lucky that driver was having us in the car rather than any other..we were so supportive, he was so upset, said he wouldn't be able to drive, we kept telling him it was ok..accidents happen..etc.

The driver said he had a lot going on mentally, that he put his signal on to change lanes and that we must have been in his blind spot..didn't see us at all...guess that is why mishaps are called 'accidents'..we didn't tell the police that though..

So am sitting here quiet at work..mild out today although they are calling for snow by Thurs.

Judy thanks for calling and also thank you for letting everyone know I'm ok..

Liz, are you making the planter box??? if so on the back - inside the box I cut out a little piece of wood and screw the geese to the block and then the block onto the planter box..then ,on the front inside I brad nail or screw geese to the block and then screw it to inside front...if you are ONLY going to place them somewhere then because the wood is so thin I'd screw a little piece of scrap 1 x 1 or similar and drill a hole in it to fit the dowel

thanks for the wood info , yes i traced the pattern but with all the excitement of the sleigh i havent gotten around to cutting it out yet lol

betty, how bad was the car damaged? that was very kind of both of you to say that to the driver, ridding around with dh in the big truck i cant understand how they see anything..

well Liz, my DH Roger was a truck driver until he injured himself and had spine operation and Suzanne's DH is a trucker-long haul..infact she had just finished gabbing with him so we both know how difficult their lives are and it was an accident..as long as we weren't hurt why make it worse for him..

Side of the car is smashed..driver thinks his wheel hit us and I think so too as you can you the marking..it was just lucky that Suzanne could control it enought to avoid going into it...

Oh..it is a relief to hear from you Betty..mind has been on you all morning.
You see you have set such a regular pattern of posting that we all wonder when the pattern changes.
You two have a great attitude about the accident.

Thank goodness. Suzanne didn't panic and over correct the car. Were you nervous aorund the trucks today on the drive in?
I am always cautious when I am close to trucks on the highway...but sometimes you have no choice but to drive beside them.

When I mentioned about cutting the bottom off the regular tomato cage..I meant the top section ..the widest part..
I was thnking about it after was turned upside down. would that be small enough for your project?

It was so nice to see everyone's sleighs. Now I'm really excited for my package to get here. I've been keeping it a surprise for Sonora. She's going to be ecstatic when she sees the craft she gets to do with her mom.

Well, just getting ready to leave the office...going to hospital for a check up..wanted appt. with my own Dr. but his office said no appts. until Nov.29 - 2pm....was and wasn't nice with her..told her I'd only been to the dr's office maybe once each year and that when I call in, it's because there is no other option..she told me quite annoyed..that wether you have someone come 8 times a week or once a year, an appt. is needed..regardless..I was so annoyed..so, Suzanne is finishing up some documents for Trustee and up north we go..her to her Dr.'s and me to emerge..that probably will keep me busy all aft. and night.. yuk..

Carol, will look at a tomato cage I have at home to see if it can be done...

Gillian..I'm anxious for you to get your pracel as well..was a little late in forwarding it..so very hard when you don't get home until Post Office is closed and not always at lunch do we have enough time to travel to the nearest office..but it is on it's way and know you will enjoy..once you receive it, simply let me know and I'll be as close to the computer as I can be to help you out..that budding artist Sonora can probably show us a thing or so...

Sitting here watching Dancing and would you believe that Marie is safe AGAIN????? She must have the entire state of Utah voting for her!! I am just disgusted with this! man I wished I hadn't had so much going on. I would like to decorate and all but family is coming next week and i need to get all my ducks in a row and finish some more painting of my family room. I won't finish but will make it atleast match my new furniture.

Fell off the ladder today and landed my tailbone on an end table corner. I feel like I was in a car accident. My butt is black and blue.
