I know. I just heard. Sorry!
It's Harper's B-day #2
Pirl - you got to be kidding me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Clean the top of the frig everyday and he expected her to keep the house that clean - sorry I'm just in a state of shock. I'm lucky if I get to clean the top of the frig once a month or even get to clean the house. I won't say what he is, but he is!!!! The poor wife! Eleanor
(just trying to add some more posts)
No, I wish I were joking. Depressing to think of being married to either of those two jerks.
I have a bed for my girl cat on top of the refrigerator - if someone tried the finger test - I'm sure she would bite it. That would teach them!
Hurray! That would serve them right.
My MIL used to come into my house and say things like - I thought you were a better house keeper than that, or I'll go get a dust cloth and dust the table for you, and my favorite you are such a good house keeper I can't believe there is still dust around!!! Used to make my blood boil but she has mellowed a bit since she needs her 2 DILs for help now. About a year ago I reminded her of some of the things she has said to me (and those were the "nice" things that I mentioned) and she couldn't believe she said such things!!! She has a nasty temperment and the occasion was right to explain that some of the things she says can hurt people's feelings. I have one of those MIL who doesn't care for me since I took her little boy away from her - I've offered to give him back!! Eleanor
Cute, Eleanor. No returns I guess.
I told DH early on that I don't clean house and that if he wants a clean house, he's more than welcome to do it.
Too bad to hear that Eleanor. Awful when the in-laws are outlaws. Makes things miserable.
I've cleaned the top of my refrigerator............once, a few years ago, I think?? Not sure why I did it..... I'm simply not tall enough. So there.
Eleanor....I had to snicker as I read about your MIL. Many, many years ago, I had a MIL (the first time around) who was a clean freak. When I was 10 months pregnant, she decided to come for a visit. I got down on my knees and scrubbed our floor by hand, - including all the corners - and applied "Future" to make it all shiny. She arrived, was there about an hour, and then said, "Tomorrow, I'll clean your corners for you." Argggggggggggggggggggh!! After that, I just gave up and let her clean and brag about it. Who cares?
By the way, I cleaned my DH's bedside table and dresser today. Gulp....
10 months?! And you were able to get up again?!
i didn't need a MIL for that - i got it from my own original, who also won't believe some of the things she said to me. (Thankfully there were witnesses to some things!)
My DH's parents are really nice, and have had terribly interesting lives, but we have zero success communicating - they just look at me like i came from another planet totally (which to them it probably seems like i did!).
Eye contact is important.
Phew! I think I've got it easy! Everyone in my family is sloppy.
Boy, it's amazing how much you miss when you're "away" for a day!
Eleanor, did I read you right - did you say you had a TRIGGER FINGER? You be careful girl, or you'll be bunking next to Victor!
I've had four trigger fingers (two on each hand) and surgery twice (one time for each hand). Who knows when they will lock up again (my fingers, that is) but everyone better get out of my way to be safe!! Just kidding!! Victor, maybe you should get the cell next to your's ready just in case I'm not kidding!! Musicians are prone to over - use injuries and they are extremely "shady" characters!! We were all locked in cells, called practice rooms, for years in music school and when they let us out we all went crazy!! Is this the humor and s....ramblings thread? I'm doing well with the rambling. Well anyway, it's another post towards being top and beating games and that other regional forum!! Eleanor
I know those are painful, Eleanor. My father recently had one. Doing okay with just a Cortisone shot.
My hands took a lot of abuse with 50 years of piano playing and 31 years was playing at least 5 hours a day. I didn't mess around with hand problems cause I wanted to keep them playing so I went right for the cure. Also had tennis elbow on each side from playing the piano but that recovered fairly well with cortisone shots. Eleanor
Wow! Pirl, Doesn't that make 3 dust checking stories you've related? Unbelieveable! Those are controlling, abusive men
When men are that controlling you can bet those traits show up in other areas as well.
definitely
Yes. Those traits DO show up in other areas. I speak from experience.
Actually, I do have a few habits that I've picked up over the years ...
Get dressed after I make my bed ...
Clean the bathroom sink and mirror when I'm done with my teeth ...
Wash the breakfast dishes when I'm done with my oatmeal ...
Make sure that the dinner dishes are put away before bed ...
I like it that these are habits. Makes for less stress.
The only thing I make sure I do every day is clean the top of the refrigerator.
heehee
Yes, Victor.....10 months and getting up wasn't easy. That was the day before the induced birth! So glad I could come home to clean corners. LOL
As to cleaning, I subscribe to the Deception Policy. My house is pretty "picked up" but I try to buy furniture and rugs that don't show the "delay and deferral" practice as to vacuuming and dusting. Now the bathrooms are another story....I'm rather anal about those being cleaned super-regularly.....kitchen sink and counter too. I'll be adding the refrig. top to that list as soon as I get a step ladder in here to reach it.
Right room to be 'anal', isn't it?
I just knew we were 'sisters', Louise!
And Victor, very funny!!!!
Yup, Candyce......thought you'd be able to relate to that!
Very perceptive and mentally so quick, Victor......one of your best!! LOL
Thanks - I've been told my head is there a few times!
the reason for the baldness
No - an experimental cure for it.
every time I laugh, DH asks now what are you laughing at
I'm trying to be quiet
Don't get me in trouble!
no it's me who would be in trouble, he's leaving in a minute, so I can laugh out loud then
Do you always laugh when he leaves?!
no, but I do enjoy some alone time
He just doesn't understand how I can spend so much time here on DG.
Yeah, how can the others relate when they just haven't experienced it for themselves?
That's their problem!!
Yup, they don't know what they're missing.
