It's Harper's B-day #2

Hmmm... not that I know of.

Too bad. Just like life these days, only the extremes.

I'd like to take credit for the paint sample card, but that was not my creation. I'll have to go back and let the responsible party know I used her as an example!! I'll pass on the compliments!

Every greeting card I have created has been mailed out to someone, and I never thought to take a photo of one. The next time I use a paint 'chip', I'll take a photo. Usually I will use the paint chip with my Sizzix and create a die-cut for the greeting card.

Oops! I take it back. Here's a greeting card I made last year. Each of the 'tags' was cut from a paint chip. The card reads ... "Tag, You're It!"

Clever! You realize that paint stores are mysteriously losing all their paint chip samples even as I type this . . . . :-)

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

I think they know all about it! LOL!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Very nice Candyce. Yes, no wonder I can never find the color chip I need!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Just tell me which one you're looking for, Victor.......I probably have it in one drawer or another! LOL

Cute card, Candyce!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

How was the surgery, Eleanor?

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

I don't know Victor I slept through the whole thing!! Seriously, it went fine and I'm glad to be home and eating. Just a little sore and stiff. Thanks for asking. Eleanor

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Are to, Al!

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Not it!

Thanks Sue!

Eleanor, glad to hear your surgery went well. Here's to a speedy recovery.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

referring back to the colors, with raw umber, etc... i guess many of us remember the un PC Crayolas like Indian red and flesh pink.
in theatrical lighting, the naming of filter, or gel, colors is kinda crazy too though they all have #s as well. There are several manufacturers. One of the most commonly used colors (i dunno if i'll get censored for this) is Bastard Amber, made by Rosco. When a competitor came along and copied Rosco's names for all their colors, that was one. Eventually they had to change them, and even now another company's Bastard Amber is sold as Fatherless Amber.

Those old terms have to make us wonder why the child was blamed for something it had no control over.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

And why it was used for colors!

Lack of imagination?

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I'm busy grinding mustard seed to make Dijon Mustard for the turkey tomorrow. (And boy, are my arms tired - 4 ozs is a whole lot of grinding.) Sure, I could just buy dijon mustard - but where is the challenge in that? One of the pumpkins from my neighbor's yard has been rosted for pear and pumpkin ginger soup and the turkey breast has been rescued from a maurading band of obligate carnivores that tried to take the first bite when my back was turned. They didn't get through all the layers of plastic and only managed to poke enough of a hole that the juice drained out all over the stove! (It's not like I don't feed them!!!!!)

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

AYankeeCat - I'm impressed! I am just doing the minimum this year - but we will have a turkey.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Wow, Cat! You might get the award for the single most effort to enhance a traditonal Thanksgiving meal!! Your own dijon mustard! Wow! Hope your Thanksgiving is really special!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I agree!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Me, too!

Happy Thanksgiving Day to all.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Medway, MA(Zone 5b)

. . . and to all a good night!

Mid-Cape, MA(Zone 7a)

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. Just finished my cooking (12:30 am) of things that can be made ahead before tomorrow's meal here. I really love cooking at night; it gets quiet, and the cook is allowed to sample a glass of wine.
I'm counting my blessings, one of which is that I managed to get 12 bags of leaves raked up today. Yea! Brown gold!

Assonet, MA(Zone 6b)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Wishing all of you full tummies and hearts. :)

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

woke up at 4, earlier than I planned on getting up, but pies are in the oven

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

Me too, I feel all fuzzy!

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

I felt fuzzy too, but then I shaved.

Seriously, I am very thankfull for this website, this forum and all of you!

Medway, MA(Zone 5b)

Ditto, Dave! Except I didn't shave - don't like to in the colder weather!

Harper, Happy Thanks-Birthday-Giving!!!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

I have a very nice fuzzy sweater. I don't shave it, though.
