Actually, he is a patient painting saint as well! LOL
It's Harper's B-day #2
St. Latex?
St. Benjamin the Moor?
Two: Sherwin and Williams.
That's true Al!
Ooops, I meant about what you said before about how the ads make it look like choosing the colors is the hard part.
My DH the Saint always calls it Sherman Williams......LOL It cracks me up!
Glad he's not a Behr about it.
Ohhhhhhhh!
I hate picking colors cause I can't make up my mind - I like them all!! Eleanor
Yeah, Eleanor - I love colors too. I also think it's hard to know how a color from a teeny chip will look when it's all over your walls. I am always drawn to the color charts in stores like HD - whether or not I'm painting anything.
yeah, cause they're all so pretty!!
You know those little color sample strips? I did my bedroom with them. That could also be faux painting.
I make my own greeting cards, as do some of my friends. They have used the paint samples for card fronts.
Dave, you didn't!
Too funny guys!
I am the same. Choosing just the right color is so difficult! I'll look at the paint chips (by the way, I use them for greeting cards also), and see that they just don't offer the color I am searching to find! If only it was a bit more yellow, or a touch more white. 'Know what I mean?
Yes, I do. The pink I choose for this guest room could not have been this Bazooka bubble gum pink! But the dark berry color for the wall with the shelves in here came out perfect. If I had more courage I'd have done the entire room in the dark color. I have to wonder why so many of us are afraid of the dark colors, like deep green, etc.
I love dark colors! Unfortunately DH likes pastels. And we have a small house, so the lighter colors do work better.
I've always heard that dark colors shouldn't be used because they make small rooms appear smaller yet decorators do it frequently and it looks wonderful. A friend did her living room in a dark cinnamon and it's dramatic and inviting.
Both light and darker have their place. Darker colors are much warmer and make the room cozier and more intimate.
A friend just did her living room in an avacado ish green and her dining room in a burnt orange, and it seemed wierd without furniture, but once put all together, looked wonderful.
I want to do a room in one of those great Crayola colors - Burnt Umber, Burnt Sienna, etc.!
We like wallpaper :-)
In which Crayola color?!
The names of the colors sure have changed from when I was five years old. Then they only had red, yellow and blue! Am I dating myself?
When I was a kid, we had the big 64 color box with the sharpener in the back. That's where all the weird colors were included.
I dated myself, but I dumped me.
Hmmmm, you dumped yourself. You don't strike me as a loser! Start dating yourself again! You must be heartbroken and lonely... he he
I'm sick today. Whaaaaa! I fought it off quite successfully last week, but the weekend activities took a toll on me and now I'm sick. Boooooo.....
Feel better! I won't ask what those weekend activities were.
I am reluctant to ask myself again. What if I say no? How awkward would that be?! And it was my fault anyway, not mine. I just need my space right now. Yet there is a hole that I once filled...
My weekend activities were innocent enough. Just stayed up late and worked too hard.
Victor! You're so funny!!
Hope you feel better soon, Harper!
Victor - I LOVE the 64 pack of crayons! I really love the names of the colors too. Burnt sienna is a great color for decorating.......very earthy! I couldn't wait to have grandkids so I could buy crayons again! There's nothing prettier than a newly opened box of 64....all sharp and unused! Ooooooh love that!
Debilu and Candyce....how exactly do you use the paint chips for greeting cards? Can you show us a pic of some ? Sounds like a neat idea. Since they're small, I can't figure out how you use them.....
Thank you Louise. Hey, I got a chance to visit the Crayola factory! Fun! It wasn't as great as seeing the crayon production on Mr. Rogers, though.
Louise, I haven't used them myself - so Candyce can probably get a pic for you, but I've seen them with the lettering cut off, then stamped with a design, then mounted to a card front.
Sounds cool, Deb! I hope Candyce posts a pic of hers. I have a ton of them - just in case I ever want to paint something some color!! LOL
Here is a sample I found at splitcoaststampers, hope it works

Nice, Deb!! Thanks! It gives me ideas!
Yes, that's very nice. Harper, I just saw the Mr. Rogers episode recently! Loved it. I don't think the crayons are quite the same as they used to be.
Deb, Very Nice!
Victor, Burnt umber...burnt sienna..have you had a fire?
Harper, No I didn't really cover a room with paint samples!
Dave, in the pigment world, they also have raw umber and raw sienna.
I have trouble digesting those.
Not near Victor they don't!
Any medium rare or medium well colors?
